  1. stop buying during ruperts time and having seen new size will keep money in my pocket
  2. just glad that by youth was in the 70's
  3. get used to it , defensive stabilty comes with a price especially at home
  4. Interesting people say we have not played as well as we can, i believe we have changed the way we play to be solid at the back and that we may not see flowing football as much this season unless we score early and draw the other team out at Hom
  5. Noticed today that around 50 seats have been turned into additional press space either side of TV gantry
  6. agreed most dominate midfield player since Jimmy Case
  7. Wanyama may give the ball away but imo he covers every blade of grass and breaks up the opposition poession time after time, not always pretty but effective, bet Lovren and Fonte love him
  8. Interesting people say we have not played as well as we can, i believe we have changed the way we play to be solid at the back and that we may not see flowing football as much this season unless we score early and draw the other team out at Home
  9. attendances will continue to drop as prices rise unless team is challenging for honours. the cost for a family of the whole experience is just to high,
  10. November 81, stood in the Kop. Made up for the Cup Game , think early 70's, when were chased from Anfield to Lime Street
  11. Only player in side with ability to go past a defender, we are full of workman like players but little flair
  12. Same problem we have had at home for last 3 seasons, teams who put 11 behind the ball and play 2 out wide to restrict our full backs getting behind them. We need teams to come to play to hit them on counter attack.
  13. Difficult question and normally I end up listing 5 but i suppose the one that really sticks in mind is Steve Moran at Fratton in 84, it really gave me a greater buzz at the time than any other, including Paine in 66, Funnell in 86 or Stokes in 76. You had to have been there to understand, most hostile tense game i have ever seen in over 50 years of support
  14. agree whilst i have a season ticket, youngest son is going instead of me with his brother because he is off to uni following week and we did not renew his ticket. A few years back i would have bought a ticket but price, and my age means i am happy to watch on sky
  15. but they have the bestest fans, although i think they will slowly slink under their stones as results get worst, skates are, have always been and always will be glory , jump on the band wagon , hunters
  16. I have a video of the game produced by the Club, a mirror BUT mainly great memories of some great away days Villa, WBA,Bradford,The Bridge and Friday to Monday night for the Final. 22 money in my pocket then in July of to Lloret with 9 mates, rubbing all the plastic mancs up the wrong way what a 7 months
  17. not sure what all the fuss is about, they told us their cash flow was flexible and everything was on the spreadsheet.
  18. Problem is the FA trying to come up with all encompassing policies to improve standards. The issue for me is that Grassroots football are being asked to improve the level of ability of young players and bear that cost, the players who are good enough are already at Academys and there future is in the hands of the so called Professional clubs, problem is that the Professional clubs are solely motivated by money and so the players do not get a chance. Young english players are going to academys from 8 orr younger and are meant to be taught by the best in the game so why are they not good enough? The number of Level1 coaches in this country is going up but it is a very basic qualification, it is not until you get to level 2 that you start getting taught how to play and coach the actual game rather than just training, and until the FA starts offering cheaper courses at Level 2 the actual standard of play in games will not improve. The current move to 9 v 9 at Under 11 will help but unless parents are banned from going to games little Jonny will still hoof it it Dad mouths off enough. It is getting more and more difficult at grassroots level to find volunteers to coach, manage and help run clubs, partly because of the FA rules which assume that ALL CLUBS are run by full time employees rather than volunteers. Until the FA tackle the Premier League nothing will happen
  19. With a cr*p view
  20. This we only have Lallana who takes defenders on,
  21. Difference is there are alternatives at SMS, Whereas Stoneham Car Parks were all going to exit onto the same road with very limited other parking within walking distance
  22. Agreed
  23. surely the super cash flow spreadsheets are up to date, why wait until Monday
  24. had 36000 in 1984 but that was for the visit of the mighty Saints
