in 41 years nothing has changed if you want to be guaranteed a ticket for a final, get a season ticket and give the club your money up front. although in 76 we had vouchers, very few season ticket holders those days, and had to queue at the Dell for hours

been the same for 55 year

based on the performances this season , think the coaching at the club is done by the coach of the Dog and Duck Sunday league team

A real nice guy, got to know him and his dad when the team travelled on same train as fans on way back from away games up front, always had time to talk irrespective of how drunk you were cannot agreed they were the best saints team , most exiting, but the 84 side has to go down as best team -
heard it all before in Channon's time and Le Tiss

i am more worried by the complacency of our supporters who are scrambling around looking for excuses for the very poor football we have played this season. we have become arrogant in praising the "Southampton Way" and mocked other teams but the we are forgetting the golden rule of football , all clubs are only as strong as their first team and manager !

But with little likelihood of finishing higher than 9th, and with pi** poor football, hardly the Southampton Way

3 changes in the back 4, 3 mins that show you why not

Good summary i have been thinking 3 and 5 for a few weeks been going to games for 55 years and used to losing more than we win, current generation of fans has not known many disappointments, this could all go tits up very quickly -
BEST of luck I gave up trying

the midfield issue is down to Puel, we were out numbered as there 4-5-1 against our 4-3-3 gave them a numeric superiority. Problem is Redmond and Boufal only contribute going one way for most of the time (Penalty incident being a big exception) always going to be difficult once you go down to 10 against a side who looked far fitter than us,but even in other games we stick to 4-3-3, substituting like for like, never any variation. It just about works against the mid table teams but against the top 6 at home we are going to be exposed in midfield. Hate to say it but Puel is not in same league as Poch or Koeman when it comes to changing a game

Where would we be had we kept Mane, Pelle and Wanyama?
70's Mike replied to stevy777_x's topic in The Saints
Reality is without selling Pelle and Mane we would have bought no one -
appears to be un droppable

wot better than "look at me" mark Clattenburg ? totally agree

interesting points, i wondered during the game if we sat back as part of a plan because Liverpool's strength is hitting teams on the break and, as they did today, struggle to break down teams who sit back.
