How big that goal by Gavin was at Preston!

Perfect way to start the Saturday afternoon. Killed the game off in the first half, keep the squad happy by giving them game time, and come away 1-3 winners, into autos and break a club record. on the note of records what is are homing winning run and what is the record. I know we have never won more than 6 in a row home and away, but wondering what the home record is.
-
And the mass changes to keep the squad happy.
-
Not the same since making unneeded changes, but he has to keep everyone happy. Great headache to have.
-
Very overdue, should have been done years ago. It is a bit like when the club gave the away fans the Archers Road end 🤦🏻♂️
-
It will be a draw.

Sheffield Wednesday have hit some better form of recent, but I do not see a problem with this game for us. 3/4-0.
-
Held the line and made a great run. Brilliant.

Would be nice to have a cup run, but not the most important. I think we will progress to the 4th round. Should then get Palace surely, been a while! 🙄

I would like to point out that we have 2 strikers that banged the goals in for Blackburn and Birmingham at this level. I don’t see this as the problem, more our laboured tappy approach. Don’t get me wrong we are on a great run so the balance of the team is great, but we need to get the killer pass into the strikers who make the runs, every few seconds when attacking, but we opt to go backward or sideways on the whole, and build again. I think another striker and we will be saying the same, we just need to be braver and more direct more often. Maybe it is a playmaker that is needed to see the killer pass?

Sounds like all but a handful of Saints games this season, much more entertaining.

WBA Millwall Hull Preston there are 7 gained. Swings and roundabouts, but the most important thing… we are not losing late on.
-
No it’s just how we play. 18 unbeaten, one off equalling the club record. Not to shabby at all.

When will THB and Sam Edozie get full England caps?

Don’t think they will in the championship and do not think they are anywhere near good enough for the England squad. -
Good.

I see this as one of a few games that are a banana skin during the rest of the season along with the below sort of games, West Brom, Leeds, Leicester, Birmingham, Blackburn and even Cardiff. On paper some of these are obvious but the others are teams that I see as tricky and traditionally hard away games. Saying this we will probably win all the about and lose at home to Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and Huddersfield. 2-2 New Year’s Day

Adams movement the whole game was brilliant. In the second half we were level with the line in the Itchen and the amount of runs that are made is truly amazing. Every few seconds one of the line will make a run and then drop back in. Never really noticed it before. Adams off the ball work is brilliant.

Let’s be brave up top and roll someone over! Come on Saints! 2-1 -
So if we are drawing going into injury time we win, if we are winning by 1 going into injury time we draw. There is a mentality thing going on here. Or are the tactics wrong when we are only 1 up? If we killed games off where we should be (not today), like Bristol City, then we would not go into injury time needing a winner of hanging on. I fear that it will be these kind of matches today, Huddersfield and Rotherham where we will miss out on the autos. There is something that is just not clicking into place. But still 12 games without a defeat, what’s our record?

Hmm very odd! This is a little bit 80’s.

To much singing about hating the Skates creeping in. I prefer to support Southampton and the players on the pitch, but each to their own.
