  1. Love it! Just goes to show that although he is your brother you are prepared to speak the truth in the name of Saints! Let's hope you and his wife can bring him in to the real world. Perhaps recent developments will help too?
  2. I have to agree The9 - why sign players for almost the sake of it, no one else does! Better to switch and adapt with players you know than bring men in 'just in case'! I accept sh1t happens and I agree I pay a premium to insure my house in case it does but that is because I am dependant on it. If I had two or more houses I might feel less inclined to do so. Even losing Rickie for a period of time would not necessarily prejudice our position. That was said Adam but he missed three games and no one really noticed. By the close of the 'window' at the end of January, two months away and what, 10 league games to play, we will be looking for Premier quality players not Championship bench sitters. Why buy an 'also ran' as back up now and have them on the books for three years or so, a bit like our old friends AP and TF? Not money wisely spent I would have thought and NC knows how to spend money wisely! In NC and NA I trust - but obviously many of the rest of you don't! Just an opinion of course, no doubt I will be slaughtered for it.
  3. Must be high tide, lots of fish around here at the moment.
  4. club chairman Nicola – you have a woman’s name m’lord – Cortese Read More http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/coventry-city-fc/coventry-city-fc-news/2011/11/09/andy-turner-why-the-press-and-football-clubs-must-work-together-92746-29745295/?#ixzz1dD6qcVa9 Sums Mr Turner up if he can't accept (or perhaps understand) that the Italians do not put an 's' on the end of Nicolas. What a pitiful comment, then what a pitiful article. Hardly an original and well researched piece of journalism, just one-sided, opinionated hearsay in the press box from the Daily Echo reporter. Sad, but then, as he says, he has a sad job!
  5. From that article too "Manager Phil Brown has already signed German goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann, 30, on a one-month deal as cover for the injured Iain Turner." Good grief, is Iain still playing? He must in his late 50's now.
  6. Yes, it's just paranoia
  7. Thanks for the laugh Turkish but I suggest you just send them to Coventry.
  8. Dalek, I do believe you are beginning to come round! Keep it up, enjoy the ride.
  9. I was but hey ho ...
  10. Sorry! The phone rang in the middle of all this and I lost the thread. Anyway, Alpine really get's me down and that is saying something! Why does he expect us to win EVERY game? It just can't happen. Anyway, the ladies like a ****-head so I am happy to be one and always happy to provide the penis when required.
  11. Come through it unbeaten?????? We're WINNING, not drawing. You really irritate with such negative comments.
  12. SDR on, just enough time to get himself a 'yellow' but also just in time to get himself a goal! What is your definition of a perfect Saturday? Me? Saints winning 3-0, Pompey losing 3-0 and the match thread not littered with futile photos of nuns! Happy days.
  13. Apply the NA philosophy. One game at a time, don't get carried away when we win, don't get depressed when we lose. Prepare well, train hard and stand together. Have confidence in our ability and above all, believe it is possible because you need that belief to keep going during the hard, dark days of winter. Come May we might well be champions, may be not, but just enjoy the ride.
  14. So we are only top because the other teams fail? How sad ...
  15. Gosh, what a bunch of wimps!!!!!!
  16. May be because we have had 60% of the possession?
  17. For those who think this interview betrays personality flaws that NC has please bear in mind that he did not sit in front of a reporter and troll out what he said. NC was responding to specific questions that have been subsequently left out (normal practice to make the piece sharper and I have no gripe with that) but he was responding to questions and not just 'bigging himself up'. As he says, he wants what is best for the club and if that is good for NC too then that's fine, he is in charge after all! It was NC that brought the money in that saved us and it was NC that has used that money wisely to turn our fortunes round. If NC Has some 'personality faults' then I guess he must be human after all as so do the rest of us one way or another. NC Is excited by what he has seen NA and the team achieve so far and "wants us to be champions", that does necessarily mean that he insists we are champions or else ...! I would love us to be champions too, not runners-up or play-off contenders and certainly not also rans.
  18. No, I said surely fans would want us to compete as the highest level and achieve the best we can. We, as fans, can't directly do that like the players and management can but we support them and what they are trying to achieve. If your only consideration is the price of a ticket then I fear you should support Bournemouth after all, their Chairman tells their fans who want more to support Saints!
  19. What would be the point of playing games but trying to avoid winning so as to avoid promotion? We play each game to win don't we? That is what football is all about. It is a competitive sport where the object is to win. If you win a lot of games then you can get promotion to play at a higher level where you will play to win every game, sure you will not win as many but you play to win just the same. It is not a question of 'wanting promotion or not', promotion is a by-product of a winning team. Ask the players, NA or NC what they want? Do they want promotion? Of course they do, they want it badly because they want to compete as the highest level available, surely as fans we would want that too?
  20. I think the way they team is written down here is misleading. Reeves will play left back with Dickson left-mid or the other way round. Forte and de Ridder will be up front with Holmes right mid. However, plenty of scope for NA to move them around and keep PNE guessing! I think it would be a mistake to underestimate any Saints line up at the moment, that side still has ten players capable of playing in the 'first' team and who have done so in recent times. Only Reeves is a 'risk' and when better to give him a chance?
  21. Saints are a team looking forwards Ben, not back, and we only need players who fit with our future, not those who are part of our past. Look forwards too and leave the 'has beens' behind. Memories are important but you can't go back. Why should we consider giving Martin Cranie 'another chance' unless he really could help take us to that longed for 'next level'? We owe him nothing.
  22. Frazer Richardson has provided the assists for both goals two and three!
  23. Thank goodness the team don't have the same outlook! Win or lose, the Saints of the past are gone, this is the new era! 2-0 tomorrow and on we go ...
  24. Some of you guys are never happy! We desperately needed a new ground and St Mary's was the best we could afford and to be honest I am proud my club plays in such a modern stadium after the pit that we affectionately called 'The Dell'. Be thankful for what you have.
  25. Ssssh: you will wake Dune up, he's bored.
