Perhaps the mascot for the day could sing the verse and the Northam could then join in with the chorus? I like the robes/falsetto idea.

There's no one quite like Jaunmi Even though he is quite new And when he's scoring goals for us You will see what he can do! Juanmi, we love you Juanmi, we do Juanmi, we love you Cos you hate Pompey too

Saints are right to follow 'showcase club' path to progress
Panda replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
NC said "Don't ask can Saints play in the Champions League ask how". I think that is valid, the answer may come back "We can't" but every club in the country (well, in the Prem) should be continually asking the same question. I do not follow and remember every word but I am not sure NC ever promised us the Champions League, just that we would try. I am not sure he should be continually pilloried for daring to ask that question. -
I suspect you are not a bank manager by profession?

"Tubbs still has two year left on his Fratton Park contract though, and so AFC Wimbledon would need a hefty sum to prize the striker from the 2008 FA Cup winners" I just had to laugh at that! That was seven years ago ... but they do love a bit of history.

Not in the best possible taste perhaps but black humour at its best. Brilliant, loved it, best post in weeks. Thanks.

Transfer update on Clyne, Schneiderlin and transfer priorities
Panda replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
You said "Can we just get them both sold quickly and bring in some replacements who want to be here. Don't really want this dragging on all summer." We can't get on and sell them quickly and bring in replacements from other PL clubs until the transfer window opens. Why accept the first offer that comes along when there is potentially more activity and interest after the 1st July? I just don't share your impatience I suppose, act in haste repent at leisure. Each to their own. -

Does the window for transfers between PL clubs not open on the 1st July? Surely nothing can happen until then? -
Having qualified for the Europa League we suddenly need a bigger squad. OK, the academy will provide some additional players for less testing games but we do need some additional quality now. Our youngsters will then have to prove their worth against increased competition. Football is now an international game just as we live in a global economy. Home grown players will have to come to terms with that overseas competition. After all, if Spanish and Portuguese clubs can produce 22ish year olds who can hopefully compete at the highest level why can't we? Answer - our youngster want everything now and without having to work hard for it. That may sound like the grumblings of an old man but it is true; not only in football but in life in general.

Still brings a tear to the eyes to relive that. Almost the happiest day of my life!

I was there! Not the greatest match but our second greatest result. We had no idea what was to follow a few weeks later.

Didn't "their standard team last season" nearly get relegated?

I am twelve of those! I must be a Saints fan ... but then I have known that for sixty years.

"Ineos Group Limited (styled as INEOS) is a privately owned multinational chemicals company headquartered in Rolle, Switzerland" Spot the connection! What is NC doing these days, back with that Swiss bank perhaps?

... and Clyne is immense.
