Due to timing issues, a disgusting burger/dog will be our only hope of food tonight. Does anyone have a recommendation for the least worst option around the ground? Thanks.

This was in The Guardian 2 days ago wasn't it?
-
Obviously not. However I think he's got something to answer for. There have been some quite negative comments coming from his direction on the last week. Born from frustration obvioisly, but players do pick up on that and will start to believe they are not good enough and beaten before the first whistle.

The good posters no longer post here and you can see why...

He got 10 years in 2017 but he's out on licence next month. Prepare to welcome him back. -
I've never bought an event from Sky so don't know for sure, but if I watch Sky on Virgin from my PC (or remotely) as part of my VM sub it will open up a dedicated window that doesn't have controls other then for the content. If PPV uses the same then I think the answer is likely to be no. I'm supposing you dont have direct access to Sky on your TV.

Harrison Reed - Official: Signs for Fulham
twopintsnilnil replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Saw him for Fulham in the play off last night and he's still pretty much the player I remember. Ball came to him a lot when Fulham were controlling and while he looked safe he didn't appear to contribute much other than either moving it sideways or back to the keeper. He also got booked early and hardly saw him make a tackle after that. I think lots of folks have got carried away by the little ginger midfield dynamo stereotype, which on the evidence he only scores 2/3. -
You weren't listening around the 6th minute then.
-
Did you ever see him play? Even when with us he was a joy to watch and you felt he could do anything. Always entertained and put in the effort even though he was so knackered. Beautiful full pitch diagonal ball to Dennis for the cross to Wright for the header back for Danny's goal of the season was worth whatever we paid for him.

It's been a very long time since football was "just for other people's entertainment".

Unfortunately your simple fact is neither simple or a fact. Refs are told to treat hand balls differently depending on whether its attack or defence. If an attacker handles the ball either intentionally or not in the build up to a goal then it's an automatic free kick. If a defender handles then account is taken about the intention, just like it always has been, and as it should be. This stops strikers punting it at defenders arms from 2 yards, and defenders having to defend in the box with their arms behind their backs. I think they've got it about right.

Hasenhüttl’s death-or-glory rejig revives Southampton’s menace
twopintsnilnil replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
And why not? How would you write an article about what's happened to us since the 0-9 without mentioning the record-breaking and uniquely humiliating 0-9? It's a decent positive article about the Saints and Ralph. If you think the Guardian has an some kind of agenda to keep rubbing out noses in it I think you're wrong. -
It was unavailable for a short time yesterday but nothing to do with changed URLs. Both have always worked and still do.
-
I suspect it won't quite work like that.

The sales for this definitely went wrong. I'm an ST+ but online wouldn't let me buy. I had to phone up to get one. Tried to charge me the extra fee for phone sales!

Saints v Spurs (FA Cup) Match & Reactions Thread
twopintsnilnil replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Here come the injuries. Could be facing a different kind of test over the next few weeks. -
Bloody foreigners. They come over here pumping their millions into football....
-
Did they? Just ignore it then.

Mostly about the Midlans teams under Chinese ownership and HS2. However we are included. Southampton's deep water port is the reason Gao is here.

We feel sick now, but that was the performance of the season. A lot of good individual games especially Ward-Prowse and Bednarek. Boufal and Djenepo were the right subs and did well, and then missed sitters. There's only so much RH can do about that. Also, Ings was way offside before the pen by recent VAR standards, so it'll be interesting to see what's said about that.
-
Alter ego or just ego? And which would be worse?
-
That doesn't sound great. I'll admit, definitely easier from London.

Arrival and departure absolutely fine. 5 minute queue at Brighton Station for a free train that essentially delivers you to your seat, and a 10 minute queue for a seat on another free air conditioned train back to Brighton afterwards. This does not rank as a hardship in my book. It takes me 15 minutes just to get out of St Mary's let alone get to any meaningful public transport to get out of Southampton. On the subject of decent eateries, you do realise that you are in central Brighton don't you? If you can't find decent food there then I can't imagine you'll find it anywhere. We live in London so obviously there was a train about every 5 minutes back. For me this was about the easiest away trip I've ever done. Even Palace, my local team is more hassle than Brighton. I can't comment on the park and ride arrangements other than to suggest public transport as an alternative which seems perfectly adequate. I appreciate other experiences may vary.

The experience of an away ground, the people, the town, the rest of your week is of course coloured by the result, so I was always going to come away from my first trip to the Amex on a beautiful sunny day feeling charitable. However, what a stadium. Impressive both inside and out, clean as a whistle and with a fantastic sweep and grace to the architecture. It certainly knocks our rusting bowl sideways. Inside the ends are quite small which often gives a false impression on TV I think, with the impressive towering main stand not often appreciated Also, the food stands around the ground are incredible. The burger van on the other side of the station has the best burger I've ever had at football, and coming away the fish and chips looked top quality for £6. Has to be the best "new" ground in the country by a mile doesn't it?

I thought that was fake?

What's done?
