  1. I have such low expectations whenever we play a Man City or Liverpool. Add in Mike Dean and the default position is "please don't get battered 9-0". I was really happy with the performance until the penalty, which was soft IMO. That and the subs Man City made absolutely killed us and I'm glad we escaped with a 1-4. As has been said before, to win these games you need everyone putting in a 9 / 10 star performance, them being off the boil AND having luck on our side. The frustration is that all those ingredients were present for the first 60 minutes (apart from Stephens, of course), but the complete opposite happened in the final 30 and we came out of the game feeling much worse than we should have. This reminds me massively of the 1-4 against the Skates in the cup some years ago now.
  2. You always know a run of shit results is just round the corner, so you just have to enjoy the good times whilst they last. Hopefully Watford are so bad that we couldn’t possibly make it 3 defeats in a row.
  3. Newcastle away this season?
  4. Trying not to sound like an arsehole here, but any thinking that the whole “we’re with Ukraine” thing might have had an impact on our mindset today. Don’t get me wrong, a most noble gesture, just fascinated by how different factors can affect how games turn out.
  5. In my time watching him (mid to late 90's) he was invariably an advanced central midfielder but with a license to roam wherever he could have most influence. What was shown on team sheets, and where he ended up were often two different things.
  6. Yeah I feel the same, just can’t imagine Southgate involving himself in something untoward.
  7. It does seem suspicious, but how on earth do you pull off a hooky draw?
  8. I’m happy to hold my hands up and admit I massively overreacted (not in a good way) to the starting 11. Bloody well done to each and every one tonight. 😇
  9. And picked Valery because he was responsible for us nearly going out at Swansea 🤦🏻‍♂️
  10. In fairness, Carrillo did nothing for our £19m, whereas Kepa has succeeded in being counter productive for their £71m!
  11. Kepa must be one of the worst signings in history!
  12. Skates level at the death, there'll be scenes of jubilation in the streets tonight at their incredible point at home to Fleetwood.
  13. But, but, but the history, the history!
  14. Thought it was odd too! Plenty far worse things to criticise (Conte for example). Jenas is a classic example of jobs for the boys. Bet there’s a million better qualified people to host The One Show than him.
  15. Yup, plus Norwich (currently in 18th) are only averaging 0.74 points a game. If they continue at that rate then they'll also achieve 28 points.
  16. I know this isn't the question being asked, but didn't we come from 2-0 down against Burnley as recently as last April?
  17. 66-1 when I looked yesterday. Safe as houses!
  18. f**k me, what drama. I remember when we drew with Brighton how I said it was hard to like this team. Ever since they’ve been the complete opposite, a joy to behold 😇
  19. That's proper despicable behavior. Got to love his comment since: "They are loved and cherished by our entire family" Yeah right, because that's exactly what you do when you love and and cherish something.
  20. Probably full of eBay scalpers looking to make a quick buck!
  21. Seems an obvious idea to introduce safe standing and move the away fans at the same time. There must surely be a solution that means we can have all The Northam for ourselves. Reckon it would be worth a point or two a season! It made such a difference at The Dell when we got hold of the Archers Road end (what a mighty little stand that was!).
  22. I believe the last time we faced Coventry at home was in 2012, when we sealed promotion and they were relegated to League One. Terrible day for a club that was pretty much in the same position as us when the Premier League was founded. I was sat right next to their fans that day and they put on a great show of support despite events back then. A good time to reflect on what we've achieved in the last 10 years. I'll happily take another 4-0 win too 🙂
  23. Yup, anyone would think he's too lazy to do any proper research and just picks people who scored. Oh wait...
  24. By my reckoning, Walker Peters is the first Saints player to make his 'prestigious' Team of the Week this entire season. Think about that, about 20 weeks in and 220 spaces up for grabs and we make up less than half a percent of his picks. Even when we got that draw away to City he snubbed all our team. This wally is the epitome of everything that's wrong with the game and why we'll probably never put a crack in the glass ceiling above us. Prick.
