  1. Marillion - Brave - The Brave tour was awesome and probably one of the most mesmerising gigs I've been to. Vangelis - Soundtrack to Bladerunner - Recorded by Vangelis himself and released years after the film Pink Floyd - Wish you were here Journey - Infinity Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy This is seriously difficult as it could be a different 5 each day depending on how I'm feeling. I would say that on a day to day basis I listen to generally heavier rock than most of this but all of the above are albums i would turn to if stuck for something to chose. Would have like to get a BJH album in there - probably Eyes of the universe Massive fan of Bon jovi but can't pick one and a bit disallusioned with their current status. More recent loves are Within Temptation and Delain - but top 5 - I think not.
  2. Villa just plated Saints in a Subbuteo game in my house and Saints won 6-3 I was Saints and my son was Villa - I wasn't going to let him win that one.
  3. If you like District 9 then maybe a bit of Elysium - same director. Charlie, have you read the Hunger Games books, I know they are written for teenagers but they are still good.
  4. Loved it, have forwarded it to my Liverpool season ticket holding work colleague> Shall see what he says tomorrow.
  5. 1576 beat me to it!
  6. Or if you have Virgin cable watch it on Liverpool TV which I just have

  8. Wish they would also get rid of Poch's face on the saints forum page on Tapatalk forum list
  9. Vangelis - Bladerunner For me it helps set the scene to a (for me) fantastic film and without it the film would probably not be my fave film. Atmospheric beyond belief.
  10. Saw them on the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour - no Waters then. Saw Roger Waters The Wall last year at Wembley. I've also seen Gilmour on his own and again awesome. Both absolutely awesome, question is Would I go to see a Pink Floyd without Gilmour - NO Would I go to see Pink Floyd without Waters - yes Would I go to see Roger Waters plus friends playing PF music - yes Pink Floyd without Gilmour is not Pink Floyd, there are imitators but no one plays like Gilmour - Waters never recorded an album under the Pink Floyd banner without Gilmour once he had left - although I am sure that I will get pelters from the hard line early Floydians and Waters camp people now.
  11. Was there on Sunday - excellent. Is there comedy like this out there anymore? My wife's step brother was in the classroom scene in The Meaning of Life! Did Izzard and Myers appear on any other nights or was it just Sunday?
  12. Known in A&E as 'organ donors' My mum used to work in A&E in Winchester about 30 years ago and some of the accidents that came in then were horrific. It's not supposed to be so bad now. 2 years ago a bike went in the back of my car when I was stationary at a zebra crossing in rural Spain. He was waving at his mates in the local cafe and when he looked round it was too late to stop. I know there are many responsible riders out there but just like car drivers there are always the stupid ones.
  13. If you can get past the badge - Skoda. I have an Octavia VRS DSG diesel. Having had a 2003 non VRS model previously the step up is pretty amazing and it is pretty much a VW at a much lower price. You don't have to go stupid like me and get the fast one but you reap the benefits on the price Which put the Octavia ahead of the Insignia and the Mondeo I think last year fr company cars.
  14. Just read Cloud Atlas and it is quite different. I was surprised that David Mitchell (books author) was also involved in the screen play as there is so much missing from the film. The film also jumps around a lot more than the book and ends in a different timezone. In the book you start off in the 1800's and end up in the 1800's only visiting each timezone twice (i think) Can't quite work out which i preferred - book or film - I like both a lot.
  15. 49 years old. 1 12 18 23 25 34 Not enough to qualify, but pretty sure I am in one.
  16. Nearly half way through Cloud Atlas. Just finished the Sonmi section. A bit different to the film. Other sections quite true to the film.
  17. I'll be there. Hope to see some of our lads play. Was at the reverse in Copenhagen last year or whenever it was. You could watch the game with a beer in your hand there.
  18. Pink
  19. Saw Enders Game. Thought it was very good. Although it will never match the book.
  20. Did you see the Guzan save at Norwich? Pretty good, but not Banks good
  21. Work colleague who's a Liverpool season ticket holder said we deserved it as we played them off the park!
  22. watched REDS the other night - never heard of it. Was surprisingly enjoyable and amusing. Won't win any awards but I liked it.
  23. Totally agree - had to be one of the best gigs I have ever seen. Don't understand people filming it on their phones instead of watching it. Went with my brother in law who was there at Earls Court in 1981 - said this time round was damned good but didn't quite have the same impact as the 1981 version on a young 16 year old. Thought some of it was very moving - which I hadn't quite expected.
  24. See you there Trousers
