People can talk about how wonderfully successful he'll be "in the right circumstances" while failing to admit that, for Russell Martin this is it. This is his favourable circumstances. He lucked out with a promotion ready squad and parachute resources last year and now he's getting found out. His next job will be back to the middle of the Championship where he will duly concede 60 goals yet again.
-
All this would be fine if Russell Martin wasn't fucking shit at Swansea as well.
-
But a straw poll of one club to prove your point is Ok but me using exactly the same club to make a different point isn't? Why is my "scenario" weird but your scenario is completely fine? Sheaf's point is 100% supported by the Luton example, but you don't like that so are ignoring it and going with the Sheffield United example because something something reasons definitely not weird but it suits your point. The fact is: If it is not relevent to the following season then we can sack Martin now with zero fear. It's not relevant for next season, it's fine. Agree, or no?
-
They're a good example of the benefits of sacking a failing Premier League manager in December, aren't they? Luton are a good example of going down and expecting the same manager to deliver the same magic the following season. Good example of that not being true as well? We are talking about just two clubs, so my analysis is as valid as what you have cherry picked, correct?
-
But you have already said that the period before Wilder is "irrelevant" when they replaced their manager in December '23. So if we replace our manager in Dec '24 then that "before" period for us becomes equally "irrelevant", right? We heal, we move on, we go forward. Why can't you let this manager go?
-
Making out you predicted a load of stuff 18 months ago and now have been proven right is gaslighting sweetheart x x
-
What has come true so far?
-
It takes me seconds to dismiss your horseshit live, in the moment. I don't need to go back over anything. It's just you positioning yourself as some 18 month all seeing visionary. But you can't back it up can you?
-
Well, I read this this morning So you "called all of this in Summer 23" but you can't say exactly what it is you called? Super clear.
-
What has come true so far?
-
Exactly. Does this genius think the "two years down" thing starts again next season (so we simply must stay down 25/6 and 26/7 for the greater good) or not? Absolutely copper-bottomed bullshit that the best thing for this club in any year is to start with less money and fewer prospects than we could otherwise get. Absolute nonsense.
-
What are these things that you have been going on about for "18 months" have you been proven correct about? Tell us. The salaries/wages thing was more than one post from you and you know it.
-
You spent quite a lot of time saying we needed at least four £30m players on 4 year 100k a week contracts. Until it was pointed out that clubs like Brighton and Brentford don't have anything like that and then you eventually backed down. You're on an open top bus parade thinking you've been proved right about staying down two seasons being better but us being shit this year is not proof of that concept. An SFC in the Championship this season is a completely different beast to this SFC today - for example Flynn or THB never sign for us, Bednarek, KWP leave etc etc. The very best time to get promoted is the season you're in. No ifs, no buts. Season 2 in the Championship doesn't get you closer to spending "£200m" in a promotion season, it gets you further away, and more baked in excuses as to why we are shit coming back up (we've been away two years what do people expect etc etc) So in your little mind you are some soothsayer with genius foresight but sorry I have absolutely no idea what you think you have been proven correct about. All I see you is you being wrong about stuff.
-
What happened under Russell Martin prior to that isn't relevant. It's the complete lack of self awareness that I find quite sweet really.
-
I've made my argument already, which is when we go down with Martin, and if he is still our manager you will immediately flip to caveats and expectation management and downplaying everything that no actually we are not favourites to go up etc etc etc So what's the point in keeping Russell Martin because he ain't going to win the Championship with us and you won't ever say that he will. You don't like it but the fact is Sheffield United sacked their guy. Luton didn't and they're fucked.
-
😂😂😂 Of course changing the manager doesn't fit your narrative. Of course not.
-
Of course this yo yo stuff is all horseshit on this forum. The exact same people now making out that this pitiful season is all for the greater good because we'll storm the Championship next season will conveniently forget all of that come August 1st. Immediately those exact people will flip Immediately into making out how hard the Championship is, really we're underdogs when you think about it and Russell Martin will have done a brilliant job if we manage scrape sixth if you consider the scar tissue and remember we finished bottom you people need to be realistic etc etc etc. Just like we had all last season when anyone saying "hang on, we should be challenging for the title with our resources" was shouted down by the Martinettes. Don't believe the bullshitters.
-
Sheffield United sacked Heckingbottom early December last year. Luton have not sacked their manager because as all the geniuses know, Chopping and Changing never works.
-
When it happens yet again, I am very much looking forward to the Martinettes lecturing us that "it is simply an INDIVIDUAL MISTAKE it's nothing to do with the manager" yet again. Russell Martin is just the unluckiest manager of all time with the most mistake ridden team that ever there was. He's so helpless I feel sorry for him. His world class gold standard tactics and selections destroyed match after match because of things that definitely aren't his fault. The guy can't catch a break 😪
-
Basically mission accomplished for the worst owners in football and the likely the worst manager in top flight history. 10 defeats in 12. Relegation in the bag before the advert calendars are opened. Still, chopping and changing never works so well done the club on all that wonderful continuity and stability. It's absolutely paying dividends and no mistake.
-
Thanks PR department. Bottom of the league because of, like, bad luck like all the other clubs and that. Take a day off.
-
Now do the Premier League record of the team under this fucking shit manager.
-
I've only seen the goals. Is it me or is the first one yet another example of pissing around with it leading to conceded goals. Because the Martinette disciples on here swear blind this kind of goal never happens under Martin's genius management..... I look forward to hearing from the disciples the reasons why what I've just watched didn’t happen after all.

Well if you like big screen musicals it was fantastic. A lot of the story is about a con-artist who tricks lots of people that he has magical ways of doing things, but he is exposed as a fraud. Also a lot of the cast are a bunch of short-arses.

Anyone would think Sport Republic didn't buy a decade long established Premier League football club. Turns out they bought League one level underdogs simply delighted to be so fortunate to ply our trade for one dreamlike season in the top flight.
