  1. Good grief! We have now turned on our new owners even before we know we have anyone who is going to our new owner and before we have seen the back of our current owners. There is no end to this, even if major changes do come it seems we are going to give them a good hiding too.
  2. Administration is NOT a tactical decision, it is a financial decision and a desperate one at that. We should be fearful of administration, it is not just about a ten point hit.
  3. Administration is not a tactical decision, it is a financial decision. It is a decision taken as a last resort when there is absolutely no other option. Stop thinking it's about when best to give up 10 points, it is about whether our club has a future or not. In the current financial climate there is no certainty that there will be a club to finish in the top two in League 1 in 2009/10 if we go into administration. If we do we will be even weaker and will struggle in League 1. Don't even think about it let alone wish for it.
  4. You can't just call a game off because you don't think many fans will turn up! We would have to call our games off if that were the criteria!! I think the league might be unimpressed too if we cancelled without an official declaring the pitch unfit or the H&S people saying the stadium was unsafe. Was this just another way of having a go at the club? It is the fashion these days ...
  5. See another thread - Colin Calderwood. I know he's Scots but the papers (especially the NotW) don't know the difference.
  6. Was the this the English manager LC supposedly had lined up and the NoW got wind of it, have put two and two together and made three? Just speculating!
  7. "Leon can I ask you to speak to your business friends find the other 4 million plus you are seeking and then go back to the club and try again. Its not what I want as I desparatley want all three of you away from the boardroom" What if LC finds two others to put the £6m in and then they find they can't really agree on whose in charge and what should be done? Frying pan? Fire? We have been there before haven't we? A power sharing consortium with LC involved = disaster; LC tends to fall out with everyone, its his nature.
  8. Sorry, but I cannot take Leon Crouch seriously. Sure he has the mouth but I have seen little else to make me think we would be any better off with him back in charge than we are without him. I have no idea what the financial situation really is at SMS but I reckon even I could get some positive PR by walking in and offering £2m if the others matched me safe in the comfort of knowing it was a non-starter from the off. I guess, though, it would make me look good (big) in some people's eyes. The long term answer to our problems does not rest with any of the 'big three' and that's the problem. Like everyone else I can see no real cause for hope and when hope is gone all that is left is frustration and despair. Demonstrations will only make things even worse and that is not the answer either, but no, I can't tell what the answer is (unlike many others on this forum who undoubtedly know), I only wish I could.
  9. Funny. I thought you would, someone always does!
  10. His name is Ronnie Davies, He's the leader of our team, The greatest centre forward that world has ever seen, You always can rely on him to score the vital goal, And as for Jimmy Greaves? You can stuff him up your .......
  11. I can tell how you feel, I watch some of this and think 'oh dear, you do your best!'. I think you have done well to keep your patience and to get us this far in some degree of order and towards a sensible outcome. It is only a game after all but sometimes you wonder. I think some people really do think that this is the team we are going to be fielding once we have decided what it is! Anyway, well done Landrew, as far as I am concerned.
  12. Martin Chivers for me (although Phil Boyer is close second and George O'Brien third).
  13. I find it a liitle amusing that there was a good deal of excitiment that Saga was back today but it seems he hardly touched the ball and then people were laying into McG on the match thread and demanding he come off and he scores our winner. Just shows what we know doesn't it!
  14. ... in a defence that has conceded three goals! Who are the useless ****s you refer to? The other Watford defenders?
  15. So who are these 'plants' - are you going to name and shame? How do you identify them? What criteria? When, in your view, does a post come from a PR plant and why should they not be allowed? Even a PR plant has a point of view to put across just as you and I do? Perhaps you think I am one because I said I dreaded administration and the consequences?
  16. Administration scares me too. There is no knowing what the outcome will be, there may not be an outcome. After 50 plus years I cannot imagine a life without Saints, for better or worse. Thinking there will be a 'white knight' waiting in the wings to come in, buy us on the cheap and turn our fortunes around is misconceived, especially in todays financial climate. No club has really benefited from administration, it drains the all the life blood away and recovery in less than ten years is almost unheard of. You have to start again with vitually nothing and that is harder than keeping going in the first place. Please people, don't wish for administration, hope for something else, what ever it might be, but not administration. It is not a tacticle move on when best to take a ten point hit, its about our future existence.
  17. There can be NO optimism in adminstration. Events will be totally unpredictable and there is no certainty of a club being left at the end of it. Please do not wish for administration.
  18. May be they just want to sell more newspapers?
  19. "What the hell has happened to Gareth Bale? He was meant to be Ryan Giggs and Roberto Carlos rolled into one but he's forgotten how to pass and tackle! He looks out of his depth." From a Spurs fan on the BC web site
  20. I agree that Martin Chivers is a forgotten Saint. I remember him and Ron getting six between them at Stamford Bridge. I guess because he moved on to Spurs to be replaced my Mick Channon he was soon a yesterday man as Mick became everyones hero.
  21. There is a danger here, if the vote splites between Mick Channon and Ron Davies then neither might make the team which in thinkable - so if you think these are the best choice strike partnership (which they obvioulsy are!) then let's vote for MICK this time and then ensure RON gets the other spot in the next poll.
  22. So you don't rate him then?
  23. Although not my nomination there has to a mention of Derek Reeves here, he does hold the record for the most goals in a season.
  24. Panda

    Wotton

Recall him from where? Has he gone somewhere? May be I missed it or maybe you are just trying to find an excuse to have another go at the club?
  25. Mike Channon, there is no other (saving Ron as his partner up front)
