  1. I guess today's result puts this one to bed for a while?
  2. Uraguay who certainly knows his geography ...
  3. I got married just after the final and my new wife bought me a cup final apron! It is the loft somewhere now. I also have my rossette, scarf, programme and ticket and I have a mug which I look at but never use.
  4. Well, that made me laugh anyway!
  5. Dear Mr Sanchez Please go and 'support' another team and leave us alone. Your obsession with Ramerez and Fox is getting to be a bore. Yours sincerely Mr Panda
  6. @Ohio Saint.: //urgent - don't do it, call the #Samaritans :-

    Pablo Piatti

Valencia fans have heard of Micheal Gilkes?!!!!?
  8. All of the things stated above PLUS: People who leave their cars in the road without parking them somewhere safe. They leave them on bends, opposite junctions, very close to junctions, opposite other cars so building a wall across the road, two feet from the kerb, on double yellow lines where parking is not allowed anyway, etc, etc. Why do you get a parking fine if you stay 5 minutes over time in a car park and yet you can park on double yellows for nothing! Insane!!
  9. Does that mean Rickie, number 7, becomes the false 9 and Ossie, although probably c17, becomes the real 9? And what happens to our current real 9, JRod? Does he drop back, go wide or drop out and is he really not a number 9 at all even though he is number 9?
  10. This thread is about Pablo Osvaldo! In a wider context, if Maslow is right, then we will only attract players where it means they will be stepping up the hierachy (eg Wanyama). Given Osvaldo's probable current standing I suspect a move to Southampton from Roma looks to him more like a step down than a step up but everyone is different and will see things differently so it is not so black and white! Osvaldo will make up his own mind so why do we spend pages trying to assess his motivation? We can't so lets stop the bickering and wait and see. No further comment from me or I will be guilty of prolonging the debate I suggest should now stop!
  11. http://www.simplypsychology.org/maslow.html "Every person is capable and has the desire to move up the hierarchy toward a level of self-actualization." Anyone know Pablo Osvaldo well enough to know where he stands on the Maslow hierachy? If not I suggest we stop trying to guess and wait to see what he decides ... this argument has become very tedious!
  12. I am from Bradford but Bradford City don't want me ...
  13. Life is too short to hate 91 other clubs so I just ignore them and hope that we wash them all away as we continue our relentless drive to the top.
  14. I took my new wife to see Saints play Cardiff in Div 2 back in 1977. When Micky Channon scored our fourth she said "OH, the other team look so sad ...". At that moment I knew she would never really understand. In the 36 years we have been together we have hardly ever spoken about football, she just lets me get on with supporting Saints in my own way. What more could I ask?
  15. They can't afford a real manager. The old saying always rings true "You get what you pay for in this life".
  16. Well, Neil, what do your think now? A place in folklore for a team bottom of the whole league? "Onwards and upwards" so the saying goes ... but this is the brave new P*****y, "onwards and downwards" perhaps? In front of a League 2 record crowd too, just how bad can things get ... and without a points deduction to help them on their way. It is just not fair, the FA should do FA about it in my opinion!
  17. That depends on whether you can get the Q on a triple value square!
  18. Seems like Saints pack a Punch this evening ...
  19. I would agree. If our young players are to be good enough for the level we wish to play at then they have to be better than the bought in imports. It is all a matter of perspective. We in England have now adopted a stance that says 'all the foreign imports are stopping our youngsters coming through.' I think this is utter tosh. Our youngsters are either not good enough or they are not receiving the right coaching in their development. If our younger players are good enough they will compete with and oust out foreign imports. If they are not, they won't! They need a target to apsire too. Why play them for the sake of their 'development'. They need to be good enough (like Luke Shaw) and then they will succeed. They do not deserve a place just becuase they are "young" or because they are "English".
  20. Which means that these did not travel: Lee Barnard Steve De Ridder Jonathon Forte Dean Hammond Tadanari Lee Aaron Martin Billy Sharp No surprises there so why is it particularly interesting?
  21. When either Morgan or Corkie get injured/suspended I will be glad there are others around. When I started watching Saints in 1959 we had a first team and a reserve team. Now I may be wrong but 50 years on I think things have changed ... yes, really! Expecting Morgan and Corkie to play every game next season is just a joke. It is such an important area of the team you have to have strength in depth and that is what our new signing will give us. We need a strong 25 man squad as the demands on players now are so great. At the moment we are several players short of a strong 25 man squad. For someone who is supposedly 110% Saints I think you are naive, negative and bordering on pathetic. Some of your posts are drivel and I think you need to grow up! I am not one to usually get personal but if you are trully 110% Saints then show it FFS.
  22. It is quite obvious why they are unhappy, they do not like the new kit they have to wear.
  23. So Cardiff spend £7m+ on a striker and we spend £7m+ on a defender and yet Cardiff are 'hungrier' than us? Sorry, I don't follow that ...
