Get ready everyone for Klopp to be very awkward in the interview, even rude, that's usually what you get from him after a defeat. Be surprised if he gives any credit to Athletico Madrid apart from sarcastically of course. Years ago, they were a classy club, now nearly everything about them is despicable.

Jamie Redknapp is so annoying. In whiney school kid voice "Graeme, Graeme, don't you think Graeme" like he's begging Souness to agree to his usual boring view. Souness often has a look on his face like he wants to whack him one, especially after Redknapp has just slapped him on the thigh!! Carragher is okay when talking any team apart from Liverpool. But utterly annoying with his "Mo Salah, you little dancer" or whatever it is he squeals. I really like Gary Neville as a pundit and how he just says it as it is, even about Man Utd. Spot on the other week about that p*ick Pogba's agent. He offers very insightful knowledge and I enjoy listening to him. I like Don Goodman co commentating on the Championship and lower league games along with Andy Hinchcliffe too and Lee Hendrie is quite a good pundit surprisingly. The only woman for me who is good and deserves to be there on ability. Laura Woods, she is a babe but also a really good presenter too - she actually has talent and is knowledgable about the game but also very polite and respectful when interviewing people. I like the Soccer Saturday A team too with Jeff, Merse is not the brightest but I like the fact he doesn't take himself seriously and self deprecates a lot but he talks sense too. Charlie Nicholas is very good too "Chaaannnce" - long pause then "gooaalllll". Thommo is quite good too at times and obviously Matt Le Tiss is just a legend anyway! Chris Kamara is superb too, very funny and always amusing to listen to! I actually find Roy Keane very amusing too, his deadpan expression does make me laugh when he is moaning about something and the rest are laughing at him and you can see he is desperately trying not to smile. Again, honest and whether we like it or not, he is usually just saying the truth!

I've seen this happen for years at Man United and Liverpool and the club are partly to blame but you know who the real culprits are? The bell end Saints fans who buy tickets most of the time with no intention of going to the games and instead get them for their friends who support these clubs. Sorry if I offend anyone but to be honest I don't really care when I say the idiot Saints fans who also buy tickets for their glory hunting kids to wear their Liverpool or Man U scarves in the away end really winds me up too. Years ago at Old Trafford, there were some Saints fans who had got their Man U supporting friends tickets in our end and they decided it was funny and great to jump up and celebrate when United scored. I had a right go at them all as I was in the row behind and even noted down their row and seat numbers. When I got home, I wrote to the club saying how wrong it was and that surely they know who has purchased these seats and can at the very least send out a warning to them that if this happens again, they will be banned from purchasing tickets. Of course, I just got the standard reply from our ticket office saying there was not much they could do. In this day and age, surely there is an easy way of identifying these people and sorting out the problem. Only a few weeks ago, when Rudiger made allegations of racism against Spurs fans, Tottenham said they could watch every single seat in their stadium and identify anyone misbehaving so with modern day technology, I cannot understand how the ticketing thing keeps happening or is allowed to happen. The ticket office must know who is buying these tickets but choose just to turn a blind eye. For years, Saints have "cosied up" to opposition fans and seem more interested in them having a great day out than their own fans and they are clearly still doing it. To be honest, I have said it for years, with the exception of the fans, we are a small time club with a small time mentality, the whole way the club is run from the very top to the ticket office and the way that is run. However, the ultimate responsibility lies with the fans to purchase tickets for Saints fans and consider how much it annoys the rest of us with the small allocation recently being a prime example.

What's wrong with you all, lol. Can't believe nobody has mentioned Ashley Young! Whining and petulant as well as constantly trying to get opposition players in trouble. I don't really dislike many players but Kyle Walker is definitely one, just looks very arrogant and I don't think he is that good anyway!! Vertongen is another, every time Saints play Spurs, he seems to want to have a fight with one of our players! Great player but for some reason, the whole love in with Messi gets on my nerves too but maybe that's because I think Ronaldo has achieved more by performing at the very top level in multiple countries as well as for Portugal. Oh yeah, Scott Brown too, great shout - would not last five minutes in a Premiership team if you ask me!!
-
I don't care if we get picked off on the break by piling forward - what annoys me most is the spineless tossers can't even be positive on the ball and give the strikers some service. We just go sideways and backwards the whole time. The big problem is that Deulofeu has not started playing yet, once we do, we are in big trouble. 0-3 at the end.

