As mentioned earlier, the links below for TSP Episode 51 (for anyone wishing to listen) The 3 of us reflect on another disappointing result at Fulham, as well as ahead to the upcoming games against Leicester City (Carabao Cup) and Manchester United (Premier League). Thankfully, to bring some much needed enjoyment (hopefully!), this week's Total Recall goes all the way back to April 1996 - and Saints fantastic 3-1 win over Alex Ferguson's Red Devils. Will Dawe and Leon Burton from Saints Archive join us to reminisce about a much better moment in time. Full TSP51 discussion points: > The international break > Fulham defeat > Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg © > Stuart Armstrong off the mark > Mark Hughes - what now? > TSP Poll - Stick or twist? > Total Recall - Man Utd, April ‘96 > Leicester City Cup game preview > Manchester United PL preview Podcast links: acast: https://bit.ly/2r7zMzG iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2r6R8wp Patreon: www.patreon.com/totalsaintspod Thanks as always to those who do listen. Cheers Ben (and Steve and Adam)

Thanks guys. Glad you enjoyed it (if you can call it that!) Think its easy to bash player performances at the moment, especially when emotions are high. Having stats to back it up will always add more credibility to/for an opinion. Its evident to all that Austin has to offer more than he currently is. The bigger question is whether he can be bothered to do so. But that could go for almost all of them! Anyway, I'll post the Episode 51 Podcast links (for those that would like to listen) further down here, when I'm home from work later tonight. Cheers Ben

Having reached our 50th Episode birthday - most of which have been discussing thrown away leads and dropped points - and also with so much going on at Saints in the past week, I thought I’d post a one off TSP thread. With Steve away in Sri Lanka, Adam and I chat through everything that’s happened - including: * The Watford draw * Gabbiadini scoring * Cedric (mainly being cr*p) * Simon Hooper (also being cr*p) * Charlie Austin’s ‘outburst’ * Charlie Austin’s ‘outburst’ Parklife style * Total Recall - Ex-Saints in World War 1 * Les Reed/Martin Hunter being given the boot * Ralph’s ‘BIG INTERVIEW’ with Adam - and what the future now does (or doesn’t) look like * “Spaces becoming opportunities” - or something like that! * Mr Gao and his ‘investment’ to date Anyway, should you feel like listening to our views/Adam’s analysis, then you can via the following: > SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2zLCJtH > acast: https://bit.ly/2RM4eur > iTunes: https://apple.co/2FiJ0zk > Patreon: https://bit.ly/2B0oqmJ Thanks as always for the feedback, and hope the extended version this week covers off some of the key points you’d want to hear/expect to be discussed by Adam after a turbulent week. Thanks Ben

Considering everything that is going on on the pitch currently (or isn't!), Episode 49 of Total Saints Podcast seemed to turn out alright in the end. Ben, Steve and Adam review on the drab 0-0 draw with Newcastle. Many deemed it 'must win', but again it was a largely a load of rubbish. We also reflect on the sad goings on at Leicester City, that meant the postponement of our Carabao Cup fixture this week - and quite rightly so. We also discuss the next PL fixture against Manchester City - with a large amount of nervousness and pessimism! Finally, to break up the monotony of Saints in the current period, we introduce our first/pilot 'Total Recall' feature, where we will look back at memorable wins (maximum of one a Pod!) from over the years - players, goals, decisions etc. Our first (obviously!) is the 2003 December stuffing of Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth. Glorious stuff! The Podcast is available on a number of channels, including Google Podcasts and the below links: SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2EOhm0s iTunes: https://apple.co/2FiJ0zk acast: https://bit.ly/2qkc8iN Hope (for those wishing to listen) it brings an element of lightheartedness, and levelheadedness, to proceedings. Always happy to take feedback - positive and/or constructive. Cheers B

Adam, Steve and Ben are reunited for this week's Episode 48 of Total Saints Podcast - and its nice to have something other than a defeat to talk about! The Podcast covers: Steve on England in Sevilla. ️ Adam on Hawaii The Bournemouth draw CB selections *♂️ Footballers tweeting/on social media Fan surveys Leonardo Jardim link ⚫️ Newcastle United preview Should you wish to listen to the Podcast then you can via any of the below links: SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2yXtXZ8 iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys acast: https://bit.ly/2qCeo8a Despite a few technical gremlins we managed to get through it and, I hope, provide some interesting chat, more in line with some of the previous feedback. Fingers crossed for 3 points against Newcastle! Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the feedback. Whilst agreeing with you to a certain level, we’re also only 8 games into the season, and our Podcast tries not to overreact at each and every opportunity (on any subject, including recruitment) like some may. We do try to remain level-headed and consider all pros and cons. Thanks for listening

Evening All, The latest Podcast - Episode 47 is out now. I'll cut the glamourous sales pitch out - but, rest assured, it does features (more) discussion about questionable tactics and defending by Saints! If you want to listen then great. Its only 33 minutes - although Adam isn't on this week (he was 'lucky' enough to miss the game on Sunday!). If you don't, we understand. Its painful enough watching it all without us then reminding you. Links here for the thick-skinned: acast: https://bit.ly/2qCeo8a iTunes: https://apple.co/2FiJ0zk SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2RBUx2o Up The Saints! B

Episode 46 of Total Saints Podcast is available for you to listen to now (if you'd like too). With so many similarities cropping up every week (i.e. defending poorly and not winning football matches!), we break up the monotony this week by talking about Saints in the USA. Joe Prince-Wright (NBC Sports & big Saints fan) joins Adam, Ben and Steve to talk about Wolves, Everton, Chelsea and of course 'brand America' - in particular whether Gao's Chinese takeover has thrown a potential spanner in Ralph Krueger's US dream.... Paul Cox, a Hampshire lad who is now based in Nebraska, talks about his involvement with the Club's North American Partnership - offering coaching and education to a select group of teams/youngsters across the States. You can listen to the Podcast via any of these channels: iTunes: https://bit.ly/2NfjTQm acast: https://bit.ly/2P3mtun SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2NfjTQm No doubting it'll be nice to have a win to talk again soon - maybe even a draw! Sigh....

