  1. Sorry to be pedantic, but Gillett was here already. I agree though, our use of the loan market has been shocking. I know finances are tight, but I look at Norwich bringing in Lita and wonder if his wages would have been substantially higher than Robinson, Pekhart and Pulis combined (they may well have been). I think you've been a little harsh on Perry and Saiejs needs more time before we can make a true judgement. You've also left out Cork, who was brilliant for us in his time here. As a whole, the list doesn't reflect well on anyone at SFC does it?
  2. Caved in and started this at the wkd. Was really struggling with Saints, but a 2-0 win over Reading saw me win 6 in a row and I'm now in the play-offs, coming up to the end of December. Tried for Chopra / Cole on loan, but the clubs aren't having any of it. Lewandoski won't join me either, regardless of wages. I picked up Matej Rapnik from Hearts for around 100k, he's quality. 18 yr old Slovenian left back. Koki Mizuno from Celtic (20k!) is also doing the business. DMG is doing okay up top, but I could do with a decent front man. Do I have to sell Saganowski if they take up the option to buy?
  3. That's not bad at all. I guess the issue for the club comes down to money. If they set the prices at this level, would any increase in attendance balance out the loss of revenue from existing attendances? I'm not sure that even this reduction would get 28,000 in for every home game, if we're battling relegation and/or Lowe is still in charge. I like the idea of tickets being under £20, it's a psychological barrier for some I think.
  4. Fully agree with what you're saying, you start cutting prices of home games and the effective saving on an ST is reduced. However, I think that Luker's point is that despite cutting the cost of the Forest game, it was still cheaper for someone to buy an ST rather than buy tickets for every home game on an individual basis.
  5. Really? Got to say I disagree there. I think Resi 4 is superb and really serves to revitalise the series. After the events of Nemesis, Umbrella was disbanded by the government, so they are not really around anymore. After finishing the game (and all of the Ada side quest stuff) I think the story works really well and opens up the game's world quite a lot. Have you played Code Veronica? That game hints at other organisations being out there that may be invoved in similar research (the 'S' that Wesker works for)
  6. Skacel and/or Euell leaving?
  7. I don't think the player himself would come. When he first joined Spurs he admitted it represented a step down for him from Barca, but that he was confident that Spurs could be up there challenging for Champion's League qualification! Now in addition to him clearly being deluded, this was only 6 months ago. Now way is he going to fancy turning out for a club at the bottom of the CCC. I would agree that spurs may fancy letting him come to us, but I suspect he would laugh them out of town when presented with the prospect. Lupoli seems a bit more likely, hopefully this doesn't mean bye bye to Saga
  8. The man was playing for Barcelona last season (admittedly only sporadically in the first team) and was tipped as the new Ronaldinho a few years ago. I don't think there is a chance in hell of him coming to play for us, not a chance. I see there has been no mention of Anthony Gerrard so far this window, I guess we have been priced out fo a move (or our interest has waned).
  9. I'd be very happy with Dailly in for 6 months. As it stands we only have Saeijs, Perry and Lancashire for CB's (I think Morgan and Wotton are midifielders really). What are we going to do when Perry needs a rest and Olly is seeing out one of his myriad suspensions? Back 3? I doubt we'll bring in another striker. If you take the forward and in the hole as two positions, we've got Saga, DMG, Paterson, BWP, Euell, Lallana and even Gasmi who can all play there. If we lost some of them then maybe, but as it is, I can't see it.
  10. I agree for the wages he is on, he does not represent value for the club. I'm also surprised that he claims to not what's going on. If we are treating him so badly, surely he would have told his agent to have a look at getting him another club, even if it was done surreptitiously I would imagine that Euell is on more wages that Saeijs and Molyneux combined. If we could shift him out and get another two like these lads in, I'd be well happy. Although having seen his wages, I can't see any club matching them. I would imagine that he would want a 2 and a half yr contract at least, if he moves in January. Can't see him getting that in the current economic climate. I think our only hope would be for some club to take him on loan until the end of his contract.