I think Mourinho can be a bit of an idiot at times but I think some of the time, his supposed arrogance is just him playing with our media who let's face it can be pretty stupid at times. I would like to see him actually smile and basically just chill out a bit, let his players express themselves and I think he will be a success at Spurs. Especially if he tries to be diplomatic and non controversial when talking about his players as unfortunately, the power is with the players these days. I really like Poch too and he will be fine as he is a quality manager as most honest Saints fans will acknowledge after the job he did with us. People may think Jose is a dinosaur and maybe they think he is not as good a manager as Guardiola but for me, his CV is far more impressive. At least I have not seen Jose shouting in an opposition player's face like Guardiola did with Redmond - that is absolute arrogance of the highest order yet nobody seems to mention that yet they are quite happy to label Jose as arrogant!! Yes Guardiola plays good football but he has always had it easy - he has dominated in Spain at the top club in Spain with probably the biggest budget alongside Real Madrid. Then he went to Bayern Munich and had success at the biggest and best club in Germany with the biggest budget before moving to Man City where he has again had success at the best club side in England with the biggest budget - spot the common theme here? Jose has won a Champions League at Porto and Inter Milan, none of whom were even the biggest and best clubs in their own league let alone in Europe. Until I see Guardiola manage and win trophies at a club where he doesn't have money to throw around in ridiculous amounts, his CV will never be as impressive as Mourinho's in my opinion. As someone who absolutely loves Harry Kane, I think he is a class player and a class bloke - maybe he wants to stay at Spurs and become a club legend - who knows he may win something too but people should respect him if he wants to stay loyal and we remember how much we love Le Tiss for exactly the same thing. As we can all testify, there have been plenty of Saints players in the past who have left for supposedly bigger and better things and have ruined their careers. As for us, I actually think Ralph is a really good manager but as I have said before, he has inherited a very average (I'm being kind) group of players and sadly, we have a board who it would appear are not willing to back him and get some better players in. I think Ralph looks a bit lost and has the weight of the world on his shoulders at the moment but he would do very well at a club like Spurs to be honest - unfortunately, he has a 9-0 home defeat on his CV so he may need a while to get his reputation back. Ha ha, a win at Arsenal on Saturday would be a good start - not at all convinced that will happen though I do see this game as one to go all out attack as their weakness is clearly at the back.

Anyone else wish we had scored 75 minutes later!!!