The International break is over, and Total Saints Podcast is back, with Episode 45 out now. Sadly, almost as predictably as Saints self-destruction at Anfield, we're back to talking about failing to hold a lead and throwing away points! The modern 'Southampton Way'. Like the film Groundhog Day, as Steve reminds us in the Pod! (One for the older film fans there) Anyway, should you decide your want to, then you can listen to the Podcast here: SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2Ib8ZKy acast: https://bit.ly/2IcLPDy iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys We chat Brighton, L*verpool, Wolves, pre-match light shows, Hojbjerg thunderbolts and zonal flipping marking! Anyway, onwards to Molineux - where Steve also thinks it'll be some game...!

A win - an actual Premier League win! Yes, Episode 44 of Total Saints Podcast was out last evening, with Adam, Ben and Steve having a rare 3 points too, if we're absolutely honest, complete wallow about! (Note: Steve, as expected, refuses to get more carried away than he needs too! ) In the Podcast we talk about all the ins and outs from the match at Crystal Palace, and also reflect on Alex McCarthy's call-up to the England squad. Ben also can't let Quincy Promes' move to Sevilla pass without asking Adam whether Saints really were keen on him and/or whether it was just a smokescreen for a frankly dreadful January transfer window! Lastly, the Episode includes a TSP Fantasy Premier League update - which hopefully a few of you are partaking in. You can find the Podcast via your favourite Pod provider, including: acast: https://bit.ly/2LYM7ho iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2wHHWBO Can Saints now push on from here, or do the guys think the International Break has come at just the wrong time? You'll have to listen (if you wish too) to find out! Thanks Ben

This week's Podcast - Episode 43 - is now available to listen to (should you wish) Like many from last season, we talk about Saints throwing away points, via a last minute goal, in a game they largely controlled (at least for the first 55 minutes anyway!). Sigh. Adam Leitch, Steve Grant and Ben Stanfield talk about the disappointing 2-1 defeat to Leicester, and preview both the Brighton and Crystal Palace fixtures this coming week. On a lighter note, thankfully, Ben also catches up with former Saints' Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach, Nick Harvey, to reminisce about more enjoyable times. The days of Nigel Adkins, Rickie Lambert, Wembley visits, promotions and the advancement of fitness technology/methods for elite sportsman/sportswoman. Nick also answers an interesting question, on sporting endurance/cramps, from one of our listeners. You can listen to the Podcast via any of these sites: acast: https://bit.ly/2obMonT iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2BQZkJt PlayerFM: https://bit.ly/2whxnFp We’re also available on Google Podcasts, via the Google Play Store! Another important week ahead of Saints now. Really hoping the next Podcast will give us something different to 'sing about'.... Thanks, as always, to those of you on SWF who take the time to listen. Cheers B

Its another content-packed edition of TSP this week - Episode 42. Few things in life are guaranteed - but Saints failing to pick up 3 points at Goodison Park feels like one of them! And so it proved again in this past weekend, as Everton came out 2-1 winners. Steve, Adam and Ben discuss the performance against The Toffees, and also look ahead to the next encounter for Saints, at home to Claude Puel's Leicester City. In between, the guys reflect on the St. Mary's Fans Forum last week - including the performance of both Ralph Krueger (Chairman) and Les Reed (Vice-Chairman of Football). What exactly did they make of Thursday's face-to-face with the fans? Well, you'll have to listen to find out..... acast: https://bit.ly/2OOww6c iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2N1mZYM Thanks, as always, to those who enjoy listening to our Podcast. Its another action packed Podcast this week, in Episode 41 of Total Saints Podcast Steve, Adam and myself chat about pyrotechnics, a fairly drab 0-0 draw for Saints in their Premier League opener against Burnley, the end of the transfer window (keeping Adam on his toes, as Danny Ings signed very late in the day!) and also preview the tough looking away trip to Marco Silva's Everton next weekend. Evening All, The Total Saints Podcast team - Ben, Adam and Steve - resume Saints-related discussion in Episode 40 (for those who wish to listen to it) With pre-season now completed, after a win against Celta de Vigo and a disappointing 3-0 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach, its full steam ahead towards Burnley next weekend, and the opening day Premier League fixture. We reflect on Saints' overall preseason campaign, calling out some of the individuals who've impressed, as well as preview the St. Mary's visit of the Clarets. Sandwiched in the middle, listeners answer our "if you had one wish for Saints this season, what would it be?" question. There's a range of hopes on that, including the panel's themselves. But will any come true? Who knows! You can find Episode 40 of the Podcast here: iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys acast: https://bit.ly/2qCeo8a SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2Of4xMs Total Saints Podcast is a dedicated weekly podcast, going to the heart of all things Saints.
