  1. Have you heard anything regarding this or Hoedt?

Another option is reddit.com/r/saintsfc. Not the biggest community yet but the reddit layout is easy to use and goal highlights are posted on there as they happen.
  3. Or, alternatively, post what you want and if it turns out to be incorrect or ill-informed and someone else points that out reply with "cheers for letting me know, hadn't seen that" rather than getting wound up.
  4. You weren't scolded you were corrected, in not a particularly rude way either. You massively overreacted.
  5. https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/celtic-transfer-message-ajer-ntcham-4468563 Sounds like Ajer and Ntcham will be off this summer. Be cool if we can snap up one of them, preferably Ntcham.
  6. "Essential cog for RB Leipzig" and 23. That won't be happening then, unless we have a spare 50m odd lying about.
  7. Ask and you shall receive https://www.spotrac.com/epl/payroll/. We are 11th which is much more sensible. Wages have been our issue for years, when a player is on 80k a week, that is a few million a year. We have about 5 players on that sort of money not even in our squad, it dwarfs transfer fees and is undoubtedly where all our money is going. When we need to "sell to buy" it isn't because we are broke and can't afford transfer fees without raising money, it is because our wage bill is massive and if we can't shift players off it we will go under in the coming years and be forced to sell players for much less than they are worth just to stay afloat. It is just good business. Also worthy of note we are 4th in the league for most spent on goalie wages, seems like our biggest sink. EDIT: Bit of further analysis. Brighton have spent almost exactly 200m more than us in transfers in the last 5 years which has them as top 6 for net spend. However our wage bill is at the moment ~20m a year more than them and 2 years ago it was 42m more than them! Over the 5 years we have spent about 130m more than them on wages which doesn't make the net spend disparity seem that crazy. And brighton are very much an outlier in that their net spend is huge.
  8. I'm actually hopeful about landing Ntcham. We have a good relationship with celtic, he wants out, and we have already been rumoured to have offered £20m for McKennie which would probably be enough to secure him. The way Celtic fans describe him he seems like our sort of signing too, all the technical ability and physicality but some concentration issues and a tenancy to go missing, both of which a top manager like Ralph could fix.
  9. We have a friendly against Swansea this saturday apparently (https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-duo-poised-return-18829249), going to be one with two 60 minute games like the lockdown Friendlies. Gotta expect Salisu to get some minutes or something is wrong.
  10. I'd imagine that the youth players we are considering will not get a number until closer to the start of the season as Ralph is probably giving a number of them a chance to prove themselves in preseason.
  11. First training pics in, no sign of Salisu...
  12. Armstrong also struggled to get into the Celtic side...
  13. If it is a fitness problem it is much more likely to be Bednarek who missed the last two games at the end of the season with injury than the person who just successfully passed a medical.
  14. That's a relief. Would love Vestergaard out even if we don't replace him. Get those huge wages off the books and a tidy little transfer fee and reinvest in a quality DM. A rotation of Salisu, Bednarek, Stephens, and whoever the best academy product is atm would do us fine for the season. Also would be interesting to see if we could get Rashica. Already dealing with Werder over Lemina, RB Leipzig are out the running and is reported he doesn't want to go to Villa for a relegation skirmish. Feel like we could sell him with the "safe, reliable team and shop window" argument.

    Jack Butland

McCarthy is statistically one of the top 6 or 7 keepers in the league by xGC overperformance and top 10 cross claiming and save %. He may not be flashy but statistically he does a great job for us. Replacing him with a lad who can't make it in the bottom half of the championship is mental.
  16. Shame Carl Anka put me off the idea of him signing by saying he was crap, I would be pretty excited otherwise.
  17. Smallbone and Jankewitz are the cover as it stands. I severely doubt we buy two players and block both of them completely from competing for the top spots. More likely we buy one if Reed goes and then JWP and new CM start with Smallbone, Jankewitz and Romeu deputising. Wouldn't be surprised if we brought in no one though and had those two competing to see who could replace Romeu in the starting XI over the course of the season.

    Last week of august apparently.
  19. Can't be super confident about this sort of thing. Salisu is significantly more highly rated though. Danso seemed to come out of nowhere at the last minute in almost desperation, whereas Salisu was competed over with a champions league side (Rennes) and was linked to Real Madrid, Athletico, United and the spanish fans on reddit seem to think he is amazing.
  20. Love me do works too if you are looking for a beatles song, arguably fits better.
  21. People got bored waiting for the announcement and started squabbling about who was and wasn't ITK. It was proper tedious so the thread was locked. Can someone post the Atlantic article here if that is allowed? Don't you need a membership to read those things?
  22. Took you long enough to rule him out while everyone else was mentioning him? Are we interested in anyone in that position then?
  23. Seems pretty damning to me. Lets move on to our next target or attempt to lock down Reed then.
  24. First Zeefuik and now McKennie, Hertha are becoming our nemesis this window!
  25. "#Schalke - #Southampton will (initially) withdraw from advertising for Weston #McKennie. The English are not ready to pay more than 15 million euros for #McKennie, and there is a gap in terms of “salary expectations” (Southampton offers less due to lack of PL experience)" Seems like it. I know we all want to go out and spend loads of money but maybe the salary demands are insane. Enter West Ham I suppose.
