I think a 2 week winter break is only going to encourage a super league break away as the top teams will find congestion just too much or the prem will be 18 teams and it will be us supporters that will suffer in any event
-
Saints spoil WBA's party, Pelligrino still has a job as his cotton has just been upgraded to string, Crooks says Lemina is to good for Saints and should be playing for Arsenal ("what happened to Liverpool") I suppose we have that to look forward to after next w/end and JWP can lift the w/cup for England but maybe not this year so we have a lot to talk & cheer about this week, God I feel summer coming
-
My guess is that Sturridge will come on loan the last day of the window
-
Oh! well we will just have to suffer then
-
OK guys we need to set up a protest with the Echo and Sky lets talk to Matt Le Tissier to help us out this is the worst Manager ever in my 60 odd years of supporting Saints I have emailed the Echo and awaiting a reply to see if they can get this across to Les Reed

Whisper says Mario Balotelli is on his way from Nice

If Winston Churchill was a Saints fan like me his Quotes would have been. We shall defend our team whatever the cost may be, we shall support them on our home turf, we shall support them on the away turf, we shall support on the terrace's, in the fields and in the streets, we shall support them in the hills; we shall never surrender we are Southampton

Are we doing it right well Newcastle seem to think so as Mike Ashley: My “dream” is for Newcastle to emulate Southampton Read more at http://www.squawka.com/news/mike-ashley-my-dream-is-for-newcastle-to-emulate-southampton/980842#AhEijMq5CVIMjGr0.99

My story as the VVD saga rolls on Reminisces of 1984 when Thatcher crushed Scargill the president of the miners’ union this one year epic battle went down in UK history fast forward and 2017 Reed takes on Rob Janson Head of the Wasserman group and as in 1984 scargill got his workers to strike to get what he wanted well today not quite on that epic scale as yet but can Reed set a new presidence and crush player power that VVD is displaying after all Reed has five years up his sleeve to battle with Virgil has his short career, where is VVD’s support only in Liverpool and his agents workers, where does Reed have his support well this could be worldwide if he stands firm Les could go down in history as the man who crushed player power

Saints need to make him stay till next summer but don't play him in the first team otherwise if we give in other players will do exactly the same just need to make a stand at present he is only costing saints what we paid for him

So all news reporters state the true facts I take it the SUN is your bible lol

The reason the club has made no statement is because it is illegal for a football club to approach a player directly who is under contract with another football club Currently under both the transfer rules established by FIFA and the Football Association followed by the clubs playing in England if another club wants to procure the services of a player that is registered with another club they must speak directly with that club and not to the player or his agent. The individual player and the agent who represents him will only be brought in for discussions with the potential purchasing club once the two clubs have agreed on a fee. so rest assured Virgil and the rest of the squad will be playing at Southampton FC next season the club made a statement when they released 4 players

Thats a shame he's retiring we might need his experience come next January after the fans destroy our next manager

Puel v Silva since Silva took over at Hull on 5/1/17 all competitions Puels record played 24 won 9 drew 5 lost 10 goals for 29 goals against 30 Silva played 23 won 8 drew 3 lost 11 goals for 25 goals against 41 so there you go what are your thoughts shall we hire Silva or not

My thoughts on rotation well if our expectations are going to be a top 6 side we will need a quality squad in depth so how do we keep all these players happy sat on the bench week in and week out without rotation we really can't expect internationals to wait their turn so no rotation says no to top 6/7 thoughts please
-
Word has it that Wenger has signed another 2 year contract and is having a summer clear out with an expected minimum 6 new players coming so no room for youngsters in the next 2 years
-
I think you will find the away fans are already pitch side at St Mary's so no change needed
-
Just referred to the stat's book it says Archibald scored first then Brooke made it 2-0 Spurs Baker and then George scored to make it 2 - 2 H/T Crooks and then Brooke scored to make it 4 - 2 Moran hit back with 2 goals to make it 4 - 4 at F/T and the game was played on Friday 26th December 1980
-
I Think there was a report in the Financial Times 26th Feb about this so i would say its quite credible
-
I was told it was a metatarsal injury and 3 months out just saying so mid April return
-
First of all great result well played all the lads,Ok we are looking like a team that can compete again so a few tweaks needed in like VVD back and maybe another defensive midfielder in place and hey-ho top 6 team, at the beginning of the season we had a solid defence but lacked attack so just maybe we already have that defensive midfielder within the ranks just maybe once the strikers are moving forward Romeu and another just drop back a we bit to snuff out these counter attacks and our goalkeeper coach needs to up his coaching with Forster and get him to command his box a lot more after all some great 6ft 7" chap rushing at you will make them lose a tad of where the ball is going
-
Like last year we were a bit slow replacing Pelle with Gabbiadini but to be fair they gave Austin & Rodders time to see if they could regain their potential and again Fonte they believe Stephens will be better but they have now got a short term back up for Virgil, mane was replaced with Redmond and Romeo took over from Wanyama Cedric replaced Clyne with McQueen an able stand in And **** faced Koeman who wanted Saints to lose Sunday was replaced with a far nicer man in Puel
-
Well all i can say was 10 out of 10 for yesterday it was a fantastic cup final where the best team lost, lots of passion from every saints player, manager & supporter my man of the match was Gabbiadini 11 out of 10 and worst was linesman 0 out of 10 all the rest 10 out of ten great display by both sides