Players and staff donate ONE DAYS Wages to Saints Foundation
Saint WGC replied to Noodles34's topic in The Saints
LOL, the players are probably worried about how much they will have to cough up next Monday after they lose 26-0 to Man City at the weekend - think City will go easy on us in the cup and only get 6. My Coventry City supporting mate who knows what it's like to support a team having a tough time and who kindly pointed out that Leicester scored more than New Zealand was asking how much a score goes up to on Super 6. He keyed in 30-0 and it did work! I know it isn't funny really but as Saints fans, I think the only thing we can really do is laugh about it and take the p*** out of ourselves. I also think it helps with opposition fans trying to wind us up too as if we see the funny side, they are less inclined to goad us as they can see we are taking it the right way. I think we all realise we are not a great side (understatement of the year) but the reality is we still have 28 games to get ourselves out of this mess. The Saints players need to get that game and the two this week out of their system immediately - all I want them to do is be braver on the ball and go forwards. Is that too much to ask? Stop all these misplaced passes backwards and sideways that cause all sorts of problems and be positive!!! The November fixtures are the ones we need to focus on and there are some more than winnable games in there if the players and fans go into the games with the right attitude. If we go all out attack and get picked off on the break, I can handle that as I'd much sooner see us lose games trying to win them than see what happened last Friday which was just a meek surrender. -
I will back Ralph all day long and think he is a good manager but he has inherited a s*** bunch of players. I feel genuinely sorry for the bloke, yes he has made mistakes but the players are the ones who cross the white line and represent our club on the pitch. I hope he doesn't walk and as someone who went to both 7-1 defeats on merseyside years ago, I remember those squads of players lifting themselves after the Liverpool defeat and also the 4-3 loss at Tranmere both times and winning the next game and keeping clean sheets both times. Sadly, aside of who we play next, I struggle to see this group of players having the mentality, strength, resilience and belief to do something similar. The only positive tonight was the fans who kept singing, although it would have been funnier if we'd sung "how s*** must you be, you couldn't score ten"!! From a personal point of view I won £180 on several small bets on Leicester to score more than 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 goals. The last four in running at 3-0 and I missed out on £50 on over 9 because that idiot referee only added two minutes injury time lol. The minor frustrating and annoying things were that VAR actually stepped in to make a correct deciosion on a red card where several incidents earlier in the season were ignored despite being similar or even worse. So hopefully we won't be scapegoats and similar offences will be treated in the same way going forward. The other thing is Jeff Shreeves being so brave to try and annoy Ralph when he has clearly had a tough night. What annoys me is that he would never have the guts to be like that with someone like Klopp or Guardiola or Ferguson in the past. He was clearly trying to get a reaction out of Ralph and I think he deserves credit for keeping his cool as he did look a bit annoyed. It's clearly going to be a long season but the point is who comes in realistically who will be able to get much more out of these players. I think the only thing that can save us is a really strong transfer window in January with three or four top players brought in but do I think Ralph or anyone else will be backed.....quite frankly no I don't.

The good news is this will be "Match Abandoned, waterlogged pitch, you heard it here first. Or waterlogged floodlights failure. The bad news is this rabble would lose the replayed game anyway. As my missus politely reminded me "we've got city away twice next week"!!

How about to the tune of Morph (some of you must be old enough to remember him) "hey wake up Gunn, are you coming out to play" as he has yet again being caught hesitating or in the middle of nowhere as the striker runs the ball into an empty net. Valery, Valery (to the tune of celery that Chelsea sing) - I'll leave you lot to come up with the rest as I'm sure you're far more creative. Jannik Vestergaard, Vestergaard, Jannck Vestergaard" to the tune of Give it up by K C and the Sunshine band - we could even drag the "N" out and sing Jan Bednarek to this one too as his name isn't the easiest one to make a song up To the old Mickey Evans song, Na Na Na Na (Bananarama) change the name to Ryan Bertrand or Stuart Armstrong What we used to sing to Westwood "Ding Dong Ding Dong, where's your bell gone" (as polite as it gets when it comes to that piece of filth). "Ding Dong Ding Dong, We've got Shane Long" (I'll get my coat) Ings can only get better I like the earlier suggestion of "D-A-N-S-O" - remember years ago the Wednesday fans singing D-I Canio which sounded really good. "He scores when he wants, he scores when he wants, Che Adams, he scores when he wants!" Years ago at the Dell (I still miss you), we used to sing a song pre kick off for nearly every player and they would acknowledge the fans then we'd move onto the next one. It used to be great in the Archers singing nearly all game, 14000 Saints fans created so much more noise than 29000 do nowadays. I do happen to think the atmosphere nowadays is terrible in a lot of Premiership grounds including ours to be fair!

