I'd dearly love to see us win a major trophy, and we've come agonisingly close a few times, but I'd never exchange it for relegation (look what happened the last time). I think us Saints fans need to think more pragmatically, for me our "trophies" are Matt Le Tissier, Rickie Lambert, our academy, the Mane / Long scoring records and our proud tradition of being a Premier League club. Edit: Oh and smashing the skates 0-4 in their own back toilet!

Also, don't forget that every league place is worth >£1m in prize money.

Merry Bloomin' Christmas

Guys, I know things have been **** lately, but that was a ****ing brilliant first half. I said after the West Ham game that our only mission was to find 3 worse teams than us and that we'd (perhaps) found 2 of them in Norwich and Watford. Villa are definite candidates for the 3rd spot and a win today would also put us in reasonable shape for a full-blooded approach to the transfer window. Let's hope we hold on and maybe even score a few more in the 2nd half so we can enjoy Christmas outside the bottom 3!

Oh for a Huddersfield style 3-1 away win to get us into the holiday mood. Come on Saints!

Thanks LOL! I think we've all accepted that we'll only stay up if we find 3 worse teams than us. We MAY have found 2 of them in Watford and Norwich and I guess Villa are the mostly likely candidate for position number 3. I guess we'll know more next weekend.

Yeah, sounds like we’re in a similar mindset. We simply have to get 3 / 4 points (preferably the game against Villa) or things will start to look very worrying again very quickly. Conversely, another 2 wins and it could look great!

****ed about today, but we’d be happy with 6 points from 9 a week ago. Those wins were so important and should mean our transfer window is focused on staying up rather than planning for the Championship. Another win against West Ham or Villa would be very welcome though.

Totally predictable unfortunately, this team is so frustrating.

I will happily take a point and clean sheet to be honest.

Let’s be honest, Everton won’t be in the mix at the end of the season, so perhaps dropping back into the bottom 3 will give us a few extra % determination tomorrow. I just fear that the Leicester result will send us down due to our shockingly bad goal difference.

Absolutely crucial win. Let’s not kid ourselves that we’re definitely going to kick on and climb to mid-table, but at least we’ve beaten the Derby record low points tally of 11!

Why so much time added on again? Liverpool win and they get about 2 minutes added on and they had a red card as well.
