  1. Exactly. Not saying we will - we may not even get there - but after beating a godawful Norwich side comfortably, people seem to have decided that Leeds are now Barcelona in their prime. They’re about the same as us. If we get there, it could go either way. Let’s get there though and find out…
  2. Like they’ve blown us away the last two times we’ve played them you mean?
  3. Agree. And perfect for the little Triangles we play…
  4. Really cracking atmosphere yesterday. The first time I’ve been to The Hawthorns and it’s a fantastic ‘old school’ stadium with a brilliant atmosphere. Their fans deserve a lot of credit - and our support was also fantastic. Got to make SMS a noisy fortress on Friday too, even if things don’t immediately go to plan - got to keep the backing, positivity and noise. Going to be another tight one.
  5. He’s “good in training” apparently 🤷‍♂️
  6. I’m sure it will hurt, but will it change anything? Not a jot… he’ll look at the possession stats, continue to convince himself we played ‘well’ and just need to cut out ‘errors’. We perfectly illustrated what our midfield is capable of without Downes & Stu. Nothing. Actually felt for Charles, left with far too much to do with the passengers Aribo & Rothwell in front of him (Smallbone at least seemed to care, but is also limited). A portent for next season… One final footnote. How ineffectual is Arma as captain? I have no idea why he has that role. Doesn’t open his mouth. I’d much rather have THB or Bednarek as leader when JS is out. That said, the lack of leadership was palpable last night. Depressing way to limp over the (league) finishing line…
  7. Can’t really see what’s so wrong with wanting to stick with (or liking) our traditional identity, but hey-ho…
  8. Back to stripes, back to reality…🔴⚪️🔴⚪️
  9. Yeah, me too. And Jack. Great moment. Just need 5 more of those!
  10. Am sure shared elsewhere, but worth watching again anyway (not my footage, just saw it on Twitter)… https://x.com/yjw_x/status/1779191985598832851?s=46&t=6zx5qf2H7nuEX1l3EabHng
  11. Those four dropped points v Boro & Blackburn so so costly…
  12. Christ I thought some of our fans were dramatic…
  13. Which you know we will not… that’s way too obvious.
  14. I think he’s excellent, and tells it like it is. Always nails the challenges in our performance/tactics. As he does here re. the Jack Stephens issue… Southampton FC - S1.44 Goin' Home With Adam and Jo - BBC Sounds
  15. KWP in for Bazunu?
  16. That’s depressing to hear…
  17. Simply unbelievable.
  18. A fantastic player for us in a wonderful era, and an underrated manager. Recall Trevor Francis talking about us (under CN’s guidance) being the best exponents of ‘contropiede’ (counter attacking) he’d seen after we beat QPR 0-4 at Loftus Road. Can’t recall if it was that result or another thumping win, but bumped into him at a newsagents on Winchester Road after a match (both buying ‘The Pink’). Congratulated him, and got a chuckle, a wink and “Well I enjoyed it!”. RIP Chris.
  19. Well we will either have a weak team in the Prem, or a weak team in the Championship. At least with the former there is more money.
  20. I thought he was okay but not great, but playing in at least three different positions didn’t particularly help him or our cohesion. Assume Bree isn’t quite fit to start yet? Would rather have had him in at LB, and KWP at RB.
  21. I can ‘handle’ defeats like the one to Hull - at least they were better team by some margin. But defeats like today really boil my piss… it was dismal and it was self-inflicted. A pedestrian, workmanlike Millwall team and they made it look easy second half, like a training exercise - and we totally played into their hands. The team selection & subs beg questions too. Smallbone just can’t play holding midfielder. Should have played Charles - although he’s no Downes, at least it’s his natural position. I have no idea what he was even doing with Jack Stephens today. Also should have kept Che on who was working hard and providing a focal point for attacks. Arma should have replaced Brooks on the right who was ineffective. After Che went off we were even more toothless up front. Sulemana is simply a headless chicken who doesn’t fit the system. Frustrating. Frustrating. Frustrating. We’ve thrown away any realistic hope of automatic promotion with these two defeats.
  22. Should have bitten Everton’s hand off in the close season. Money could have been used on someone with end product.
