  1. So you're saying Ruben Selles, Nathan Jones and Russell Martin were big money huge investment appointments that showed towering ambition? Is that what you're saying?
  2. I would like to formally apologise for making the baseless, without foundation claim that we "piss about with it" to no great effect. The Martinettes demanded evidence and I am sorry I was unable to submit an acceptable dossier in time. Anyway on a completely unrelated point, our possession today was 71%.
  3. Should have been sacked two international breaks ago.
  4. When do we start "breaking through the lines at speed", again?
  5. We just need to focus on winning the cup.
  6. Yet more evidence of us doing that thing that we definitely don't ever do.
  7. I don't really think anyone can complain about picking the same 11 that won last week. Sensible, especially as we have a manager than can be prone to over thinking. Happy with that. Dibling to come on and win it.
  8. That was the fundamental text for the Graham Taylor England era. Get it in the fucking mixer.
  9. Today will go down in history as "that game when Tyler Dibling...." He is going to win it and be featured all over Match of the Day etc etc.
  10. Over and over again we piss around with it and put ourselves under pressure, and that this is pumping up our possession figures and it is of zero benefit because we score fuck all and we let in shitloads. That is all happening, pretty much every Saints fan breathing oxygen knows it but yeah you've never noticed it.
  11. If you ignore the examples it doesn't happen, got it. Of course my pitiful examples won't begin to match the abundance of examples of us "playing through the lines at speed" or whatever it is supposed to be that has seen us return no less than seven entire goals this season, worse than any other team. There is lot of "fantasy" about, that's for sure.
  12. Arsenal as above. Newcastle away, the first game of the season. There are others and plenty of chances given away. I read here the system allows us to "break through the lines at speed" but we don't do that. And also the system gives us "defensive solidity" when we had an appalling goals against record last season and this. Let's see if you demand evidence from contributors claiming we are "breaking through the lines" and being "defensively solid" like you jump on me.....
  13. But we can, because our possession stats are phenomenal but our goals against is appalling. Often because of losing possession through dicking about with it. It may be counterintuitive but it is, sadly, true.
  14. Of course that doesn't cone up when you ask why voters select a candidate- try inflation, the economy, immigration and lots of other things. Funnily enough voters maje a more autonomous considered choice than you give them credit for. But it's the 8 year anniversary of you posting this routine over and over again so you be you.
  15. Russell Martin's teams concede 60+ goals a season every season, Swansea, Saints whoever. Nothing he has ever done has created "defensive solidity". Nothing.
  16. I don't want him to fail. I like him a lot and he was brilliant last season. I'm laughing at you making out that over the 50 Premier League appearances prior to this season you say he "never had a chance" when he's had the kind of chance that ten thousand prospective footballers would kill for. It's obvious he hasn't got the composure to be Premier League forward as proven by multiple managers now. Delighted with his goal on Saturday.
  17. 5 goals in 60 Premier League appearances. It's not "people thinking" it, he's categorically not Premier League quality. Do the one about how he's never "had a chance" again.
  18. Yes Russell doesn't "endorse" losing the ball or "endorse" conceding goals or "endorse" scoring fuck all goals or "endorse" losing matches. He doesn't endorse those things so really he is utterly blameless.
  19. Are you trying to say that the team being sent out by Russell Martin is not constantly giving the ball away in our own half?
  20. His argument is we have set the team up to constantly piss around with it. You are pretending this is allowing us to "break through the lines quickly" - 7 goals shows this isn't happening. He is saying that is results in us giving the ball away over and over again and in multiple cases conceding chances snd conceding goals. The matches we have all watched is showing this is happening. So unless you are saying that Russell Martin is not instructing the players at all, they're all deciding to play this way by themselves, then what is happening on the pitch is a result of the managers direction.
  21. No manager endorses "giving the ball away" so hardly an accolade.
  22. The fact that this has returned an entire seven goals this season is a real testament to this electrifying strategy. Oooh we "move through the lines" ever so quickly, don't we though.
  23. Fantastic stuff Huge well done to the team on the pitch especially Adam Armstrong.
  24. Absolutely home and dry now.
  25. We are never ever ever ever going to score.