  11. It's not. The enemies you face are not zombies
  12. That is bad news. Friend of mine is a Norwich fan and he was convinced that they were going down under Roeder. They had a guy on loan from Celtic at the back and Lita up front, apart from that, very little. The defender got injured and Lita has gone, so there's not much left. Hopefully they will drag their heels over a replacement and we will face a demoralised team under a caretaker manager at Carrow Road. (Where we will be going for 3 wins in a row, obviously).
  13. £2.5m is a hell of a good price for Beattie. Is that a sign that Sheffield United are basically accepting they are not going to get promoted this season then? I heard Fulham were interested in him, I'd much rather go there then Stoke. Annoyingly if he does well for them, he may just keep them up.
  14. Lancashire is certainly better than Sunday league standard! He has only played about 12 games? In his entire career! Give the lad a chance. I agree in more ideal circumstances he would be out on loan to a lower league club to gain some experience. He's not ready for the championship yet, but that doesn't mean he won't come good given some time.
  15. Interesting thread, nice to have a bit of a debate without it degenerating into ranting and people stating things as a 'FACT'. Great post by Fitzhugh Fella, I would like to second it being put into the golden post section. It's interesting that the echo article doesn't state the appearance bonuses for each player, that would be quite illuminating with regards to Lowe allegedly banning certain players from playing. I think ultimately Lowe's aim is to have the club on a sound financial footing, regardless of what division this will be in. He would be probably accept being in League 2, should we be capable of staying in business. Whether this is the right approach or not is open to debate. Is it better to have a club in the lower leagues, or risk oblivion gambling on staying up?
  16. I'm not massively au fait with financial minutiae, but I think it works like this. I think as someone said above, the parties who are owed money can pressure the administrators to sell off some of the assets first. I don't think you could just stitch up Barclays with 10p in the pound and keep Lallana, Davis and Surman, for example. You would have to sell everything of value off first (the entire squad would be for sale and it's up to the adminitstrators whether an offer received is acceptable). Once all of the major assets have been sold (and you have shown them that you have made every effort to repay the debt through the sale of assets) then you can negotiate on paying back a reduced amount. Effectively you need to convince Barclays et al that this is the most they are going to get, take it or leave it.
  17. I certainly don't think we would come back up. To get promotion you need to be able to keep it relatively tight at the back and score goals. We can do neither. I don't think we would definitely go straight down to League 1 though. We're not certain to be relegated from the championship, so how can you say we would definitely be in the bottom 4 of the division below? It would be a hell of a struggle though.
  18. I'm surprised Thomson hasn't been offered a new deal yet. JP seems to like him and Wotte has even been trying him out as a centre back! Surely we can afford his wages? Cheers Chez
  19. I think Davis, Euell, BWP, John, Perry, Smith, Svensson for definite. Did Skacel sign a 3 year deal when he joined? If so, that's him as well. With Skacel that's eight. Can anyone think of the others?
  20. Don't want to spark a big Lowe Luvvie debate, but he won't be making much money from Saints at the minute would he? Is he on a salary? If he is, I would imagine that it is not too high (compared to Lowe's personal wealth). Or is he merely trying to safeguard his investment in the club by doing his best to keep us out of administration (where I imagine he would lose a lot of the value of his shares)
  21. I seem to remember him playing in a pre-season friendly and JP slating him for not making much of an effort. I think even the echo described his performance as lacklustre. I could be imagining things.
  22. I would keep him and play him. I guess the problem is if he comes back and simply can't be bothered, much like he seemingly was at the start of this season. Thing is, if we let him go and bring in another striker of the quality of Robertson on loan, we will definitely go down. If Molyneux's signing is a prelude to Skacel leaving, you would hope that this could accommodate Saga's wages.
  23. Are there really 1000 people who would come to home games when they otherwise wouldn't, purely to see Saga play? I doubt it.

  25. I don't much like explosive weapons either, it's too easy to damage yourself in the process. I actually think the most useful gun in the game is the Lincoln Repeater, basically a souped-up hunting rifle. It does loads of damage and can be repaired using ordinary hunting rifles. You can find it in the Museum of History in DC. It uses Magnum ammo, which can be a little difficult to find though. You can soften up most targets from a distance. If they still manage to get up close (it takes an awful lot to take down a deathclaw), then a few combat shotgun blasts to the head should finish them off.
