I don't think it is that "short sighted" to not plan the entire stadium design over one match which we haven't played for over a decade. We'd plan for Premier League allocations, and if we happen to be in the league below then apart from Pompey there isn't that much of an issue for any other Championship opponents. We definitely overpaid on the goalkeeper. Absolutely catastrophic decision - our biggest outlay and we've let in 57 already anyway and minimum three in pretty much every single game. Some spectacular saves when we lose 3-0 anyway? Great. More investment further up the pitch to actually score more and in the middle of the park to stop more attacks. It's not about McCarthy but we should have targeted a less expensive keeper.
