  1. Don’t we already have an official betting partner SportsPeta (https://southamptonfc.com/saints-partners/sportpesa).
  2. I think now we are safe it’s time to properly giving the -2-2-2 formation a proper go, at the least we will find the players who really can’t handle it: Gunn Valery Bednarek. Yoshida. Berty Lemina. Hoj JWP. Redmond Long. Ings
  3. Maybe slightly premature but it’s looking pretty nailed on to be Cardiff, Fulham and Huddersfield. So out of these three teams which one player would you sign from each? Huddersfield - Kognola (defender) Fulham - Mitrovic (striker) Cardiff - maybe Camasara (midfielder) To be honest I struggled with Cardiff!

Have only experienced this kind of thing are american Football games. I don’t think it’s a terrible idea, some decent food, maybe some ex players doing bits, games, tv screens etc. Whilst also very American I also really enjoyed tailgating, but not sure how/could it catch on here due to potential for fighting.
  5. I really cant bemoan a player who has hit 30 and wants to achieve something in his final years as a professional. He is likely to win domestic silverware and get a few regular years in the Champion League - something Saints could not give him. Keep on like he is and in a few years he can do a nice retirement season(s) in the US, China or India.
  6. Looks like we won in a friendly vs QPR https://southamptonfc.com/news/2019-03-20/gallery-southampton-qpr-friendly-staplewood-campus-1819 AUSTIN, Gallagher and Vokins scores. Was this a closed door job or or did anyone go??
  7. Feeling of players being a part of the local community. Either from the area, or have an affinity to the area and are seen out and about. From todays team I can only think of JWP and maybe Yoshida who has these qualities.
  8. My concern is we seem to play well against the better 'footballing' teams but struggle against the supposedly average team - look at what happen in Jan/Feb. We played well/got a great result against Man U and Spurs but I hope we dont fall into average performances again for our next, on paper winnable games (as we did against Cardiff and Burnley).
  9. I thought it was Benali's daughter? She is hot!
  10. Just watched motd (I know it’s not the same as going) but we really didn’t look bad. Attacking intent with redman, Vallery and Austin unlucky not to score. I think if we played the same game 3 times we would 2/3. Yes a fitting couple of results and would have really liked at least 3 points from the last two. However there is clearly a change in team mentality and set up. I think we will be fine, but it will be very close. Still Cardiff (they cant sustain this momentum) Fulham Huddersfield To go down for me

Refreshing to see ya going back to what we did (potentially) preciously in signing the best players from the championship.
  12. How tied in are we to the Ings transfer. Whilst clearly quality when he is fit he has only been available due to injury for (maybe) half a season? 20mill sounds alot for what you get!
  13. Bart looked amazing in his debut against Newcastle. Confidence is a big thing for goalkeepers, especially young ones. If he has a stinker does he have the mental strength to see past this?
  14. I’d quite like to see a full second 11 then have first team training against these for the next week. That way we keep key players sharp and gelling for premiership, and fringe a fun out for FA Cup.
  15. Interesting team, Gunn must have impressed in training, or the McCarthy leaving rumour has some legs!
  16. From arsenal, bidders, west ham and city we could have maybe expected/hoped for 4/6 points. We have that so it’s a good return. Confidence will be fragile with the players, just hope this result doesn’t effect that!
  17. I'd be suprised if Poch didnt take it. Regardless of how ManUtd are placed now they are in the top 5 elite clubs in world football with a massive spending potential and no wage restrictions. Probably only Barcelona or Real Madrid are bigger. He's done amazing at Saints and Spurs and I think has taken Spurs feasibly as far as he can, especially with the restrictive wage structure they have there.
  18. I see potentially a big improvement in terms of goals from Redmond and also JWP if he plays the second space in the 4-2-2-2 formation. I'd actually bring back Boufal as well.......... Central defense is my worry. Cahill as a short term option isn't the worst shout!
  19. I could see a place for Carrillo and Boufal now? The new coach likes the odd flair player. Boufal and Redmond in the advanced midfield two could be interesting!

    4-2-2-2

So this supposedly is the preferred formation of the new boss. So who is your team: McCarthy Valery - vest - yoshida - Bert Lemina - Romeu Redmond - Armstrong Ings - Austin/gab/obafemi Apologies for format.....
  21. I actually quite like this debate. I'd be in the camp of he missed the penalty even if its saved. Goes down the same logic during open play when a striker 'missed a sitter', or 'missed a one on one with the keeper'
  22. His family are based down here and he has a new baby so couldnt see him going to anyone other than BMouth. Could actually see him doing very well there ala Surman!
  23. Am in France nowhere near to a pub or with sky. Anyone got a stream foof the game?
  24. I think Benitez is the best manager in the prem, has proved he can do the business with big money and big egos, but also do the business when on a budget, as well as managing a team who got relegated to bounce straight back up!
  25. I’m confused, so are we 1-0up?