Ralph is the last person who should be leaving the club. He is a quality coach as proved by the job he did at Leipzig but unfortunately we have an extremely average squad of players. Yes he has made mistakes but the players need to take a long hard look at themselves. There is so much wrong at the club currently, I said to my missus this morning that sadly the club lost it's soul when we lost Markus. I just find it very frustrating that we continue to spend £15-20m on players who turn out to be flops yet most other clubs seem to bring in at least one or two players who at least make a positive difference. I still think Che Adams deserves time as I think he will score goals - the problem is he currently looks like his confidence is shot to pieces. However, as someone who likes a flair player, I think Boufal needs to be given a run of games in the side. Yes, he is going toes the ball trying to beat a fourth or fifth player and he will frustrate but he is the one player in our team who can create something out of nothing. We are becoming dull to watch again with all this sideways and backwards possession. I'd much sooner see someone lose the ball trying a 40 yard pass inside the full back than all this dithering around deep in our own half where we lose the ball under pressure and it seems to lead more often than not to a goal or at least a shot on our goal. It's all being well playing the 'Guardiola' way but you need players who are brave and comfortable on the ball and capable of playing out from the back. There were quite a few on here having a go at Burnley for in their words hoofing it but they play to their strengths and at least create problems for their opponents. There is nothing wrong with getting the ball wide and putting quality balls into the box. I'm sure some of us would settle for Ashley Barnes playing up front for us at the moment as he's a handful but also scores goals. Quite why we feel the need to have a pop at a team with far less resources than us for playing to their strengths is beyond me. It smacks of arrogance and I thought we were a bit better than that. I think right now with the players we have, we should play Yann Valery on the right side of midfield with Cedric at right back. Cedric can then concentrate on defending and Valery will also provide cover defensively but also has the licence to get forward. The next starting 11 should in my opinion and based obviously on fitness be as follows. McCarthy Cedric. Bednarek. Yoshida. Bertrand Valery. Hojberg. Romeu. Boufal Redmond. Ings Djenepro on the bench until he is fully fit. The fans need to get behind the players but they also have to play some positive attacking football to get the fans onside. Wolves away looks a very tough game but it's time we started asking questions of the opposition rather than getting ourselves in trouble with sideways and backwards passing just to keep the possession stats high.

As someone who voted to leave, I think there are two ways I would like this whole farce to be sorted out so here goes. Before anyone starts on me, I am not at all clued up on Politics so I just voted with my gut instinct as nobody actually came out with a good reason to leave or stay back in 2016. Firstly, and this is purely hypothetical, if we could guarantee the same result, I would like a second referendum where the public could vote again just to see how the remain brigade would then react when the same result happened. There are two schools of thought as to what would happen in a second vote, either lots of people who voted to leave would have been scared off and change their minds and vote to remain but I also wonder whether a lot of people who voted to remain would now say "no this is a democratic country, the people have voted and the result should stand" so would vote to leave as a result. I honestly believe this is not like when we were kids playing cricket with our mates over the field in the summer holidays where you wanted to bat first, lost the toss so said "oh I don't like the result of that, best of three"! Then best of five and so on! My main feeling is that this is something that is never going to unite the country whatever happens so here is my alternative solution (and I repeat that I voted to leave and nothing has changed my mind in the last three years). I think the other option should be that the referendum is scrapped, we carry on as before but every single one of the 650 MP's as well as that idiot Bercow are sacked as they have clearly proved to everyone that they are incompetent and incapable of doing the job they were voted in to do by their constituents. If anyone says "oh but that would be people losing their jobs, I would retort that if any of us did an appalling job and failed to deliver results expected of us, we would lose our jobs so let's bring the MPs into the real world and make them realise they cannot behave like this. We would then need to find 650 new MP's which I admit would be the main problem but at least this might unite the country a little more and appease all of us who voted to leave. If Brexit does not happen, then there should at least be repercussions for the MP's who have all failed this country over the last three years and maybe beyond in some cases. I also believe that when there is an Election and these MP's start waffling on in manifestos and on TV about what they are going to bring in or do just to get our vote, if they fail to deliver on what they promise to do, they should be prosecuted as in my view, it is a form of deception (or bribery if you want another word). This threat might at least stop idle promises being made where they know full well they are unrealistic and probably have no intention of actually following through with them. See I told you I know nothing about politics as I am only too aware that this will never happen lol.

Councils or whoever it is who have the bright idea of putting pedestrian crossings 50 yards after a roundabout. The natural thing coming out of a roundabout is to speed up then you have to hit the brakes and risk someone slamming in the back of you!

