The Steaua fans were impressive. That match also wins prizes for "cheapest beer" & the "wettest" game.

Bring back "shoot!" How I miss those league ladders.

£8000 a week and weekends off. Nice work if you can get it!
-
Tahir replaces Cork. Come on Imran!

I know it would split opinions on this site but I think it might be good for the club. Lawrie is still quite high profile in football circles and has always handled the media very well. I think Leon could be a good link to the local business community. MLT would be most peoples favourite for such arole but would he really want to hinder his media career for what will basicaly b a "meet & greet" role.
-
Paving the way for Lawrie to become Club President & Leon Vice President?
-
Furyk, Kim & Harrington each way for me.
-
I was thinking we had to change colours when we played teams in stripes. Mind you I had just got home from the pub!
-
What will we wear at Brighton and Colchester. Have we got a third kit? Maybe well get away with the home kit.

I agree. I understand and support the new owners plans to spend proportionally to the league we are in but if there is one position it is worth splashing out on it is the Manager. The most important person at the club. I don't think it will just be the salary the WGS will be concerned with I think he will want to be certain that we will do things his way. I.E. training & preparation wise. He will want to fly to the furthest matches and stay in certain hotel etc He will also want his own support staff. Prepare as if we are a premier league club.

Paul Simpson best option on the list for me.
-
I agree, he ticks all the boxes.
-
I wouldn't be dissapointed to see Boothroyd here but my first choice would be Steve Coppell (I'm assuming he is still available)
-
So then did anyone actually predict that Markus Leibherr (Spelling?) Would buy the club? Was anyone truly ITK. I have read lots of posts about a Swiss Consortium but as I understand it we have not been purchased by a consortium. So come on who is king of the ITK'ers. For the record I had it on very good info that we were being taken over by David Gold, I'm glad I kept that to myself.

Thats why there were no photos from Saturday. Make sure you take your camera to Totton. Could be our last ever game.
-
I'm in. Well done for organising the league. I havent checked out the other teams yet, I bet we have all got KP & Ponting!

What about "Fry F*cks Up Swiss Bid"
-
If what you say is true then what in your opinion were they hoping to achieve (or have achieved) My best guess is that initialy the money was there but when the money walked Lynam was left with the "dud". I think he gambled on MLT name/Keegan rumours being enough to entice the real money back in. If it is true that LC stumped up £500K then I am stunned. Also does this mean that LC is not part of the rumoured Salz "if all else fails" rescue package? or is that just a rumour.

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour, but heaven knows I'm miserable now.
-
So what does our failure to pay our staff mean in a business/legal sense? Will Fry have to declare the company insolvent or will the club be paced into administration in its own right (or both) How much time does the club have?

Update from Tony Lynam 1:45pm Monday 22/06/09

They will need paying again soon as well. The clock is ticking. -
Surely the structure of the "deal" is agreed between all the parties & not set in place by the administrator? So if another offer was to be made which accepted the FL's findings (basically an offer for SLH & accepting the points deduction) this could proceed? Although the price offered will go down. I suspect that the agreed price has been based on the assumption that the FL's argument won't stand up in court. Perhaps Begbies & Pinnacle have underestimated determination of the FL to uphold this ruling inn any way possible. We could be back to the drawing board here.
-
I've a feeling that there won't be a press conference today. More likely a press release from the administrator & consortium announcing an extension until Tuesday.

At home on first game, last game & boxing day. No international weekends off. Can't be bad.
