  1. Is he injured or is he really fourth choice now? Did he have such a rubbish preseason that he got an extension PLUS is dropped forevermore?Whatever happened to Radhi Jaidi? And no I realise he didn't get an ice pick that made his ears burn with deference to The Stranglers. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.393960,-0.412921

    Guly

Guly is a good player. He has superior technical skills to probably everyone in the tea Bar Adam. He's number ten for a reason you know. In Italy that shirt is only given to a fantasist player ie a guy who can make something from nothing. Guly can do that. When he's not- and not tracking back it can get annoying - but if you love the beautiful game you DEMAND Guly starts. I'm glad he does. Theleague is full of runners without his ability. If he continues to improve the defensive side of his game then for me he must start with Adam the other wide player - both coming in at will. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.394052,-0.412638
  3. That's rubbish. You don't speak for me. He is a decent CCC player who could do a job in the epl. I don't know where you get your football nous from but he scored for Blackpool and millwall at higher than div 1 level so "gash" he ain't. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=50.715236,-1.879420
  4. And fer legod - fair enough... --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.393728,-0.412790
  5. Ps yes I am personally on at 16/1 with betfair to win the CCC. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.393962,-0.413218
  6. Bridgey do you know what back and lay mean? If you back saints at 16.1 £10 then you hope for £170 back right if they win? If they start the season well after ten games the price will not be 16.1 will it? It will be lower won't it.? Take a wild guess at what that lower odds might be, say 5.1 . In which case if you'd backed saints for £10 to win £170 back you could then SELL ( or oppose saints if you prefer- you are betting against them winning the CCC) for £80. If you did that and saints won the CCC you would collect £80. If they did not win the CCC you would lose zero. It's a free bet put another way. If you opposed saints by say £120 at the lay odds of 5.1 though you can win both ways - you would make approx £50 if they won the CCC and c.£8 if they did not.saints I'm not including commission just to make it a bit easier to explain though I've probably failed! So if you think we will start well and you are right you can bet now but not have to wait til the end to collect, indeed you could collect even if they don't play but the price moves in your favour because everyone had the same idea as you -about saints winning the CCC but not quite as quick as you. Imagine we bought Rooney Terry fabregas tevez- tonight- the price would move from 16.1 downwards wouldnt it...you take advantage of that movement to cash in without saints kicking a ball.. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.393785,-0.412916
  7. Best thing to do IMO is buy saints to win the CCC at 16-1 (betfair) then sell it when we are still top three in ten games time. We will be 5-1 at that point= Ching Ching. Waiting 46 matches to collect @14/1 divide by four e/w is boring. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.393913,-0.412973
  8. Ebanks is a good player but he's no replacement for Lambo if that is a characteristic we are looking for in a striker - hes only 5ft 8" so hes actually an alternative to connolly/barnard i would say. The obvious wolves striker that might be back up for Lambo is Sam Vokes of course...ex cherries 6ft 2" oft loaned out....Fletcher is the superstar option up front but no chance of getting him i'd say.
  9. **** you munster
  10. He fits the bill i think. Pace and trickery. A season long loan with us will do nicely. Wont play for milan much if at all this year after being loaned out all of last year, needs to go out on loan, perfect for saints. Better than Papa Waigo...
  11. I thought he did well. Well played Aaron.Keeps his place on that display. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.393778,-0.412868

