We're playing well. If anything I would just like to see a few more passes between our full backs and centre backs and the keeper in our own box.

Say what you like about the boy but now unbeaten in four. In the last three matches he has played the top three in the division, unbeaten, two draws and a win. I think the Charlton fans will start believing.

Even if we keep playing like now we'll still make the play offs. Sunderland finished sixth with 69 points last season, were two points off that now. If you assume worst case (we win one in four for the rest of the season) we are on for 76 points which is play offs in pretty much any season. But the idea we go from nearly two points a game to less than a point a game (Sheffield Wednesday form) is pretty fanciful. So not really an if, to be honest.

It's a shame the club didn't go with the original plan of a man in a giant Bargate costume walking around the perimeter of the pitch.

We are finishing in the play offs no problem. We have enough bloody nonsense about catching Leicester without now going in the opposite, equally ridiculous direction. We will absolutely be in the play offs. (At least, I haven't completely ruled out second place because we still get to play Ipswich and Leeds).

Your last line negates all the other three lines. If Russell drops/rotates out our best players so they "avoid injuries" and "remain fresh" what happens then? If the second string perform brilliantly, why would you drop them? If the second string are terrible, how do you go into the play offs on a decent run of form?

We appointed someone whose only managerial achievements were finishing 13th in L1 with MK and then two mid table nothing seasons with Swansea, including huge streaks of terrible form, and absolutely loads of goals conceded. It was always a risk (it's worked out OK for Leicester with their inexperienced appointment) but it hasn't for us. Yet. He might still come good in the play offs but he's never managed a single play off tie.
