once again we set out not to lose a game, then decided to go for it and run out of time its nuts to do the same thing every home game and not learn Butland's confidence must have been down after his cock up last week, but he had f**k all to do in the first half. even Branfoot finally realised he was wrong about le tiss, this bloke learns nothing, god knows who is mates are on the training staff because they also must be a load of yes men

VERY TRUE and being stuck on coaches no way to really defend ourselves

plenty of trouble in 76, in pubs before game United fans trying to steal tickets and pitch battle on the steps of wembley, different design to these days, with saints fans using flag poles to keep united out. In those days you could take huge banners on big poles into cup final. Inside as others said plenty of things thrown as united has 70% of 100k present and were all over the so called neutral zones. After game a few isolated incidents but most Saints just wanted to get back home to celebrate

have no idea if he is any good or not.Strikers rely on service and we provide very little

to be honest the performances mean nothing between now and the end of the season, just the results as previous relegation performances have shown. Questions are do we have a Dodd and Benali to put their bodies on the line , and a finisher to take our odd chances?

This will be fun...get those applications in..

They need to realize that the off pitch stuff means nothing if the on pitch stuff is not right this is Rupert again after 2003 nearly impossible to market a team that keeps losing without effort really starting to fear for future, something stinks, glad i have had 56 years of support where in the majority of those football on the pitch came first not marketing -
If we are going to keep MoPe, what has he got to change?
70's Mike replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
any change should be better than at present although with this bloke i think he could make it worst. not pc but at half time he should have been saying to Long get on right next to van dyke and rough him up a bit, but no he is stuck out wide and was not in game. one thing is certain goals are scored from inside the box, so unless balls and players get in there , you are not scoring -
Sack him get Gordon Strachan in to end of season and put some fire in bellys it was always going to be tough yesterday but to roll over and just try and keep it at two nil was a disgrace and the players who fought to retain our premiership status in 80's and 90's must feel ashamed of the current lot and the tactics they are being asked to play

Had season ticket ever since they introduced terrace season tickets under the west stand at the Dell(no idea of year) and like others have never, even under branfoot we had Tiss sometime, watched such a leaderless squad. Manager rabbitt in headlights whose half time team talk leads to a worst second hand performance. renewal will depend on division and cost and above all leadership sack the guy get Gordon Strachan in to end of season and get some fire in bellys

Sounds like a Wigley appointment
-
other than 25% less physical effort than the spuds game
-
i have been saying for months that is the worst team we have had in my 57 years of support, made up of some of the best players we have ever had. manager stinks at any level if you go with 2 up top through the middle you get the ball to them quickly and then play off them not continue to go square, waste of time having the two up there
-
IT IS INDEED
-
May have been helped by the spuds singing oh when the spurs at same time because saints/spurs merged into one, was better mainly because players putting in massive effort
-
the club has a hardcore of about 15000, as shown in the league one days, the other 13000 who have been turning up in last few years will fade away based on performance levels.
-
Blame the fans its easier than tackling the root problem, just as in ruperts days we have forgotten that having a strong first team is the secret, slogans, marketing and academies only work if the first team is good
-
i have friends from Charlton who warned me years ago that this would happen, strange thing is i can almost forgive him for first team issues BUT his big selling point was the Southampton Way with production line from academy that has ground to a halt
-
Nor does getting up at 6am, to catch a coach at 7am to blow £100 plus for me and 2 lads to watch them roll over and get their stomachs tickled. Redmond spends his time blaming everyone else during a game, left Targett exposed two against one all game
-
worst team, some of the best players, worst manager in 56 years of support. including Branfoot, no fight, no shape production line of youth had dried up but not to worry WE March On and Do IT OUR WAY
-
to much rotation and looking at next game rather than winning. players will not be tired if winning. where are the young uns to challenge this shower, that is the question that should be asked of uncle les
-
YES he is not interested m would rather have Jack/Yoshi giving 100% than him posing around , living on pre injury reputation than what he is giving at moment
-
Think he and Black should be gone by Monday, not because of today but the defeats or dropped points to teams we should be thumping, only problem is i do not trust Reed, never have, to find a replacement. we have been fed b*llsh*t about the Southampton way but where are the players coming through the system? something needs to happen because we are drifting badly and do not kid yourself there are 3 worst teams, current form suggests that is not the case
-
Needs to hurt the opposition more to become a top player,
-
a lot of the free transport at Brighton we had when SMS was open, free bus travel, park and ride at Bursledon, but all gone now as will Brighton's in a few years
-
JUST hope we go for it from the start and not wait until we are a goal down before upping the pace by 50% to get back in game
