Back-to-back Saints wins in the Premier League - how enjoyable! Episode 61 looks back at the 3 points against Everton - discussing Prowsey, own goals, confidence, smiles and Ralph Hasenhuttl. Adam also gives a transfer window update, and we look back at last week's Fans Forum with Hasenhuttl, Krueger and co. We're also joined by Will and Leon from Saints Archive to 'recall' the 2008 Sheffield United win at St. Mary's - retaining our Championship position on the last day of the season. It also includes me telling everyone how I ended up kissing Paddy Kenny...! A very hold thread here (thanks to SuperSAINT for also flagging), but - as we had Grant Coleman on Total Saints Podcast this past weekend - thought I'd post the links to the Episode, in case anyone hadn't seen it and/or wanted to listen. Grant reminisced on some of his memories working in and around Saints, and the South Coast, during the early-to-mid 90s. We also tried to clear up the "who did he really support" question..... Thanks SuperSaint. Came across it when researching for the Pod actually - hence mentioning the "couldn't confirm which game they were commentating on until 3:05pm" question. Tried desperately hard to find the old jingle. But no luck. Lost in the analogue-to-digital conversion it would appear. Anyway, will drop the links to the Podcast in that thread tonight, in case anyone is interested/missed them above

The latest Episode of TSP (Episode 60) is now available for anyone that would like to listen. We reflect on a superb 3 points for Saints at Leicester City, as well as discussing Le Tiss becoming an Ambassador for Saints, and the potential opportunity for some of the loanees who've returned to the Club over the past 7-10 days. Finally we chat briefly about the Derby County FA Cup replay, and look ahead to Everton's visit to St. Mary's next weekend. Our Total Recall this week sees former Radio Solent Sports Editor, Grant Coleman, join us. Grant reminisces on some of his memories working in and around Saints, and the South Coast, during the early-to-mid 90s. You can find the Podcast here: SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2VJssrY acast: https://bit.ly/2ClySos iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys Thanks, as always, to those that take the time to listen to us, UTS, B

After back-to-back wins, it was back-to-back losses for Saints this week, firstly against West Ham United and then Manchester City. Episode 58 sees Adam, Steve and Ben reflect on those setbacks for Hasenhuttl, summarise 2018 and look ahead to 2019 (along with some of our listeners views), before previewing the tough looking trips to Chelsea and Derby this coming week. Should you wish to listen to the Podcast, you can find the links here: iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2CGGpzz acast: https://bit.ly/2rDv9gW You can also find TSP on other channels as well, including Player FM and Google Podcasts. Thanks for all the support/listens in 2018, and a very Happy New Year to all of you, Ben, Adam and Steve.

TSP57 is our Christmas Special, with Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, Daily Echo) and Ben Stanfield (Host of TSP) getting a rare chance to catch up and record in person (for that reason, we gave Steve the Pod off!) The Episode reflects on another great win for Ralph Hasenhuttl's Saints team (back-to-back wins for the first time since April 2017 indeed!), this time up at Huddersfield Town. There's also a quickfire quiz, where Adam is put under the spotlight on his knowledge of Christmas - including how many reindeer he can name - before our latest installment of "AskAdam". Finally we cover off West Ham United, ahead of their visit to 'Fortress St. Mary's'. You can find the Podcast links here: acast: https://bit.ly/2EGfKnL iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2rTpxiW Wherever you are in the world, and assuming you are celebrating it, we wish you a very happy TSP Christmas. No, this isn't a drill..........we've won a Premier League football match! Adam (Leitch), Steve (Grant) and myself thoroughly enjoy every moment in reviewing the 3-2 St. Mary's win for Saints over Arsenal. Ralph Hasenhuttl's first home game as manager. Once we've calmed down from that, we look ahead to next weekend's game at Huddersfield. A fixture that suddenly looks a lot more appealing for Saints fans. Finally, our Total Recall sees Will Dawe and Leon Burton (from Saints Archive) help us look back at Chelsea 1 Southampton 3 from October 2015. TSP55 is a bundle of energy and happiness. What a pleasant change (for you and us!) You can find the Podcast here: acast: https://bit.ly/2rDv9gW iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2S69kCc Thanks - and Up The Saints! A new manager - but same old Saints! Yet another calamitous individual defensive error, this time by Jannik Vestergaard, saw Saints gift 3 points to Cardiff City this past weekend in the Premier League. Reflecting on that disastrous result, and also previewing Arsenal in the upcoming EPL fixture, Ben Stanfield (Host), Steve Grant (Owner of SaintsWeb) and Adam Leitch (Chief Sport Writer, Daily Echo) join forces once more, for TSP Episode 54. There's also a Fantasy Premier League update, and a shout-out to one Saints fan who has just wracked up 200 consecutive home and away games following the red and whites! You can find the Podcast Episode here: - Soundcloud: https://bit.ly/2zRDamT - iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys - acast: https://bit.ly/2B7ykBZ TSP is the dedicated weekly Podcast going to the heart of all things Saints! Total Saints Podcast - Episode 53 - Ralph Hasenhuttl Special
TotalSaintsPod replied to TotalSaintsPod's topic in The Saints
. Safe travels. -
There’s literally never a dull day at Southampton FC. A podcasting dream! With Mark Hughes having exited stage left earlier this week, Ralph Hasenhüttl, the ex-Ingolstadt and RB Leipzig Head Coach, has taken over in the St. Mary’s hot seat. Episode 53 sees TSP regulars Ben Stanfield (Host), Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, Daily Echo) and Steve Grant (Owner of SaintsWeb), are joined by Fresh Press UK Football Content Executive, and massive Saints fan, Luke Osman. Providing even more informed opinion on Hasenhüttl, FoxSoccer and Guardian Football Weekly journalist Archie Rhind-Tutt, and AIPS Media Bundesliga specialist Chris Williams, also drop by. Here are the links for anyone who would like to listen: acast: https://bit.ly/2qCeo8a itunes:https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2L29XKq Hope you enjoy - and any feedback is welcome. Thanks Ben