  14. Start versus hull... Come on if that's the best Blackpool have got...I respect both but....surely..... --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.393974,-0.413054
  15. Thanks for your top info Drive, Shame but if he's like you say then i trust your judgement on it. The wispy moustache thing is of course the last nail in the coffin. You're absolutely right. He should've known better. At the very least did he have like a hundred tattoos? I guess it means im going to have to unlike him on FB. Just goes to show that a video on youtube can big up anyone but if they are not a "saints type" then they ain't joining... Do you know what Raidhi's comment meant? I can guess it might mean he is a bit embaressed at the behaviour of a fellow tunisian professional player but i might be wrong. An idea?
  16. "You can be sure that SeaSpunk will be targeted by Leeds tommorow" That's a disgusting way to denigrate one of our players. The opening thread was an excellently put comment on the spirit of development and progression for our players and our club and your response is to start name calling our probable starting centre back before even the first match of the season? Wow. Dan Seabourne is no Rio Ferdinand or John Terry right now but "SeaSpunk"???
  17. Go to QPR player to see him being interviewed last week. Log in using your saintsplayer details. He dont look like hes desperate to leave but he seemed very cagey to me with some of his answers. Talked about his family and friends joshing him about playing in EPl...looks a tough nut fer sure. Very muscular strong bloke. Not the most articulate but his body language suggested to me he knows hes not fully in Warnocks plans. Watched his goal the other night- he attacked ball from the penalty spot towards the near post and slotted in a bit of a rebound quite promptly- it looked like whoever tried to defend against him kind of got shrugged off, or possibly was a bit scared of him. Hes definately a big unit!
  18. Gorkss is easily good enough for Championship football. Thats obvious and beyond dispute. I query whether we need him though because he is a younger Raidhi type player - big and muscular and slow but puts his head in where it hurts. Jemmal on the other hand is "probably" a more complete footballer plus younger. They are two completely different types of player. If Raidhi had been released i could understand a swoop for Gorks- but with our Tunisian man mountain still in the squad it feels less of an imperative. I could be wrong though and maybe we need two big strong CB's in the squad just like we want to have two of all the other positions. My gut feel is that the resigning of Raidhi meant that we are sorted for "that" type of player, but that Nigel is keen to get a more ballplaying CB at number 5, perhaps prompted by Jose telling him that neither Martin not Seaborne are fully up to the job in the Championship this year. Alternately Gorkss and Raidhi could take turns partnering Jose with Seabourne/Martin only get on when theres an injury or suspension to the main three. In which case one of those at least will go out on loan very quickly i suspect. PS. I would also venture to suggest that Gorkss would only come to Saints for bid money- i watched his interview last week on QPR player in which he talks about his friends and family joshing him about all the top forwards he will be playing against in the EPL....he looks like a proud man so to be pushed out as a part-ex and stay in the CCC must hurt....a bitter blow only softenable by a big chunk of cash and salary. As far as i know thats not our usual strong suit..so i dont think we will see him at Saints. Which would be a shame. Gorks and Fonte=job done in middle defence against leeds et al fer sure........
  19. Has anyone else noticed that he appears a little bit, dare i say it, on the pot belly side? I doubt hes fit enough to get anywhere near our first team tbh though his youtube highlights show hes a footballer alright- takes free kicks, penalties scores headers etc....its just he's got what for all the world looks like a bit of a pot belly? If the Gorks character from qpr is fit, which presumably he is from doing preseason and playing friendlies for them suggests, and he obviously speaks and understands english plus knows the Championship very well, then he is much more likely to walk straight in at cb than Jammal, younger and more potential notwithstanding...
  20. Entering my local is like joining the set of Twin Peaks too.
  21. Noting that Nigel made several references to the pitch not being slick enough for his style of football it made me consider how teams might use that against us and if an element of our team was better suited to one season or another. I can see some teams deliberately creating poorer pitches to counter our pass from the back style in the most practical physical way possible! Luckily we can swop players around as , for me, we have some natural winter and summer players who are most comfortable in one seaon and ok in the rest. For example Jaidi is clearly a winter player. Boggy pitches with the ball sticking, the ball can't move quickly and often ends up in the air a lot more=suits our massive CB totally. Lambo and Barnard fits that too. In midfield I'd say Hammond and chaplow are the most comfortable winter players whilst at fullback probably Richardson. I'm not saying those guys won't start on slick passing pitches as much as the Connolly Morgans oxo type players but sure that it's a factor in our nigels mind.

    Morgan

The midfielders will depend upon the opposition, the competition ( ie league, fa cup or league cup) and if its home or away, if its a good pitch or not and the time of year and if there are injuries or international call ups. It may also depend upon result(s) required at the end of year. Last but not least it will be affected by FORM, GOALSCORING AND SUSPENSIONS. For me, Adam is the outstanding talent followed by Cork and Morgan, but every talented team needs its gregario or domestiques - or even super domestiques - for me Hammond and Chaplow come into that category and they are just as important as Cork or Morgan in that regard...though we have no clear replacement for Adam unless De Ridder is allowed that role....
  23. Nope,Jemal was not even in the squad versus Westerlo yesterday....and not in the official Young Boys squad 2011-2012 picture either.....and he has not played or been in squad in either of their first two league games either.....he is certainly leaving Young Boys...just hope hes coming to Saints.
  24. .........without risking a penny i should have added should we win the league..
  25. Mr Guided Missile....methinks a more likely reason we should be piling into 16/1 odds on saints is so that you can lay them at a sufficiently tasty price to book that 5 star hotel and weekend promoted champions or not hehehe.....If youve spotted them £1000 at 16/1 then lay them at 10/1 for £1000 you've got more than enough to drink dom perignon out of your gucci loafers for a weekend...
