Your favourite Saints players that weren't popular?
ozzmeister replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Murty, seemed a nice guy, came to us when we were at our lowest and when fit always put a shift in, seemed a good role model as well. Is he not a coach at saints now? -
Would pompy as a feeder club ever work. They are at the right level and local (the new Bournemouth in that respect u could say). Alas though whilst professionally it should benefit both parties to many inbred fans would give the saint loanees a hard time!

Maybe a bit late as it would have been funnier to do yesterday but could we not just nick the Paulo dicanio song: DANNIE osVALdo, Dannie osVALdo etc..... It's simple, it's Italian, everyone knows it

First of all no trolling intended, just a point for discussion. Now, Ricky is very much man of the moment and rightfully so! However was our pursuit of a new striker this summer (and now signing of osvaldo) with the intention of upgrading our Ricky? Before the England heroics this had been a talking point. At 31 does this signal rickys transition more to an impact substitute? Personally I can't see how he's droppable at the moment but if not how do we fit both players into the lineup? Does to Ricky move to play just behind osvaldo, and if so who is then impacted, Ramirez? (Surely not but attacking mid is his position) Will osvaldo even start initially or will he be an impact sub whilst he transitions to English football? As a team prediction/tactic I would play: Boruc Clyne, lovrin, yoshinda, shaw, Wanyama, shneiderlin, Ramirez Lalanna Ricky Osvaldo Apologies in advance for incorrect player spelling.

Keep it simple, keep it short (to the tune of oggy oggy oggy) Ossie, ossie, ossie Oi oi oi OSSIE OI OSSIE OI Ossie, ossie, ossie Oi oi oi (Repeat as required) Could even be sung between stands!

There was a thread posted some time ago, maybe round time of the last euros which was along the lines of who are you more interested in, Saints or England. This is when we were in league 1 or championship and the resounding view was Saints. I made a comment that should cortese prem dream come true we will be likely to see more internationals, and with our academy hopefully English. The more saints players in the England team I'm sure the more interested saints fans will be. Now is perfect time to test this theory. Who will now watch tomorrows friendly solely based on Lambert featuring, and if he had t of been selected would you have bothered watching?

Last Saints Player to have a Testimonial?
ozzmeister replied to MINIBARCELONASAINT's topic in The Saints
Claus, Matt le'tiss or franny? Did Dodd or Svensson ever have a testimonial? -
FWIW I actually think the above is a good post, I'm thrilled as anyone is, but alpine is right, Ricky has only been picked because the 'clique' of normal forwards arnt available. Lets hope SRL can take this chance and now force his inclusion, he also needs another big season for saints!

If you could relive one footballing moment, what would it be?
ozzmeister replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
FA cup 2003 semi (or maybe quarter) when we played at villa park. Seeing a pub full of red and white was amazing! -
As I'm sure many have I've been following the ore season pictures. I've been taking a keen interest in Mayuka to see hoe much he is featuring. He seems to be at the forefront of things and also seems a bit of a joker (the pool picture jumps out especially). Whilst not maybe the most tented (to be fair we haven't seen much) the importance of big characters in the dressing room is always important! Are there any other players who have seemed to have lacked ability, but have been kept for the positive atmosphere they give?

So on each of the media outlets who have reported on the Victor signing hand had lots of comments from Kenyens saying how pleased they are, and that they are now Saints fans! Kenya has a huge population of passionate fans, is this a new outlet for us to increase our fan base, merchandising? It's also somewhere no other teams are tapping away at!

So Luke Shaw is 18 today. Does that mean (as strongly hinted in the media) that he will be signing up long term today? If this happens it will be by far the biggest signing of the summer, and a real demonstration that we don't need to sell/use our youngsters to the 'big' 4. Is there a press conference planned at any point?

Why is this a sticky???? If its based on some kids chatting to NC that a ridiculous reason, someone will look mighty foolish if this doesn't happen!

Ok ill bite, who is this bloke? I assume youth player?

Morgan seemed quite switched on in his interview recently.

When we were last in the PL wernt the majority of our players foreign: Niemi, svensson, lundekvam, a. Svensson, Fernandez, pahars to name a few? I think this is just part and part of being in the prem, plus, as everyone knows, the same players abroad probably cost half of a like to like English player.... What would an English Ramirez cost (based on potential as it was when we bought him)

I would strongly recommend Egypt! Went year before last in December and the weather was 25+ every day (would be even warmer in Oct). Stayed in Luxor. Everything was cheap, especially if you barter down. You do get a lot of hassle from people peddling their goods and services but that's all part of the char,m!
-
As we are effectively 'safe' why not blood the youngster - is it taggert, or at least have on the bench!
-
What about crazy legs grobbalar (spelling) ?
-
Yeah, he certainly had a few wobbles playing for us!

With regard to most disappointing the ex Ipswitch guy signed by Burley (he was Spanish, idiakas I think). Based on his past performances I expected better things but did not delivery. Age likely to have played a part but wasn't the creative play maker we had all hoped! Bennett the defender was also complete turd! I remember watching a game live at uni, could have been against Portsmouth and he was like a rabbit in headlights!

Ramiez, time to settle or not good enough?
ozzmeister replied to southamptonfclegend's topic in The Saints
A lot of young foreign players have a poor first season whilst they adjust (prime example is Henry - look how he ended up). Lets judge at the end of next season! -

Is MoPo the man to take us to the CL or only to the next step?
ozzmeister replied to ozzmeister's topic in The Saints
So is your view MoPo can establish up in the top 6, or does he have enough to push us jan top top 4? I'm sure man city had a fairly similar policy of managers as they went up the leagues.
