Russell Martin has to be sacked. Was completely poor decision to recruit him in the first place, my decision based on that decision alone to not renew saved time and pain from watching more inept performances. When will the club learn you need to invest in a decent manager who knows how to pick and play players in right positions and can coach them too. Good manager worth their weight in gold.

The best choice I made was to forgo my season ticket renewal as the writing was on the wall from day one..... the club announced "We are extremely excited to welcome Russell to Southampton,' Kraft said. 'Russell was the stand-out candidate throughout our recruitment process and we are confident his strong track record, alongside the experienced leadership of our new Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, will deliver great results" The words are slightly different but the sentiment the same when Nathan Jones was appointed. Please explain "Stand Out Candidate?" for achieving turgid loosing football with no defence. 17 goals conceeded, useless. Sack martin in the morning and admit another mistake.

Leeds 2-0 now we are getting more cut adrift...whilst Saints board sit on their hands to see if NJ can turn things around. What complete joke.
-
Other teams sacking manager when things not working out, plus Leeds winning one-nil to UTD at HT, not great for us, but have to wonder if sacking Marsh has had impact? We sack Jones and then finger crossed can go on winning run, finger crossed anyway, got to live with hope until hope has finally gone. COYR.

I note Dyche says that players should train like they are playing i.e. not hats, snoods etc. I note todays photos players wearing exactly that snoods, hats etc. Therefore are the coaches working them hard enough. Dyche, the more I hear the more I feel the club missed golden opportunity. Huddersfield acting decisively York acting decisively Leeds did couple day ago. Saints still sleep walking if as fans forum suggest they think Jones can turn it around. Best outcome Wolves win and Jones speaking his mind having a rant at how great he is that should be final nail.... Hope doesn't cost us another opportunity. Games are running out fast now.

Today is day of utter disappointment, keep refreshing southamptonfc.com .....Hoping to see a club statement .....Let down on every refresh..... As season ticket holder paying a premium in Kingsland middle it's another kick in the proverbial nuts price hike for my ticket for piece of plastic and then sacked a decent manager, who I accept had lost his way a little for complete Ali Dia of managers, no PL experience, loathed by more fans than support, and each day the situation gets worse. Leeds taking decisive action, with MARSCH winning 30% win rate, our manager taken 3 points in 21 is 14% and we continue to stand by NJ. Everton = Dyche early early days but has had immediate inspiration Wolves = JL took bit more time but now seeking their rewards Forest= Decided to stick by Cooper now working out, they look safe. Southampton = Supposedly had a long term plan to recruit err, one of the best managers in Europe quote NJ.... What a complete utter joke. Hope by bed time we all have the best new to celebrate club statement. Otherwise the stands will slowly get more empty as each result ebbs and flows closer to the Championship.

After Ralphs last game before World Cup Break I listened to Radio Solent commentators bemoan Wolverhampton Wanders lack of plan, and they slated Wolves for sacking their manager without supposed plan. The talk at the time was IF SAINTS SACK RALPH then hope they have a plan.... Roll on and Ralph gets sacked and we appoint an absolute shocker of manager, listening on the evening of day before the fateful appointment, I listened to Jo Tessem making cross reference to the unheard of who was Paul Sturrock.... Nathan Jones reminds me of a bad bad dream of decline and pessemisim.... Jan Poortveliet Mark Woote Manuel Pellegrini Ian Branfoot Paul Sturock If the club cannot smell the roses and the fact we are in deep deep smelly turd then what can they were are bound for the Championship and before it may just be too late, replace this inept no experience out their depth hopeless situation. New manager bounce, we lost the lot, we have gone backwords, facts are simple we are worse than under Ralph. No manager gets world cup break to work and improve players I rest my case.
-
I agree with you it feels like we have fallen to the depth of despair like Pellegrino before. I recall Ralph saying the club needed a striker, and IF BOARD had delivered this would we be in such a dire position, I feel not, Romeu is a huge loss, but the players recruited in year or so will on whole be good I think but you can't go pure youth, otherwise just play B team and disregard A side, surely the club see this simple fact. I wasn't at the game but listened to the Solent Commentary and it sounded like lots of hoof ball and bad performance with exception we won. Lets keep it in context that this is Blackpool side struggling in Championship. My fear is who are three worse sides than Saints, without a striker, as said by Ralph needed replacement for Broja loan and Ings before that, all fans can see we struggle for goals. It is heart breaking to see the club squandering their place in PL only 20 clubs can be in it, no club has devine right to to be there, and I can't see us bouncing straight back, it could take years, time club sorted this debacle out, starting with we made a mistake board NJ Out!!