The bloke I cannot stand is Kyle Walker who is so average it is unreal. I have never rated him and as far as I'm concerned, no International team will ever win anything while he is in the team. Everyone thinks because he plays for Man City and runs as fast as Dwayne Chambers on drugs that he's a great player but his positional sense is appalling and he is just so arrogant that he continues to lose the ball by being so casual and thinking he is Franz Beckenbauer. Man City should get him out and replace him with Van Bissaka who is already a better defender than Walker will ever be and they would be even better than they are now. As for Holland, if they can find a quality striker, they are a good bet for the Euros as their two centre halves and midfield are quality.
-
Seeing as I have absolutely no faith in our owner putting up anything other than a derisory amount of money, here is a simple solution. Put a bid in for £7m for Lyle Taylor at Charlton, looks a quality all round player who scores plenty of goals and create quite a few too. Having seen an interview with him, he speaks really well and seems to have a great attitude on the pitch, he puts in a proper shift but as I say, he scores goals. For those saying he was in League 1 last season, I would say we got Rickie Lambert from league one and that didn't turn out too badly even when we got to the Premier League. Sometimes there are gems in the lower leagues and it just needs someone to take a gamble on them. I still say he would be an upgrade on Long and Austin so is better than what we have already - therefore, we would be improving the squad. Yes, the fact he is 29 is possibly the one negative that I can think of but a bid of less than £10m would be a gamble well worth it if you ask me - better than wasting £20m on the likes of Carillo and Boufal, not to mention Hoedt at the back too. Once again, before anyone shouts me down and says he's not good enough for us, I'm being realistic in what we could afford as personally and call me cynical if you like, I don't think this chairman has any interest in actually helping our manager with decent funds to spend. After all, if we were really going to spend decent money, we would stop offering silly amounts like the bid for Che Adams that we all know are going to be turned down and just go in with a firm offer of £12m minimum.
-
Hate to say it but trying to think about it logically, I think Fulham will win this. Tow teams who cannot defend but Fulham have more where it really matters, i.e up front. Mitrovic, Babel and Schurrle are far more of a threat than Long, Austin and Redmond. If Ings was fit and playing, I would be a bit more positive but realistically, I think we need Redmond to score a couple as I cannot see where else our goals will come from. Fulham will almost certainly score so we need at least two to win the game. Honestly, I think it is time to stop tippy tappy football and start putting in loads of crosses as Fulham struggle with balls into the box, especially set pieces. This is a game to be a bit more direct and actually test Fulham's back four as our build up is often way too slow and pretty easy for teams to organise themselves and make it hard for us to break them down. Our best chance of a goal from another source is probably a "worldy" from PEH or from one of our centre halves at a corner. Tricky one whether to play Redmond wide or down the middle but we have to get him on the ball as often as possible as he is our only threat to actually run at a player and go past them. I think Mitrovic will be too strong and too good for us so 3-1 to Fulham (though seeing as they haven't had a clean sheet, wouldn't be unlike Saints to gift them one too). COME ON SAINTS, PROVE ME WRONG!!

One positive re Charlie Austin is the club will save a bit of money on sun lotion. Well, he's clearly used to the heat judging by the amount of times he was on Twitter last season picturing himself on a sun bed abroad while he was out with his four month hamstring injury! The money saved will probably be this summer's transfer kitty for Ralph!
-
While PEH was reckless with that tackle, the fact that Fernandinho got straight up to have a go shows a couple of things. One, he was not injured and two, the bloke is a hypocrite as of course he has never done that to anyone has he? Don't dish it out if you can't take it back. Think we all know that if he had made that tackle, it would not have been a red. Similar to the Ward Prowse penalty incident which was far more of a penalty than any of the ones Salah got on Boxing Day and also yesterday (plus the one Lovren conned the ref into giving too). The premier league is fixed and hugely in favour of the big clubs with the officials scared of the likes of Guardiola and Klopp. The Sterling one was a penalty too but if that had been 1-1, that would have been given too. The most positive thing is that our goal difference did not take a hammering, something City may look back and regret at the end of the season when they strolled around the last twenty minutes.
-
Here we go, folks, you'll thank me later....or maybe not. To the tune of Hong Kong Phooey (google it if you're too young).... Who is this super hero? Hoedt? No! Austin the overweight centre forward? No Ralph the mild mannered manager? Could be Hasenhuttl, Austrian super guy, Hasenhuttl, makes his players cry, Oh, hes got style, a groovy smile, won’t let his players stop, When the going gets rough, hes super tough With the Hasenhuttl chop. Hong kong phooey, Austrian super guy, Hong kong phooey, quicker than the human eye. Imagine the amusement of the person in the crowd starting that off!! Time to get my coat??

