Saints wouldn't seem a particularly natural step after building up such a good reputation. Likewise Emery. It won't be either of them.
-
Would rather keep Clode.

The article was from the start of May. Highly likely that Puel has already been ditched. Just waiting for things to fall into place. He couldn't exactly end up staying now and probably wouldn't even want to given how clear the lack of faith in him is from both club, fans and possibly players.
-
Read between the lines, Clive. Pretty obvious what is happening.
-
There is no way Puel can continue as the Manager now. His position has been undermined and is untenable. It wouldn't work with fans, players and media as everyone knows that we have been looking to replace him. He is just a sitting duck until an announcement is made. Not saying its totally the right decision or wrong decision, just that there is little doubt he is going now.
-
Chances of Puel staying must be almost zero now. Once the club starts looking for a new Manager as we clearly are then it makes it impossible for Puel to continue. Ranieri would be a poor appointment IMO. Massive one for Reed and Willo to get right though.

Less than £60m = disappointing Less than £55m = mugged

We make a huge profit. What exactly does he owe? He would be wasting a year of his career in a midtable side and esrning far less money at the same time. Its a no brainer for him, as it would be for any one of us. Better job, better pay, more propsects.
-
The Times saying that City are offering him 180k a week. He would be a fool to turn down that sort of money. Four times his current Saints salary. Those numbers are why its an utter no brainer to leave Saints.
-
Apparently he hasn't been a starter for parts of the season, so £20m a good price for them.
-
Shame it would be a loan but thats PL wages for you. Hasn't worked out for Clasie and never will in the PL. Clearly physically unsuited to the PL, suprised the scouting dept didn't overide Koeman on this one - poor replacement for Schneiderlin.
-
Imagine we make contact with a large number. Be amazed if Tuchel or Emery gave us a second thought to be honest. If you aren't in European competition and have little prospect of being so then its a tough sell.
-
Genuine question: why would the likes of Tuchel or Emery want to join Saints when its quite obvious that there is a an ever growing divide between the PL teams who have lot of spending power and those who don't? They would very likely be able to achieve 8th as the best possible attainable position (perhaps 7th if Everton don't spend well) and will have a very slim chance of managing in Europe here. Imagine the only chance of attracting those level of Manager's would be with a hefty transfer budget which we almost certainly won't have (expecting another net profit in the summer window assuming VVD goes).

Seems like the wee lad is sunning himself in Portugal at the moment. Very questionable record (and suits) yet gained a big promotion recently.
-
Letting Tadic go to a direct rival would be stupid.
-
If City are paying £45m for an uncapped goalkeeper from the Portuguese league (Ederson) then is £50m really a good price for a proven class PL defender? IMO no. Prices will be mental this summer so selling for £50m would be very poor business for such a sought after player with many years left on his contract.

http://www.espnfc.com/paris-saint-germain/story/3135140/nasser-al-khelaifi-unai-emery-200-percent-certain-to-remain-at-psg 200% certain to stay at PSG according to their CEO. Assume Emery is who people have referred to (not sure why the person cannot be named)? If it is him then our chance of getting him must be very slim so hopefully we have a backup plan.
-
Surely its obvious enough by now that Caceres was a required panic signing due to a rather substantial defensive cock up in the transfer window, and equally obvious that he has and probably never had much of a future beyond the length of his short term deal?
-
Iheanacho is an excellent buy at the sort of figures quoted. Would be a bit gutted if he signed permanently for a rival.
-
Why? He has been nothing but professional at Saints and utterly superb. If he went to Liverpool he would be moving to a far bigger team with better players, a better Manager, more chances of winning trophies, ability to play in the Champions League next season as well as a lot more money. Why would you boo him when from his point of view it would be a good move on many levels?
-
Surely Spurs wouldn't allow Walker and Rose to go to Man City?
-
Talks for Arsenal to sign Henry Onyekuru going well. Top scorer in Belgium. £6.8m release clause. 1st Nigeria call up http://pbs.twimg.com/media/DAlF4POXUAA_SyE.jpg Bit of a blow to miss out on this guy as we have been watching him for ages it seems. Low fee too for such potential.
-
If so, it won't be a prosperous one. He would be one of the weakest starting full backs in the league.
-
If Bertrand left, not replacing him would be quite frankly ludicrous. McQueen has been promising but also quite green at times. Targett has played quite a number of games now and clearly hasn't got that extra yard of pace you need at PL level. He is hesitant in attack and poor one v one defensively. Really hope this is bull****.
