I don't think it is that "short sighted" to not plan the entire stadium design over one match which we haven't played for over a decade. We definitely overpaid on the goalkeeper. Absolutely catastrophic decision - our biggest outlay and we've let in 57 already anyway and minimum three in pretty much every single game. Some spectacular saves when we lose 3-0 anyway? Great. More investment further up the pitch to actually score more and in the middle of the park to stop more attacks. It's not about McCarthy but we should have targeted a less expensive keeper.

I think that when Edwards was signed the talk at the time was that he wouldn't be in contention for the first team this season. I think the most surprising thing as he didn't go out on loan in August. So it's pretty clear he is coming back, and no reason to think the same about Charles next season too. It's strange, when we loan players in there's a lot of moaning about developing other teams players and how they will go back to their parent club never to return and no benefit to us whats the point. But if we loan a player out there's panic that they will never come back to us and thats it they're gone forever we've lost another good one whats the point.