I find it odd how women's football and women's cricket especially for example are being rammed down our throats that we should all enjoy it and watch it as it is so popular. Therefore, why can't all these new female presenters, pundits and commentators, for example Alex Scott, work on the women's football or cricket as surely they would be in the best position to promote the women's game if they are really that knowledgeable. Then leave all the male pundits, presenters and commentators do the male sports. The whole PC thing drives me mad, bit like when people keep saying there are not enough black managers in the football leagues. I'm all for black managers being in football but like in any job, it should be because they are the best person for the job, not for other reasons. There are a handful of really good female presenters, for example, Sue Barker is absolutely brilliant and knowledgeable presenting the tennis but even poor Sue was in danger of being turfed off some of the hours she normally does so Clare Balding could come on and start patronising us all and treating us like five year olds. Anyone who saw her presenting "Today at Wimbledon" a couple of years ago when they had a few fans there will know what I mean, it was dreadful and thankfully they got rid of that format the following year. Similarly, as a few have said, Kelly Cates is pretty good presenter and on the radio, I do like Georgie Bingham, after all anyone who says they admire him for his talent but can't stand him as a person is fine by me when they are referring to Lewis Hamilton. On the plus side, Alex Hammond is very good on At the Races and Sky and as a bonus, she is yummy too!

Saints to give £250,000 to Gift to Richard Scudamore
Saint WGC replied to Hatch's topic in The Saints
Yeah, you're right but I guess what I was really trying to say is it would be a "f*** you" to the people who run our club, more than a message to the FA or the Premier League. The problem with doing it for a league game is people have already paid for season tickets etc so the club wouldn't be bothered to be honest. At least with a cup game, everyone has to pay out for a match ticket including ST holders as far as I'm aware so that way, the fans would not lose out as such and an empty ground would raise eyebrows and make a point at the very least. As the Bayern Munich banner in their protest at Arsenal 3 years ago said......"Without fans, Football is not worth a penny". -

I'd quite like someone off the radar who has maybe not even been considered but who knows the game, had a great playing career at some top clubs and I thought he was a quality player (despite getting booked nearly every game lol), what chance of us going Dutch again? Would we be able to attract him is the big question but we did get Koeman after all. I reckon he would have us playing great football too, as someone who tends to be a bit "glass half empty rather than full", I would sooner see us go down playing great football than go down playing the rubbish we have the last couple of years! MARK VAN BOMMEL!!!!!!!!!

Saints to give £250,000 to Gift to Richard Scudamore
Saint WGC replied to Hatch's topic in The Saints
As most people have said, nothing but scandalous and hopefully SFC will for once prove they have some backbone and tell Buck and his Chelsea cronies where to go. After all, if Buck loves his mate so much, he can pay all of it...he must have the money after all. However if Saints go along with this charade, then I'm sure they will recoup the loss by whacking up season ticket prices and everything else fans pay for on match days. Oh and probably to watch more of the dire rubbish the team have served up the last two or three years. Personally, I think the vast majority of senior management in all businesses are "dodgy" at best and some are corrupt. Just look at the banks scandals and Tesco as examples of this. I've got a much better idea where Saints could pay that £250k towards, saying that a season ticket is about £500, how about renewing 500 free season tickets away in a ballot or draw. Think the club would get slightly better publicity doing that.
