could have gone one further and watched the racing at sandown as well 😉

the worst possible news!
-
surely more reason to believe we will win again!?!? their home form is really bad and nothing compared to their away form. a win is definitely not out of the question
-
it will be without doubt the main feature of the build up. then without failure mentioned several times during the game.
-
i think with everything that he and the club have said since that leicester game and how settled he and his family are down here, he is just not going to leave at the very first opportunity. definitely not halfway through a season.
-
sounds like they will have to forfeit if they cant field a team. they dont have a u23s so cant do what villa are doing against liverpool and playing the youngsters "The Football Association’s Professional Game Board will meet early next week to decide whether the game can be rescheduled. But the FA stressed in a letter to clubs last Friday that the matches must go ahead if both teams had 14 fit registered players available – and if a club had to postpone a fixture then the PGB was likely to award the tie to their opponents." from the guardian - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/07/southampton-could-get-fa-cup-bye-after-shrewsbury-covid-outbreak

salisu is injured - it was in ralph's post game press conference. we should be resting kwp bertrand and possibly jwp and ings. tella and nlundulu should play given how well they performed as subs in last. would also love to see jankewitz at some point this season but not even sure he is anywhere near. seems smallbone may be more likely to feature.
-
teams are clearly fatigued by the quick turnaround between games and goals are proving hard to come by. i think our longer rest will help and we will give a much better showing overall than the last two games. still not expecting a win but a draw would be a good result.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Maya's Dad replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
given liverpool's injuries, the last thing they will want to do is bring in an injured player -
that im sorry should most definitely not be our main objective. our form since the start of the season has shown that we can compete at the top half of the table. the oppportuity was there to move up the table and we didnt take it. ralph contributed to that if you ask me
-
why should we be content with a draw against one of the weakest sides in the league. newly promoted, havent scored many goals, while our away form has been excellent not just this seaosn but since restart
-
what was the point of starting long? what is the point of making subs after 90mins??????
-
do not get the general bad feeling of most about this game at all. fulham have been playing better but are still very average at best. they will be without that cavaliero up front who is a main reason for their recent form. their defender is back which is obviously better than anything else they have but people are talking as if he is sergio ramos. we drew against arsenal and lost 1-0 to city and suddenly people are talking as if we are in some massive slump of form. lighten up its christmas. we have won 5 of the last 6 against them ffs and will turn them over 1-0.

it also has a fair bit to do with djenepo and redmond constantly ignoring his runs and subsequently doing nothing with it and the move ends with the typical sideways pass to romeu. in comparison the kwp/armstrong trebuchet backpass for the jwp whip into the box sequence works 1000% better than anything the left serves up. you would think with bertrand and redmond having played together for many more years and being such pals off the pitch could come up with something better. weak
-
and even on the rare occasions he has gotten to the byline he never finds the right pass. hes not the type to whip in crosses with is left, fair enough but the whole point of his position is to create chances for the strikers. dont really care how he goes about it - cutting in or beating his man to create the free man. he seems completely inept at doing either. confidence seems gone which is strange considering the form of the team. walcott and armstrong in the 10 positions is the way forward for now.
-
one of my favourite players currently. so consistent and reliable. slight knock - seems to have lost the attacking edge to his game, but its not from a lack of effort, the amount of times he overlaps the winger just to be ignored completely. he does work better with redmond than djenepo but i feel both under utilise him, especially considering when neither of the two seem capable of beating their player these days i get where some would say he is to blame for the city goal on the weekend, but many other factors also played their part - poor clearing header by bednarek, half the team caught up the field on the press which is what leads to ederson's clearance which was top quality, bertrand does get drawn to the ball but vestergaard just as much to blame for incisive decision making and poor communication.
-
ive been hoping the same thing for a while. the one thing ralph doesnt seem to get right in my view. subs are often made far too late or to not much effect at all
-
unless this is new, theo has a fractured a tiny bone in his hand which he has already played through once
-
quite fancy our chances here with united having the extra game midweek. will also be interesting to see if kwp handles rashford and martial a bit better. last time they took turns running at him and tore him to shreds. our press needs to be absolutely on it for us to get anything from this, hopefully pogba starts as he never handles it
-
great signing diallo, we have missed a player in that area ever since wanyama and morgan left. dont get the calls for sessegnon. i reckon we will only move for a LW if boufal leaves. i still reckon hes more productive than redmond...but attitude or something must be the problem. id rather we get another CM in. we have 3 now + smallbone who hasnt shown he can cut it there yet
-
im fine with whatever the situation is with the owner and possibly future ownership. but given that we would have known for a while and also what we have spent so far there is absolutely no excuse for the club not replacing peh and doing it well. disgrace if so and just pushes ralph closer to the door
-
ox consistently gets picked to play in some of the biggest games, especially champions league. in no way does his career need to get back on track or will he leave on loan.... echo the comments about davies. not the type of midfielder we need to play alongside jwp. we need energy and tackles ffs
-
it is a ruse. play the high line and make the defence look shite in order to have a legitimate excuse to get salisu into the team quick. cant just break up the back 5 after their good end of the season.
-
boufal is moroccan
-
ederson most definitely did not make more mistakes leading to goals than mccarthy. and definitely not the sort of mistakes mccarthy is prone to making, im guessing you missed the arsenal game
