  1. Am assuming I've not missed it, but Ryan Giggs isn't on the list and I guess that's because of his current circumstances (surely he would be on there otherwise)? If true then this isn't just about football. I personally think that's ok, as personal conduct is important to people in many walks of life. That said, there's a massive difference between (alleged) criminal activity and some controversial opinion posted on Twitter. It's personal preference at the end of the day, but I really hope all Saints fans get behind MLT and put a vote in for him to recognise the incredible contribution he made towards us in those early Premier League years. We could be a very different looking club now if it wasn't for him! I've been shot down for saying this before, but I value MLT's legacy as greater than any trophy we could have won over the years so him getting in would be fantastic for the club and the fans. Get those votes in!
  2. Shearer for sure for his goalscoring record. Can't argue too much with Henry I guess but I personally don't rate him higher than MLT 🙂
  3. How did Shearer get in out of interest? Was he a special pick along with Henry or something?
  4. Can’t wait for this season to end. I think we all need a break from this rubbish. I know it’s the same for every club, but we look in desperate need of time out, to reset, and hopefully return to more familiar match day routines (kick off times, fans etc.). I personally hope we look to rebuild with Ralph still in charge, but I appreciate that view is probably not welcomed. Such a shame after the promising start, but we appear to have blown our load by trying to run a marathon at 100m speed.
  5. I see Liverpool have just posted a cringeworthy apology video. It's a bit like telling your kids that you're going to offload them for adoption and then 24 hours later saying you didn't realise how much it would hurt them. Apology not accepted!
  6. Yup, didn’t bother. I’m sorry if that offends you but I had this strong feeling come over me this afternoon that we were going to be shite so spent time with my little one whilst keeping track of the score online. In different circumstances I’d have tuned in, but the reality is that we went out without any real fight and that’s been us since the turn of the year sadly. We’re in a horrible rut and are lacking in talent and belief and I’m afraid all the enthusiasm in the world was never going to change the inevitability of the result this evening. Fucking depressing but the truth.
  7. Didn’t bother tuning in as had this feeling we’d be abject. Nevertheless, doesn’t mean I’m any less disappointed than those who watched it. 0 shots on target? FFS!
  8. Well despite the debacle on Monday, I'm still carrying some hope (if not expectation) into this game. I think all we really want is to see a fully committed display and one hopes the absence of a notable crowd won't impact that. They could do well to watch highlights of the Watford semi-final from 2003. The current squad is way more talented than that one, in my opinion, but the sheer effort put in by every man that day, for the whole game, should be used as the benchmark for what we expect to see on Sunday. I don't think that's unreasonable really...
  9. That's a bit like saying that Macauley Culkin has proven himself to be a top child actor and could still do a job now 😃
  10. Saving ourselves for a storming win against Leicester clearly
  11. The good old days where a goal scored was a definite goal scored pretty much straight-away. Imagine that goal today, those wild celebrations only for it then being ruled out a few minutes later because Matt Le Tiss's nose was offside or something.
  12. That hat-trick, one of my happiest memories of being at a game. Lovely sunny day, absolute scenes, and then Long scoring a worldy too!
  13. I’m starting to get to the age where I probably look a bit dumb wearing a replica shirt, but do love the retro ones. I live in Exeter so may have frequented said bar myself!
  14. Definite present for the Saints fan who has everything (and likes Gin) 😃
  15. "In collaboration with Hampshire's Winchester Distillery, we have created a limited edition bespoke gin with carefully sourced botanicals including grass from the St Mary's Stadium pitch"
  16. Agreed! Really like JV, and very much hope he stays put, but of all the players we would have lost, I wouldn't have any hard feelings towards him if he did go. Some of the stick he received from our fan base prior to this season was savage so we'd have no right to play the 'loyalty' card.
  17. Retro shirts, but sadly without the retro prices. Looks like they've lumped another £10 on the price of them compared to the last set!
  18. I'd happily have him on a 12-month contract. Even if he might not be in my starting 11 he would make our bench look a lot stronger than it has been of late. I also don't think you can put a value on his experience, plus he seems a good role model to have around the place.
  19. A good listen as always, the pod always helps me through the first day of the working week! 😃
  20. All of a sudden, we're in a great position. Most players now back from injury, still need a few more wins to guarantee safety and everyone competing for the cup game. Seems like a perfect mix to me. I'm starting to fancy our chances against Leicester 😮
  21. Yup, I expect we'll all remember which sofa we were on when we won the cup of '21 though 😃
  22. Very happy memories of sitting there watching Saints 4-0 up on my birthday thinking this was the start of our upward trajectory. Carlisle fans that I met on the day were all really decent. Must have been quite daunting for them seeing so many Saints supporters there (so much so that I think us winning seemed inevitable). Hopefully in 10 years time we'll be looking back on our 2021 FA Cup triumph 🙂
  23. @Fan The Flames @Micky @skintsaint Glad you guys like my concept design 😂 Think I'll stick to the day job 😎
  24. Curiosity got the better of me, so I mocked up my idea. Quite like it 🙂
  25. Thought he was excellent last night, probably Man of the Match. He showcased his remarkable consistency with set pieces and crossing, which in fairness, it probably doesn't matter who the opposition are. I'm sure Southgate knows already whether he's going to make the squad.
