The new Marillion album - An Hour Before It's Dark. In my eyes one of their best. A thought provoking mix of social comment from the environment, the pandemic, poverty in Sierra Leone, Leonard Cohen and finally a 4 part suite that finishes with an emotional peaen to care workers that will bring many people to tears (this one included). The use of the Choir Noir is as inspired touch. There will be those that say - Marillion ended when Fish left - well to me they started when Fish left - that will be a controversial view and will probably get me some haters - but the band have been going for 33 years with Steve Hogarth up front and lyrically this is a triumph.

Halfway through book Eight of the Expanse - really is an excellent series. You(I) really care about the characters and the whole premise is pretty interesting. The series is excellent too although they have changed some things - one forced by the actor who plays Alex being under investigation for abuse - so interesting how they are going to get round that in series 6. Roll on book 9 and series 6.

Season 5 of The Expanse was epic - so glad they have signed up for Season 6

I drove myself home after breaking my leg - although didn’t know it at the time

Until we get a vaccine - and then go through the badly organised governement immunisation process - we will be going in and out of lockdowns - either locally or nationally. The circuit breaker will have the effect of halting the rise in infections but will also piss people off who think it's just inconvenient - and there will be less and less adherence to the rules - although not by me. I'm not saying I know what the answer is but I don't see this coming to an end anytime soon.

I liked the weird little fella!

I work in a company of approx 50-60 people. It is privately owned. The owner is - understandably distraught. The workers are worried. At present there have been no job losses but this will come I am sure. The talk of the government providing support to companies by paying workers salaries (as long as they don't make redundancies) could be a lifeline, but if the orders dry up and there is no work what do those workers do? I don't see how job losses in the private sector can be avoided and what the landscape will look like when we come out of this. Just got to stick it out and hope for the best.

It will have to be something with a long run. Obviously depends on your taste in watching material. Game of Thrones - haven't watched it - so could - son has the box set. Friends - See them all Film sets - LOTR and the Hobbit films Star wars and the spin offs I have a lot of DVDs and Blurays so really I shouldn't have a problem finding something to watch.

If you watched the Hunted programme where people tried to stay on the run then you will see that the government can pretty much track every vehicle if it's reasonably new. They were able to locate a car once they new it's registration. So big brother has been doing this for years already.

But what we have to remember is that all companies now have to show that they are not sexist in their recruitment. This can of course work the other way (ie against men) where I know that a certain organisation positively descriminated for women in replacing a high level male person - in 2 cases. There was no way the new recruit would be a man. Now I am not against women having these positions and in fact am sure that they will fill the position expertly - but is this now going too far the other way or is this the price we pay for the male run poor recruitment and treatment of women in the workplace over previous years? Do we only have ourselves to blame?

Skintsaint - I agree Bladeruuner 2049 was fantastic. I can understand the criticism from people who aren't into the genre or Bladerunner but then what are they expecting to see. There has been enough written about it to tell you that this is not a Michael Bay crash, bang, boom blockbuster. The look, feel and sound of the new film suits me perfectly. Will probably go again and buy it when it comes out on bluray and then buy the special edition version when that comes out.

I'll be looking into Discovery this weekend. My main focus though is on going to see Bladerunner 2049 on Tuesday at the BFI Imax in Waterloo.

The rules state that both feet have to be over the line for it to be a foul throw. I was surprised when I learnt this a few years ago at a talk by the Surrey FA referees representative. And maybe I should have read the whole thread before posting this as it's mentioned above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm with kitch! The PA is truly awful

It's the money washing around the game that is off putting. Players earning more in a week than many people earn in 10 years. It's just not right. The imbalance between the big clubs and the medium to small clubs. When there are football pitches being built on and a lack of coaches for the youngsters and the money just keeps going into the players pockets it puts me off. I am not into watching football at the moment, just can't bring myself to do it. Paralympics and Olympics before, Cricket before that. What will I do once Rio is over?

So does that mean that Sky hate Leicester. Sky have shown Arsenal 12 times more this season than Leicester. Personally I think MOTD has been pretty good to Saints - I've never heard Alan Shearer say anything other than good things about us. Now if you want to have a go at someone go listen to that moron Paul Merson - he really doesn't like us.

Saw him and his Netherlands team take England apart at Wembley around 1976. Cruyff, Johnnoy Rep, Neeskens etc. My first ever England game - school trip. They did them a lot then.
