He came forward at pace with his fist at head height in a punching action and followed with his elbow, it's very different from how a keeper normally claims a cross in a crowd.
-
Dangerous play from Lloris for me, you shouldn't be able to follow through with your fist and elbow into a players head. Any other position on the pitch and a bad follow through is an instant yellow or red regardless of if you get the ball, why should it be different for a keeper, especially to the head? The second pen was absolute nonsense though.

So still nothing aside from that, no other incidents or evidence. You have one incident which you think confirms that he is too soft despite his great tackling and aerial duel wins. I think you don't like statistics because back in the day you could just chat nonsense and there would be no way to disprove it. Now it is blatantly obvious when someone has no idea what they are on about from looking at the underlying numbers, which obviously doesn't favour you.
-
So to confirm, it's the ducking a ball once thing you basing this on? As you still have literally nothing else, except one incident you clearly can't let go. Numbers are useless but that one time he ducked really upset you I guess. Maybe being beaten is football related rather than not being hard enough.
-
Its quite literally your only example of him being a wimp, given his tackle and aerial contest % are really good. If you have another, other than you just reckon he is, then I'm all ears. Also you have said the same son-in-law thing about 5 times, do you ever get bored of always saying exactly the same things?
-
So judging his value and quality partly off his 15 goal contributions last season is bad but basing it off ducking one shot once is completely sound logic? You couldn't make it up.
-
His dad is getting a bit controversial.
-
Problem is, this "mincing fairy" thing you seem so obsessed with is all in your head. He puts in a lot of tackles, wins a high %, wins a lot in the air. You have decided he's some sort of wimp and keep whining about it but there is very little evidence it's true other than just what you reckon because he doesn't yell at his team mates and you get a weird vibe off him.

Very misleading headline this one. In actuality an unrelated ex-player, Noel Whelan, who has literally no links to Villa or has even played for them said: “Villa are showing real intent early on," he said. “I think the move will materialise, it’s happening. They have already got Buendia through the door so it really is exciting times for Aston Villa fans. “If they can get Ward-Prowse as well, another international, they could really reach that next level. “He was very unlucky not to be in the England squad for the Euros. He would add serious competition for places." He used the phrase "It's happening" for some reason, but nothing in the rest of it seems to show he has any of the knowledge to suggest that. If the athletic say it's rubbish though, it probably is.

If any player for any team was better then the team would probably win more. It's a very strange point from Duckhunter that can apply to literally any player at any sports team ever.
-
Also the most expensive player on that list, Pogba, also primarily plays as an 8 and is probably the closest player on that list to where JWP plays. The "forwards are the priciest players" thing is definitely getting steadily less accurate with the mad money CB's command nowadays.
-
We have a lot of players who can cover fullback - JWP, Diallo, Salisu, Stephens - and the option to move to a 3atb and play a wingback. Neither is the ideal solution but it will be a rare thing to have to do with three fullbacks most likely. I just don't think signing three fullbacks in one window is the best way to go, especially since our squad is full of other, bigger, holes once we have three fullbacks nailed down.

Willing to pay 15m for Tavares. From what I hear about him he has good physical characteristics but is other than that dreadful. Apparently dreadful crosser, passer ect. Hope we steer well clear. Perraud in, Brandon Williams on loan with an option, and then turn our attention to attacking mid and GK please.
-
Southgate is an idiot. Took him an age to call up grealish and now is utterly failing to do anything worth while with one of our best squads in years. Absolutely not a mark of quality considering all his blunders leaving JWP at home is bad but probably not even in his top 3.
-
Not every goal will win the game, obviously, use your brain mate. His goals have won us a number of points this season which without them we would be in a lot more trouble. Really shouldn't have to explain that. You know the team that scores the most win right? So goals win games but scoring doesn't mean you definitely win? Or is that a bit technical for you? Don't wanna get too stats heavy.
-
Very few, I'd imagine, because he isn't. He wins a very good number of 50/50s and is actually very good on aerial duel stats which shows he is pretty strong at not being knocked off aerial contests either. Of course neither of these matter to you because you reckon he's soft because he doesn't yell at his team mates.
-
I remember he once said we are in a worse situation than pompey. Never sure if he's a troll or just the most miserable fan I've ever spoken to.
-
I compared the value of his goal output. Sorry that's a little tricky for you to grasp. Goals win games, and JWP got us 15. There we go, nice and simple.
-
Guess the set piece goals don't matter then...
-
Well, that's not true at all, if you look at almost any pundit they rate JWP way over £30m. Either way mate, keep chatting nonsense with nothing to back it up.
-
I do watch the game, you clearly don't, or you close your eyes when he leads to 15 goals last season. And he is still better than Phillips, one good game and one shit game in the euros doesn't change that. I think you think people can either look at stats or watch games. Therefore, because you don't understand stats it only follows that the other side don't watch games. Unfortunately that's not really the case.
-
Of course in open play he creates less, he's a holding mid. He has great defensive numbers in open play and his elite set piece ability is worth a similar value to having a good attacking mid. What more do you want? Also imagine using someone's skill at a key important part of the game, that yields 15 goals, as an argument for their quality and value, how daft, someone tell him setpiece goals don't count quick.
-
He can't be blamed alone for 2021 form, that's not fair at all. And why would you take out set pieces, do they not count to winning. They are worth exactly the same as any other goal, don't be silly, see where we are without his 15 goals and us getting the normal number of goals from set pieces rather than second best in the league, probably in a relegation scrap.
-
I'm suggesting his value is significantly higher than £30m when he provides 15 goal contributions for the side in a season. Then showing you similar goal contributions from other players to illustrate how much that is worth. A number of the people I listed are on set pieces too (Grealish, Mount, Raphinha, Maddison) so it's not like JWP has some sort of unfair advantage. Also, not being funny, but if "goals and assists" are a pointless stat to you then what do you even want? Goals win games, there is literally no more important individual thing for a player to do. Do you just dislike the concept of using numbers? I get you not liking xG or whatever as it is a little confusing, but this is just listing number of goals and assists?
-
Completely disagree with this. JWP is a quality player, worth atleast £40m, we will ask for £50m atleast because of how important he is to our side. His goal contributions alone are worth that and he is a holding midfielder. He has more goal involvements than Aubameyang, Raphinha, Mount, Zaha, Maddison and one less than Jack Grealish last season as well as having excellent defensive and ball progression stats. He also is our captain, is English, played every minute of the last two seasons, is on a four year deal, and is still only 26, and people are saying he should go for less than a championship attacking mid.