Thanks for the feedback SuperSAINT. Yes, there seemed to be some rumours that change may be about to happen (which I tried to cover off above with "The question is, with pressure continuing to build, will Mark Hughes remain in charge for both the games....!?" ), but you never know in football - especially with Saints! Its never done until its done, especially with them. So we wanted to get this week's out either way (with method behind the Sunday evening release instead of normal Monday) We'll wait and see what happens now, but I'd hope we can all get together to have a chat about 'Hughes out/new man in'... as soon as its confirmed. Thanks Ben

Evening All, Due to various commitments, we managed to record this week's Podcast a bit earlier over the weekend - meaning its available and online now, for anyone who'd like to listen. Alongside the normal regulars, we were delighted to have Tiff Needell join us for a second appearance. Tiff, as always, talks passionately about his love for cars and watching Saints - and positively thrives as we play our one off gameshow, in honour of him being on, 'Player Your Cars Right'! Alongside that we discuss an encouraging and frustrating 2-2 draw with Manchester United, before looking ahead to two tough looking away trips (for different reasons) - Tottenham and Cardiff City. The question is, with pressure continuing to build, will Mark Hughes remain in charge for both the games....!? Anyway, the links to Episode 52 can be found here: acast: https://bit.ly/2qCeo8a iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2Pg7BYL Thanks as always to those that listen. Hopefully it raises a few smiles. Cheers Ben

Thanks for listening. Glad you enjoyed it - and appreciate you letting us know. Despite today’s result, it will indeed be interesting to see what the Club do over the short-term. We don’t look like we’ve given up playing for Hughes, but confidence and game management skills remain low. As you say, it’s reaching a critical stage of the season now. Stick or twist!? B

As mentioned earlier, the links below for TSP Episode 51 (for anyone wishing to listen) The 3 of us reflect on another disappointing result at Fulham, as well as ahead to the upcoming games against Leicester City (Carabao Cup) and Manchester United (Premier League). Thankfully, to bring some much needed enjoyment (hopefully!), this week's Total Recall goes all the way back to April 1996 - and Saints fantastic 3-1 win over Alex Ferguson's Red Devils. Will Dawe and Leon Burton from Saints Archive join us to reminisce about a much better moment in time. Full TSP51 discussion points: > The international break > Fulham defeat > Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg © > Stuart Armstrong off the mark > Mark Hughes - what now? > TSP Poll - Stick or twist? > Total Recall - Man Utd, April ‘96 > Leicester City Cup game preview > Manchester United PL preview Podcast links: acast: https://bit.ly/2r7zMzG iTunes: https://apple.co/2OuQJys SoundCloud: https://bit.ly/2r6R8wp Patreon: www.patreon.com/totalsaintspod Thanks as always to those who do listen. Cheers Ben (and Steve and Adam)

Thanks guys. Glad you enjoyed it (if you can call it that!) Think its easy to bash player performances at the moment, especially when emotions are high. Having stats to back it up will always add more credibility to/for an opinion. Its evident to all that Austin has to offer more than he currently is. The bigger question is whether he can be bothered to do so. But that could go for almost all of them! Anyway, I'll post the Episode 51 Podcast links (for those that would like to listen) further down here, when I'm home from work later tonight. Cheers Ben
