Glasgow Saint out FFS! You rank as the second most negative poster on this forum despite plenty of competition from a number of others ... why not just try and be just a little optimistic for a change, it does wonders for your general mood and well being. Looking for the worst all the time takes in toll and turns you into a miserable s0d.

Sorry BTF I don't get the significance of this. I said 'single sex couples' are not found as parents in nature not lone parents nor even loan male parents. Actually what I said is not actually totally true as in bees and ants for example colonies of females bring up the young. Here we have multiple single sex 'parents' although in reality these females are aunts and sisters rather than parents.

It is obviously not 'natural' and would not happen in any other animal species but that does not necessarily make it 'wrong'. We human beings stopped thinking of ourselves as mammals hundreds of years ago. What matters here is obviously the welfare of the child concerned. If there had been no adoption the child would have no parents and I am pretty certain Elton and partner will be better for the child that no parents and probably, especially considering the wealth of the partnership, will be very good for the child. I wish all three of them well, may they live happily together and may all three benefit from the relationship.

I just found it necessary to say, "No, sorry not interested!" over and over again despite that they keep coming back at you. In the end, as I say, they get a bit nasty and eventually give up on you but you need to be persistent and you certainly won't get out until they let you go!

As with all of these offers they are too good to be true! Of course you did not take part in a survey but they think that as there are son may surveys these days you will have just forgotten all of them. When you go their office you will be subjected to a presentation on a time share scheme, probably canal boats, and then the hard sell follows. If you are not interested they can get a little tetchy! As for the holiday? Well you get no choice of where you go and when! Sure you will be asked to choose your preferred country and when you want to go but what will happen is a you will get a call saying that there your holiday is on two weeks time at time-share apartments in Basra. The accommodation is free so just book your own flights. It is self catering, of course, so be prepared to buy in all your own meals and drinks and make your own plans for visiting local places of interest. In short, you will pay more than buying a pre-packed holiday from a reputable tour operator. How do I know? We were offered not only a holiday, but a three day break in Devon, a Christmas Hamper and a case of 12 bottles of wine! We took the hamper and the wine away with us, had a bleak weekend in Bude in mid-winter (where we had to sit through another hard sell on time share for half of the middle day) and were offered the holiday at such short notice that there was no way I could get the time off work and we didn't fancy the location. So, if there is nothing else on offer other than the holiday, don't waste your time!

But isn't that the P****mouth scenario we all deplore? Spend what it takes even if you have not got it. Is that not where we got to administration because of £7m gamble that was lost in the play offs? Isn't that where we are as a country now and having to face major cut backs? You and I have no idea what the finances of the club are now, we have no idea who we have spoken to about new players and we have no idea whether there will be new signings before the window closes next week. You make it sound that all you have to do is walk in to a shop, decide which player you want, pay the price and walk out with him and of course it nothing like as simple as that.

... and 13,345 of the best fans in the world turned out to support their team tonight and their reward - another loss; such a shame. (Don't know how insert smiley winky face)

That sounds a bit sheepish to me! You OK?
-
Priceless! Thanks for posting that.

This sort of things makes us look laughing stock right across the country .............!

To the tune 'My old man's a dustman'?

But in this argument are you not assuming that it will only be Saints that have fixture back-logs, injuries and suspensions? Surely all teams will face the same problems. Every week, when we hear the opposing sides team news it is "ABC FC will be without player A who picked up a knock in Tuesday's game at BCD United. Player B is serving a one match ban and will not be available. We have a squad now of at least 18 very accomplished players. We saw, what was it - eight changes, for Blackpool? It made little difference to the performance and the outcome. I do not see the constant obsession with signing reserve/cover players. If we make a couple of bids for better players and we get them on the right terms then that is absolute bonus. How many cautions have we picked up in recent weeks and how many have suspension getting closer? I have not looked it up but our record in achieving good results, making lots of chances, scoring nearly four a game and conceding so few we have also picked up very few injuries and virtually no bookings. To me, the current squad looks more than capable of bridging any short term loss of one or two players, even if Adam Lallana is one. If a good Championship level player will join us now on realistic terms then fine, if not wait until the summer when there will be good business to be done.

"From Hell, Halifax and Hull good Lord preserve us!"

I see Priskin scored for Ipswich against Arsenal last night so that means the new manager will probably want to keep him now. I am not sure we were really interested anyway, just agent/paper talk.
-
I would happily see the stadium named after him tbh!
-
I fear Manure will put their first team out against us now to try and make a game of it but they can't be confident ...
-
Shhhh ... please be quiet.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for teams to prepare a game plan for us as they have no idea which of our eighteen will be on the pitch at kick-off and even less idea on how we will shape up and play. Not only that, if they do suss us we have the resources and talent to change it almost on demand. We can adapt our starting line-up and game plan to combat anything we anticipate will come at us. These last few games have really demonstrated what a wide range of options we really have and just what talent we have at our disposal at this level.

You miserable s0d ... great result - rejoice! be happy!
-
Ah, I am with you now, thanks! I thought for a minute the Elliot Ward deal was back on about to happen. Too subtle for me.
-
Sorry! You lost me there ...
-
Anyone know if these changes are squad rotation or did we get some knocks on Saturday?
-
It's a 'must win' game to be sure!
