Very true and I am aware of this. Same as any league, it is more interesting when you are winning most weeks. But as a competition I think it is much better, even if the quality is not. I still think we have an excellent chance of going up, but I think we can get a second crack of the whip next season before we turn into one of a number of ex premier league teams that have lost their way. But on the flip side we have come back from league 1 on minus 10 points and that was great fun, but flip that again going the other way was not, but we were neglected as a club. We are in a much better place IMO.

By the time we play Leeds they will be champions. They are really looking unstoppable. Looks like Ipswich have had their ‘bad patch’ and Leicester a wobbling a little and will wobble more with Leeds picking up wins every week and the last 10 minutes yesterday. I honestly think Leeds are way ahead of everyone in the championship now, and even they had a wobble a while back. Now us, we’ll be are having a wobble for sure and again it is because we tried to fix something that was not broke before the end of the transfer window in January. We did not need the loan players and should have carried on with the squad we had, a squad where we were just about keeping everyone happy, which is a huge part of team spirit, all it takes is a slight change in dynamics or personal and that can rock the boat. Also this showed today as RM seemed to not know who to bring on and the best way to play, like in September. Also I think I would have preferred to lose to Watford in the FA Cup as the trip to Anfield may be something to do with the drop in form intensity, again no coincidence in this fixture (shop window at the big boys) and the drop in form). Don’t get me wrong it is nice to progress in a cup competition, and if we won it would be amazing, no matter how unlikely this seems at this moment in time. Also I will say this again, we did not need a striker in January, we have 2 strikers that are proven at this level, who’s movement off the ball is second to none at this level. Our problem for the majority of this season is being too laboured on the ball and not having a JWP or Tella to spot these runs and unlock the defence. Instead we go sideways or backwards to keep the ball. We just need to shift from this 70-80% possession to a bit lower, but be slightly more direct and purposeful with the ball, even if the majority of the time if might not come off, it is better than keeping the ball for longer, wasting time and still not having an end product. Play football yes, but more guts in the final 3rd, or more belief in theirselves and their ability. it is looking like the playoffs, but by the end of May we might be saying, ‘What a way to go up’, as it will be the one of the best to win the playoff final at Wembley. But we might need to hit a bit of form before we go into them. I have said this all along, the championship is far more interesting than the stale premier league, but there is always the big part as a football fan of wanting your team to play at the highest level over ‘more interesting’.

Personally I think we had a pretty settled squad and team that we did not need to bring in the loan players in January. We had enough problems keeping everyone happy as it was. I think we have muddied the water a little and it has been our downfall. On the flip side to this if there are injury’s on the run in we will be glad for the bigger squad. I just feel that sometimes you just do not need to do anything and carry on as you are.

I’m not looking forward to it because it is Anfield, come on most have us have been their a good few times, and more than most Liverpool fans I know, but for my son who is 12 and his cousin who is 10. We are likely to get battered, but they will love it and that is what football is all about. Not that you would think it in here as most do not seem to like Saints games at all.

Would love to see Eastleigh get into the league and in turn Kelvin to have success as a manager.

Looking at the next lot of fixtures we need Leeds to get turned over on Friday, but I think they will win. Then they seem to have quite a relatively easy run, like Ipswich (but they are looking a little patchy like us. I do think we will have a good run of results, but it is looking like Leicester and Leeds to go up. Leicester just because they are so far ahead and I think we will be too patchy with form, but Leeds might catch them, especially if they beat Leicester. Anyway, we will win this 4-0.

90 plus minute games everyone. 🙄 Quarter of the way through.

Not started great. Must be a Tuesday night thing!

Yes a the sheer anger of his team mates, at half time and still at the end of the game. It must be more frustration than anger, but it should not be allowed. VAR did work correctly on this occasion.

Weirdly, my son goes to a secondary school in Carlisle and there is another Saints fan there and his name is Fraser, the same as my son. Also I referee in Cumbria on the Cumberland FA and the head ref there is a Saints fan, who used to work with my wife. My sister-in-law and my nephews have a neighbour who I are friends with my sister in law and there kid is called Matty, he is friends with my nephews and of course they are a family of Saints fans! I just find this all totally bizarre.

That was a clumsy challenge.

Every team including us are capable of chocking. It is our move next.

Leicester fans are being a little cocky, thinking it is all over. Would love us and Leeds to overturn them and go up automatically, with Sky getting their title decider instead on the last day. It’s a long shot, but this football and it has been seen before. I would LOVE it! 😉

I always put a bet on for the below to win Saints, skates, Bournemouth, Reading, Torquay. I don’t know why and it never comes in!
-
Can’t see Leeds not winning today, they are really on a hot streak. Need someone to beat them to see how they react as their confidence is sky high at the moment and quite rightly so. Ipswich should be but are not on my radar.

After leaking 6 goals in 2 games, we looked solid tonight, with only a couple of days to work on the changes. Much higher tempo and pressing higher up the field. Impressive stuff for our 3rd game in 6 days.

Their manager kicked a ball when still in play.
-
Great dilemma to have. I would stick to the winning team every time myself.
-
Yeah but losing a game changed the mindset. I had this as the banana skin, but had mentioned since that the pressure had changed and we could now bounce back. A bit like a refocus. Ok we will never know, but if we did not lose on Tuesday, we could have tonight instead, especially if they got that penalty 😂

Away win against top 5 side who are in form, a clean sheet and we score again. Scored in every game since September, 28, 28 games since a shut out! 😊
-
I had this as the game that would end our run. Now it has ended this could go one of 2 ways for me, we bounce right back and win or return to the terrible September form for a bit, so draw 2-2. 😂

Thought the panto season was over! Very sad indeed. 24 unbeaten at the time, what will happen when we lose, on the pitch demanding the board to quit?

I saw that as a mocking cry, he knew, he knew!
