Reply to the post, not the poster! I actually agree not selling our best players every season would be a no brainer. Yes we keep doing well but if we still had the likes of Mane, Schneiderlin, Lallana, or dare I say it Bale maybe we would be a top 4 club not rather than top 7-10th.......

I hate to say it - but well done to Tottenham, not even in the top 10 spend but looking one of the best teams in the Premiership currently. Must link to promoting youth (much as we have) and probably a big influence of Poch being there (who I think will end up being one of the best managers in the world).

I thought of this on the train home, it's simple and has an known/catchy tune: To 'we're on the pull' We've got Puel, we've got Puel, we've got Puelllllll.... We've got Puel, We've got Puel, we've got Puel, we've got Puel Repeat as often as desired, and between stands if it takes your fancy

Wasn't Pelle (the defensive midfielder one) Brazilian?

Didnt we play him at left back????? No wonder we didn't see the best from him!

I've not read the whole thread but has anyone mentioned 'boncebackability' I think defined as a teams ability to 'bonce back' post relegation?

The topic being unfunny comedians we seem to have focussed on TV and sit-com. Can I throw Adam Sadler under the bus as one of the most unfunny people in history, who sadly has made more than most of the comedians mentioned on this list!

According to BBC, lets hope for some good news!

Would it be good for Saints to do a similar trip?
ozzmeister replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Saints
Aren't we doing the same already in Africa, Tunisia maybe? I'm sure I read we set up an academy there some time ago? -
I think this team for me, I really want to see JWP ush on this season and make a claim for MVP, I really think he will be the one to benefit of the supposed focus on academy.
-
I think we are fine at the moment. I do think though we need to start looking at a replacement for Fonte, I think he has one more season at peak ability then will start to fall.

Have you been on the official site browsing the kit? If so that is what is causing other internet sites to show the kit. Website adverts are tailored to each users browsing (for example I get adverts for Iceland currently on here on the basis that I've googled Iceland a few times - I suspect everyone else gets different ones). Clear your browsing history/cookies and I bet the kit advert wont appear on the site you were on previously.

Would Targett be ready to step up if called upon? Would be consistent with going back to promoting youth, and with him, JWP and Redmond we have three from the England under 21 in our starting (maybe) line up.

Wonder if he'd bring Ben Afra with him - Mane replacement??

Huddle with one of the best win % of the lot

'Brendan Rogers' Is he a hypocrite?
ozzmeister replied to Saint Without a Halo's topic in The Saints
Does Brendan effect our relationship with Celtic (who we've traditionally done a lot of business with). Never sure why we don't loan to them more, club with a gritty league to toughen our players up, some European football, and a better standard of player to learn from than league1. -
I'm looking at buying a watch to, specifically a Rolex, final present to myself before kids! Any view on new vs second hand/vintage?

I'm sure Dalek is on his annual wind up (I'd miss it if he wasnt) that was exactly how Leicester set out last season, slowly set, deliver, and reset the objectives. I remember it was, team just needs a clean sheet and I buy pizza. this takes the pressure off the players and they play with freedom.

I think people need to be clear on what their asking here: - We need an adequet number two who can stand in should/if FF gets an injury or needs a rest/play in cup games. Realistically this is not going to be a top quality keeper, but an average one, and one who will be happy to be No2 (how many clubs, apart from the top 4, have a 'top quality' number 2 - the fact I cant think of many no2's from the top of my head answers the question. In that regard Stek will be fine - We need a young keeper who can realistically challenge FF in the future. I think the consensus is that is not Gaz. If so sell him and get a quality young keeper in. CChallenge is, for a young keeper to realise his potentila he needs to play games. Therefore he MUST go out on loan and play competitive football for a couple of seasons. Joe Heart did this. Secondly, if we really are committing to a young up coming keeper we need to have the guts to play him when we feel he is ready. Again as Man City did with Heart (cant remember who they sold but they got rid of a good experienced number 1 and put faith in Heart). Conclusion - buy Stek as number 2, Sell Gazz, replace with a keeper who is approx 21-22, who is already first choice at a Championship side (who can be loaned back without issue).

Was announced at half time today that MLT vs SRL will go ahead in a penalty shoot out at Kelvins testimonial. Two saints legends with two pretty much untouchable penalty records. Who will come out on top, and will kelv be in goal?

Sammy Lee and the Orc's from LOTR - sadly I'm not clever enough but its the pick with him and Woy when at Liverpool.

Was it any good, highlights?

Was nice to hear his comments pre match yesterday 'I'm a Saints fan as are all my family, I'll have to forget that today, but after this match I still wish them well'........ Also didnt realise he had the second highest pass completion (second only to Fabregas) - clearly he is operating at a more central role than he did for us (winger iirc). Could he be worth a punt as a squad player, cant imagaimn he's be very expensive, or on much per week. You'd also assume as he is a fan he wouldnt want to leave at the first opportunity and would have some passion for the club!
-
I'd see this as a fantastic opportunity to see how well we cope without him. I'd like to see Rom and JWP given a decent run for a few weeks to see how they stick. If we cope well it will make selling him much less of an issue - I wonder if all these sending off's will have a negative impact on his price tag?
