Which one is going to offer Russell Martin a significantly better profile and better salary than he is getting from us?
-
To do what or go where? In your reply please do not mention Vincent Kompany.
-
Who's looking forward to next season on here, where a two nil win at home to Coventry in September will be taken as proof that Russell Martin's methods are totally correct and here he is proving all the doubters wrong.

Leeds and Blackburn's title defence seasons in the 1990s were both pretty disastrous.

too be honest the original comment about Vardy being subbed off and Leicester losing to Chelsea was a bit weird / noddy in the first place. why does anyone on here give a fuck about Jamie Vardy and whether he gets subbed or not?

Without clicking on anything this will be based on someone saying something on a podcast

You're correct - if we win he will 100% keep his job all through December, and at that point the January window opens so he's staying for the whole season. Even if we lose they are not sacking him. Personally I am resigned to it now. Just to say that this is the test for the "chopping and changing doesn't work" and "he just needs time" boys who, if it was down go them, no manager would ever get sacked. Because every manager becomes Lawrie Mac or Alex Ferguson just by staying in post for a long time. Well this season I think they are getting that wish so we can all reap the glorious benefits. Chopping and changing never ever works but leaving managers in post always works. I look forward to the glory.

If you keep tugging at the dinnerlady's coat you might just get your wish.

WE all think you're a twat

That would be the brave thing to do. But yeah. Big man little man. Phillips and Quinn. Up to the big man, the little guy feeding off the scraps. Get the ball in the action areas as often as possible as quickly as possible. Fuck the midfield and get it up there. Cause chaos. Of course Martin won't do it as a chicken shit coward afraid to break out of his own approach. Sure he wants to win the match but coming an incredibly close second will be securing some flattering words from his opposing manager that he can use in his video CV. All Martin is doing is feathering his own nest for his next job down the line.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
CB Fry replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Got taken to the fucking cleaners by Victoria Derbyshire from what I saw on the news. Absolutely full of shit and he knows it. -
I forgot it is Sunday. If we pull off the most spectacular upset victory of the season then you can thank the fact that I will be in a cinema for the entirety of it with the family watching Wicked.
-
When we sack him I think the job he would want next, and could get, and he'd do well in, is Glasgow Rangers. An absolute gift to him.
-
He's going to come back and tell you he has played for Manchester City.

I posted it within a minute of THB stepping on the pitch for the first time, it was a teeny bit tongue in cheek π ππ€ͺπππ€£πΉπ©π₯³ππΊπ»π₯πΊ It's Sunday sweetheart you can take a day off from the Sport Republic Public Relations department

Still no. The defining characteristic of premium/artisan cheese is not that it is "perishable", it is a discretionary / optional purchase. It's not a commodity essential to live off. If Brexit paperwork forces the closure of businesses that import premium cheese those sales are not just magically picked up by British product instead. In your head you might want to tell yourself that fairytale bit that's not what happens. These days there is paperwork and unbelievable red tape that has tied up food businesses in doing what was previously a piece of piss to ship out or bring in product. It is soul destroying and definitely business destroying. It was this way last week, last year and it will be next week and next year. It's here to stay thanks to what the UK population enthusiastically voted for. As a nation we have burdened businesses with admin and paperwork to an eye-watering scale and it has for sure driven some businesses to the wall. I work for a gigantic food business. We have absorbed loads of it but it is still utterly infuriating and pointless. Smaller businesses it is no surprise if they have shut down or moved headquarters. Whether you find it "tedious" or not doesn't matter. It is happening. Yesterday, today, tomorrow. Every day pointless paperwork. Still you got the Brexit you wanted so congratulations.

THAT WILL BE FIFTY MILLION POUNDS PLEASE BRIGHTON OR FOREST OR WHOEVER Goalscoring England international you know
-
The next big day on this forum will be the meltdown on here when Lee Carsley is presented to the media as the new Wolves / Leicester / Palace manager. Still, Sport Republic know best.
-
We've got a back five with three full England internationals. Russell Martin should be doing better.
-
Yes you are missing something. It's pretty pointless to try and explain it but it's not a zero sum game, there's no linear relationship between that goes down so that goes up instead. Trade never works like that and it never will. The UK voted for Brexit, the British people voted to get Brexit done in 2019. If you voted for both of those things, it's on you. More broadly this shit show is on all of us because ots what "we" wanted. You were pretty fucking gleeful about it when you chose to be.
-
That's a bloody big assumption. Trade is not a zero-sum game in the way you're making out. Nope. Britain voted for separation in 2016, and then the barriers that have gone up that Britain voted for in 2019. Pretty sure you were mad keen on all of it.

The issue was always, always, lack of resource allocated to border control / immigration processing. Anyone going beyond the bullshit reporting and hysteria knew that. The Conservatives tried to make it a wedge issue for easy votes from racists, plus it gave them the simplest argument on why all the public services had gone to shit on their watch - blame the immigrants. Rwanda was a stunt policy designed to be stopped by legal challenge so that they never had to do that either. Look at the evil establishment lawyers/judges stopping us. Honest we tried we did - blame the immigrants and also blame the lefty lawyers. It was a totem project that was still avoidance of the real issue - processing the fucking claims. Cooper comes in and oh look we start processing claims which results in deportations. It's called trying to run an actual government rather than a glorified press office / opinion column.

More bad luck for the bad luckiest team what there has ever been in the history of the Premier League.
-
It's very easy to see those Klopp comments as "if this lot get promoted under this guy, they're fucked".
-
Utter drivel. We were in the Premier League for a decade before last season. We're not some plucky underdog team who have never played at that level.
