in one of his interviews ralph has spoken about how smallbone's preferred position is actually more of a 8 and not a 10. dont see it myself though, especially in the 4222 that ralph uses. perhaps he could do it in a 3 but not enough power to play in a 2 in the prem from what ive seen
-
why can we not afford it though..the hojberg money pretty much balances what we have spent. as long as we are able to loan out or hopefully get rid of a couple from the junkyard, lemina hoedt carillo and one of the keepers will surely all be off the books come start of the season, then we must have room for at least one in

agree with the calls for boufal to start for redmond, hehas been terrible lately. no threat whatsoever, cutting in and skying it into the crowd. but he has been linking up well with bertie id play boufal keep obafemi, give him one more game to score. adams got like 8 and didnt score. but what is it with our strikers minus ings being so inconsistent. but got the feeling ralph loves redmond too much and we will end up with the same **** first half
-
agree- jwp is a squad player. not really surprising the teams form when jwp has started every prem game only possible way he can be of any use is in a midfield 3 and that goed back to the point of how ****e our squad is currently its the continuous sales of our best players over the years, crap transfer windows and lack of action to rectify those mistakes which is why we are where we are now
-
only looks ominous on paper, we should be looking to take points from every game except city my prediction 7 points starting with a loss to chelsea
-
i also thought he was terrible last night, but to be fair how often did we manage to get him the ball in the box? he didnt have a good game and yes the ref did him no favours but i also think there is a bigger problem that is hes not a target man/lone striker type who does all the donkey work winning flicks and headers- which he is being asked to do a lot of currently. he got all those goals for brum by playing off somebody who was providing him with those flicks and getting him in the back. i know hes a big lad and holds it well at times, but ffs we need to start playing more to his strengths and getting bodies closer to him who are looking to playing him in

want to see ralph push for the win and drop one of jwp or romeu to fit in ings adams bouf and red

but that nutmeg on jaap stam though.. ill remember that game for a long long time

immensely harsh on yoshida who has come a long long way from the days where a mistake would throw away the game every time he played...those backpasses to the keeper...heartattack every time. he has improved tremendously since and i believe he is our longest serving player and deserves credit for that. saying that i dont think he is a nailed on starter and if we do play a 2 i'd rather start with bednarek and vest and still be looking to replace one with a commanding cb. just look how yoshida was immediately better when playing next to vvd, we really need to shift hoedt or stephens in my opinion and get somebody of that mould in
-
arsenal about to sign an 18yr old cb for 27m just to loan him back for the season. madness when they actually need defenders for their starting 11
-
hardly surprising that saints will struggle to get deals over the line till nearer the end of the window. players will only look at the money on the table and the success (****show) of the club in recent years and think they can get a better deal at another club. the club have always struggled to sign big players early on exactly for this reason. dont know why some expect different all of a sudden

a whole season with this pile of sh1te. terrible home kit
-
it would be this game where ozil starts getting back into the team, of course it bloody is. i wouldnt mind bringing jordy clasie back just to get on ozils tits
-
deep down we all know long will start this one. hopeful that obefemi will at home for fulham i thought vestergard has been decent last few games, and despite being wary of him up against auba and lacazette and yoshi being back i think he has earned his place in the team recently. if anybody drop stephens
-
poor in general, but those comparing it to a MH performance have lost the plot. the team actually showed grit and spirit in a game where things didnt go our way. the ref didnt help but palace had us sussed out and we couldnt get it out, shows how much we miss that VVD or a tobey type cb who can distribute it quicker. we all know stephens isnt that, nor has anyone said he was so, understand the frustration there but jeering one of our own is hardly helping.. but credit to ralph to change it when he did, could easily have taken JWP off when armstorng came on and kept it like for like. i know valery was on a yellow and up against the fastest player on the pitch, but still it was an attacking move and clearly paid off..valery would never have been in the box for that cross
-
yes they were without zaha and offered very little. different game this time round with both teams finding form lately
-
yeap thought his game against everton was his best since being in the team. he needs to work on his attacking play but he wont need us lot to be telling him that. i would say though that ramsay seems to have more of a pass on him, anyone know if he is more of a cb or rb?

apologies if already posted but a decent interview with PEH on soccer am. once again shows what a very down to earth and well spoken dane we have, happy he has been given the armband under ralph
-
would love to see tyreke or obafemi start under ralph this season but i reckon he will go long in for redmond who seems will miss. big blow
-

why on earth did we persist with the sh1t floated corner when it clearly wasnt working i remember first game burnely mo came on and we were actually dangerous from corners for once when he hit them with some whip and panash