Another poor game. Wake up Southampton FC time to relieve Nathan Jones of his position. Wolves appoint their manager not their first choice and climb out bottom 3. Everton about to sign their second choice if reports confirmed Dyche....and my money would be they too climb out bottom 3. We sign our clubs first choice lose all games with exception of Everton.....Just simply not good enough...cupgames aside, we are in deep deep trouble, we need a proven striker, and have just about had the whole window, and what do we sign, a Luton defender with no PL Experience, what are the club thinking?
-
Adkins or punt on Lampard, maybe, or Dyche, there are options but move fast Saints spend big if you can't sign players have manager who can eek out extra % with players we have
-
Nigel Adkins - Our only hope, we are not ever going to win the talent competetion, we are past that point, we now need players having back some pride in shirt, boosting some deflated egos and wear hearts on their sleeves, unite crowd, with some passion some love, Nathan Jones out out out, total waste of time back to Ian Branfoot times in disguise.
-
Branfoot Sturrock Poortvliet Pellegrino Jones, sack him before it's too late.
-
Jones at the end of match patting Brighton players on the back, shaking their hands ignoring Saints players. Then trudging off with an assistant. Terrible display from manager I never wanted. Ian Branfoot take 2.

Keep FF good keeper. AM awful keeper, 90% of his distribution goes to opposition player, nearly cost us more goals trying play out from back yesterday v Liverpool. With other areas to improve first keep FF who is good keeper for couple more seasons.
-
Alex McCarthy has absolutely awful distribution in my opinion, having gone to most home matches, I watch in horror at the number of times the ball has gone directly to the opposition from a throw or kick. Yes, he has made some superb reflex saves, but this is what he is paid to do and what we should expect of a PL goalkeeper. It is now high time that Ralph gave FF a decent run in the team, he did well when he had the better defence in front of him with record number of clean sheets, and whilst he may not match this with the current defence in front of him, it is high time to give him a chance. I'm fed up with the ball going to the opposition putting out side under unnecessary pressure.
-
I think Ralph has made some big mistakes selecting Alex McCarthy is shocking, his awful performances don't support his selection. Our big problems are saints lost Ings top goal scorer and have replaced with Armstrong and Adams simply not good enough. Broja is good, but only loan and could've recalled in January if Chelsea decide they need him back. I'm not sure changing manager is the answer, getting rid of Redmond, Adams, Stephens, McCarthy to me, making these few changes has to be a start. Everyone has to remember Bournemouth paid good money in the year they got relegated, Solanke flopped, they suffered injuries too, and I'm sure he fell out with their players too such as Begovic who was better keeper than Boruc, who was past it. The rot at saints goes deeper than some of Ralph's odd selections or late substitutions. New owners, new investment is key. Without it, I think most managers will struggle. Let's be honest a club that increases tickets in Kingsland premium and loses most of the fans to either not go or move seat is no way to repay fan loyalty.
-
Time Ralph selected FF. AM distribution is shockingly poor, before ball leaves keeper 9 out 10 it either is kicked to opposition or out of touch. Every kick pass counts, end product counts. Yesterday slow down to Burnley 2nd goal scored from range looked like it could been stopped if more outstretched, quicker to see read shot. For such key position AM is costing saints, wake up smell roses give FF some game time for FF to build some confidence again, he does hold longest run no goals conceded, and is better of the two.
-
That is understatement. poor poor keeper and now have lost.
-
0-1 and we fucked it up.
-
McCarthy passes more balls to opposition than his own team.
-
Seriously losing faith. FF should be in goal, done little wrong. It would not surprise me to see Spurs win, and it pains me. Up to now I've had full faith with RH but slowly seeing lack of tactical idea. Lucky to beat Burnley. Too slow to make changes against WBA. Now drops FF for keeper who is poor at distribution.
