Yes, that's right. There was a lot of water under the bridge between Derby's record breaking Prem season and their financial collapse, the two aren't related at all. In between they had loads of boringly stable seasons under managers like Nigel Clough and then multiple nearly-there play off appearances under McClaren and Lampard. It was chasing the dream around here that got them in real trouble, buy this was more than a decade after the Prem season.

Clickbait referencing Football Insider which surely everyone knows by now just guesswork.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
CB Fry replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
If Kier Starmer had done even half the things that Okeshott has done (fabricated the Cameron pigs head thing for money, betrayed Matt Hancock as a source by leaking his entire Covid communications to the press for money, betraying another source to land Vicky Pryce in jail for money, she's closely connected to Ashcroft a tax dodging bullshitter because hes got money, and so on and so on, all for money). If Starmer had done even one of those things then she and Guido and all the rest would frothing about like it was crime of the century. I dont think we need any pearl clutching moralising and smearing from that utter piece of shit. The people she knows have far more secrets and skeletons than Starmer has and she knows it. Personally I think this whole thing is absolutely bullshit and just there to social media ramped up and to seed itself onward. Okeshott saying it on a broadcast channel gives it "legitimacy" that can then be amplified and amplified. Dictionary definition of smear. -
In 2023 all three promoted teams stayed up. So an aspiration to achieve that (with an ownership that came in with explicit aims to establish us in this division) feels like something SFC should be going for as it is achievable and has been achieved, 2023 was last year. And I am sure that as the season goes on, they will act to try and deliver that.
-
Sorry I read it as 1988. You are saying that clubs stay up because other clubs fuck up, which is not the blistering hot take you think it is.
-
So it happened for the first time in 35 years and now it is going to happen every season forever now. Clear.
-
But the season all three stayed up they would have been up against an entire league of teams with multiple years of Premier League funds. So no, I don't get your point.
-
This is just contradiction.
-
What happened the season before that?
-
He's on track for 50 goals this season. We've been caught napping with our pants down YET AGAIN

Premier Inn Wembley BOOKED

Indeed. Apart from Dibling I see no flurry candidates.
-
Anyone would think the Che Adams hasn't previously had little flurries of scoring a few goals in a handful of games. Basically did it for us every bloody season.
-
Tyler Dibling Tyler Dibling Scores again For SFC Tyler Dibling Tyler Dibling And we know he Hates Pompey (We Are Sailing, if it isn't obvious)
-
Honestly don't know what people think they are seeing. By September 2022 the apparently "hopeless" team had won twice already.
-
Because little triangles between the centre backs and the goalkeeper is not dominance at all.
-
The point is you described a home draw vs Ipswich as "par". ie in normal circumstances we would not win that match, we'd draw it. What matches will you pick out as "par" for us to actually win?
-
Pure profit, but let's hope we stay up and he stays next season first.
-
There was no deal, Chelsea did not sell him to us, there is no sell on. He signed professionally for us.
-
Because they aren’t wrong. That’s a writing style perfectly appropriate for news reporting. This is moaning and pointless nitpicking on a par with idiots that say “it’s only the Union Jack when it’s on a boat”.
-
They never scored very many.
-
Exactly- three full seasons at Championship level and more than 60 conceded in all of them. Nothing to do with the manager, no sir.
-
If a draw at home against a fellow relegation favourite is "on par" then you must believe we are guaranteed relegated.
-
Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham all did it in the same season in the ancient history days of 2023. What an unbelievable miracle they achieved.
-
In fairness he did score six in less than half a season for a terrible SUFC team. So not that outlandish that he could be expected to score some for us.
