End of Season Review: 14th Place - 41 points
70's Mike replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Finished higher than i expected, with basically same squad as came up,things will improve. -
maybe because there players never turn and are always looking skywards
-
down to the sprinklers we have have same problem at club i am associated with if we turn on at half time
-
imo totally wrong, we seem to be a community based club when it suits us, each should be remembered separately.
-
do not worry Lungs it will, it is in their inbred nature to be c*nts. they have never done anything without bending the rules. My wifes family are all skates and the best way to wind them up is not to talk about football, just give them a silly grin and when they ask about Saints I just say things like "i would rather talk about tax evasion or charity fiddling or facilities at training grounds etc" Living here in border country sightings of skate blue shirts is getting a rare sight by the day, with whole squads at the local youth football club being saints not a skate in sight

totally agree WTFILN

WUMs v Happy Clappies: A psychological analysis
70's Mike replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Dunc from the days of the Dolly Diner Saints have mirrored life lots of lows, a few great highs, great friendships i hope this forum is not a microcosm because if it is a think a better get the razor blades out -
Look i want him to stay, like i wanted Lawrie Mac and George Reader to stay But Southampton Football Club is bigger than one man or swiss family. What will be will be and if it ends up that my next trip to wembley is in the JPT again so be it

WUMs v Happy Clappies: A psychological analysis
70's Mike replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Agreed used to be a time when football was about enjoying, having a laugh etc not analysing peoples behaviour -
agreed please to be wrong i always thought it would go to last game
-
NAH they would be dead or sucidial by now
-
lots of great memories, cup run in 76.promotion 77/78,84 cup run. Cup Winners Cup away to Marsailles and Anderlecht were never to be forgotton trips. Carlisle away 6 nil victory But top 3 for me, in no particular order, Orient in 78 Bradford in 76 Skates in 84 Other thing whilst Alan Knight game was scary, the John Milkins one years before was worst
-
imo 5 points is a lot, it will be interesting how FFP will eventually effect teams league places, with more emphasis being placed on gate income and wage bills
-
Still premature to discuss next season imo, still need a point. But assuming we get it , aim for me is tp get to 40 points and see where we go after that. the steps become harder as you get nearer the top League 1 to Championship and then to Premier relatively easy compared to going from 17th to 10th

Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
70's Mike replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
lets all give up, and constantly knock the team, its an easier option -
Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

or lets all give up like you, sit behind the keyboard and slag the club off -
Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
70's Mike replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
agree with some of that BUT we are not a good side but i believe there are 3 worst -
Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

same as us beating City, Liverpool and Chelsea, its football and someone has to lose, judgement time is after the Stoke game not now -
theres a few on here as you will find out
-
so without his coaching the side to the three wins against City, Scouse and Chelsea we would have been down already, strange logic
-
be careful or you will be made to be outcasts by those who love to knock the club
