JayRod came home from Holland on Thursday. We were told he had picked up a virus.

About 15 of us managed to get through the road blocks, riot police and the mayors personal protection unit so felt we should keep a low profile in the ground :-) Would need to see how he fared against better opposition.

Just back from Holland. Great trip as usual and too much beer drunk as usual. Couple of days of detox then back out on Wednesday. As for the game. 1st half we completely dominated. Some nice quick passing and some rally nice movement from the front 3. 2nd half we lost the intensity. Zwolle were poor but we rarely troubled them in the 2nd half. Only 1st real game of pre season so plenty of game time to come. I do think though that some of our youngsters will be on the fringes this season and may be better off going out on loan to play more competitive football.

Spoke to the club today to register an interest in tickets and was told this is a knock on effect from the trouble at the Euro's. All the Dutch clubs are being very wary of travelling English fans. How sad is that !! I see today that the QPR pre season game with PSV is going to be behind closed doors

Flights already booked for Zwolle so we will be going to the game. This must be a 1st that fans are banned from a pre season friendly !! Especially as the numbers are likely to be under 50. Very strange indeed. We were at Groningen last season and were made very welcome. What has happened to make this club so bad ? Surely the yoof in Arnhem cannot be the cause of all this !

Going to do the Zwolle game as a weekend away. Fly back out on the Wednesday for Twente then travel up to Groningen. Return home on the Sunday. Should be a good one.

Had a great time over there last pre-season so will probably do it again. Groningen is a great place.

Sky sports transfer centre saying Everton and Koeman have agreed terms and it is now up to the clubs to agree compensation.

It is a mate of mines son's stag weekend. They spoke to the Latvian FA to arrange to have a meeting with Marian. I know they will be in a bar for the Saints-Spuds game.

We in the Chapel normally hear anti p****y songs from the Northam pretty much from kick off. It was very pleasing not to hear them until the final few minutes. Keep it up lads. Get behind the Saints and forget that insignificant little team from down the road.

Everybody is assuming that Koeman spoke to the press and not the players first. I should think Koeman has a better idea than us how to manage his playing staff !

Are our youngsters really that good ? We have farmed out a few to lower league clubs and some still cannot get a regular game. Look at the young English players in the premier league. They are miles ahead of ours.

After watching Vitesse last week I do not think we will struggle. As for not playing Clasie ! He certainly looked like he knew his teammates last week.

Back yesterday from a great pre-season tour. Saw some great football, met some brilliant people and drunk far too much beer !!! I like the look of how our team is preparing for the coming season. We were comfortable against Gronigen. Seeing as both our seasons start on the same weekend we were so much fitter than them. KVV Quick was just a Turkey shoot. Great fun for the 30 or so that were there. According to the locals Quick are one of the better amateur sides. God knows what the score could have been against the worst ! Feyenoords stadium was superb. Great atmosphere and non stop singing from the Saints fans. I thought the team put in another composed performance. People on here are doubting Clasie but for me he is a class act. A player who reads the game very well and he is always in space available for a pass. His pass completion rate was superb. As long as he can cope with the intensity of the premier league we have a new star on our hands. Every Dutch fan you talk to really rates him. We spent Wednesday in Arnhem. Walked to the ground from the centre. Not advisable as it is over 30 minutes walk ! Much easier to catch the number 7 bus that drops you right outside. I collected the tickets I had ordered and bought 5 more. The woman in the ticket office was happy to sell me as many as I wanted. You can even buy them from the Primera shops that are throughout Holland without any restrictions. When to watch Vitesse in a pre season game in the evening. Although no way of knowing how many 1st team players were playing they looked pretty poor. A couple of lively lads in the middle of the park but a couple of old centre halves who will struggle with the pace of some of ours. I am confident we will win this game after what I have seen of both teams last week. Bring on Arnhem next Thursday

I cannot imagine tickets for the game will be a problem. I would be very surprised if anywhere near 100 decided to go to this game as we have a Europa cup game a week or two later. I have never bought tickets for pre seasons early only on the day at the ground.
