The second we got promoted at Wembley I was of the opinion we would probably come straight back down. The gap between the Premier League and the Championship is getting bigger every year and realistically, we have one of (if not the) weakest squad in the league, I just don't see a new manager being good enough to turn out fortunes around that much. Besides, who could we realistically get with Premier League experience that could make these players better? Not so sure. RM has credit in the bank for me, he transformed the culture last season and helped to repair a club and a squad that was rotten to the core. He's brand new to this league as well and I think he deserves more than six games at this level before we pull the plug on him. Maybe he won't learn, if he doesn't then I'm sure he'll be gone soon. But I like to believe that things can get better and at the moment I would personally rather stick to the process than press the panic button. Last time we did that we ended up with Nathan Jones! I suppose my expectations are lower so I appreciate most will disagree, but I thought the odds would be more likely than not that we may yo-yo between leagues for a few years. Championship is more fun anyway so that wouldn't bother me! 😂

Amazed how many people are saying yes. I'm still Martin In, but I would think his position will be untenable if we're still in the same position say in 4/5 games time.

I know, like I said, that's in my opinion a best case scenario and it's wishful thinking. I've got no doubt in my mind he'll be gone for good.

I think absolute best case scenario would be loaning him out to a Premier League club on the agreement that he sticks with us if we got promoted next season. But that's likely just wishful thinking. There will be plenty of Premier League clubs after his signature so I have no doubt he'll be gone soon!

Interested to see what it's like at St Mary's tomorrow in terms of attendance and atmosphere. Imagine there will be quite a few empty seats and it's going to be difficult to get excited even if we're winning. Wonder if the supporters are going to make their frustration known or if they've just accepted our fate and will just get behind the team and clap them off again. Part of me hopes that tomorrow will just confirm it, bored of the inevitable being dragged out for so long. I'm quite looking forward to the Championship anyway, can't wait for this season to end!

Today was a reality check. The board simply have to sign a competent striker or we are screwed. Yes, it’s going to cost money, but I bet it will still be cheaper than relegation and a clinical goalscorer is our only hope at survival. Today was gutting, but not surprising, we’ve had the same frailties for a very long time and we’ve only won one game at home all season. That’s unacceptable and nobody could complain if we go down! There’s still time and there’s still hope, but the board must act now before that disappears.

That was abysmal. We don’t have time for patience, it’s obvious that Nathan Jones is out of his depth, all we’ve done since he’s come in is give the ball to Lyanco and let him lump it as hard as he can in the hope that something might happen. This appointment was nothing more than Rasmus Ankersen trying to inflate his ego by taking a punt on someone that would make him look like a footballing genius if it worked. Well it’s not going to work. If anyone in that board had any bottle they would get rid of Jones tonight, admit they made a mistake and get someone in who has experience at this level and may be able to help us survive. (I’m not sure we would survive anyway, but give us a fighting chance at least!) So sad to see what is becoming of this club.

I’ve written this one off. Just going to enjoy being back at St Mary’s with my friend and hope that it isn’t 9… 😬

Disappointing result today. I had hope during the first half, which was very promising. However, Saints reverted to type in the second half, and although it’s only the first game of the season, I’m worried. Really got to question Ralph now, he hasn’t learned from previous mistakes and his game management is shocking. It seems we don’t have a Plan B and are completely unable to adapt and react to the opposition’s tactical changes. We’ve got some very hard games coming up and it’s hard to see where the points will come from. Think we all knew this would be a long old season, but I do wonder how long the manager will last if we can’t pick up points over the next month or so. On a more positive note, the new full backs looked good and was great to see Armstrong start with a goal, great finish too. Nice easy game next week then, can’t wait! 😬😭

He's as good as gone now, but I'm not too fussed about this one. He's replaceable and in his time here only really stood out for a few months. If he's got zero interest in signing a new deal then let him leave, we'll be okay without him. (In the sense that he's not the type of player that's going to lead to us going down if he leaves!)

Always seems to be a divide on this one, so I'm curious, who would you have as your main main between the sticks this season?
