  1. Don't know, can only speak from my own experience. My dad was a councillor from 1984-98 and a huge Saints fan, and I never once remember him referring to Mayors getting season tickets. Unfortunately he passed away in '98 so I can't ask him what was the situation in the 80s.
  2. My dad was Mayor in the mid 1990s and he never got a free season ticket. Don't think this is correct.
  3. Why don't you write an article on the same theme and post it here. Your prose thus far leaves me to think your writing would not stand comparison.
  4. TL quite clearly said there was one money man worth hundreds of millions who was buying the club. TL also said the players and staff wages would be paid. Seems to be a fair bit of back tracking today
  5. Fffing how, haven't you heard the saying "2 wrongs don't make a right"? There's no excuse. Our club could die and a minority of these so called fans could have put the final nail in the coffin. Over reaction? Not according to Mark Fry: Adding to Saints' worries is the pitch invasion at the end of Saturday's 2–2 draw at home to Burnley, which saw home supporters throw objects at the visiting fans and exposes the club to a possible fine from the Football Association. "I just hope they don't punish us for that as well because the club has to find a buyer and any further threat of punishment will not help us to do that," said Mark Fry, the joint administrator. Taken from the Guardian and in the thread 'Southampton could fold in 8 days.'
  6. It should also be on the front page of tomorrow's Echo. Why are the likes of LC, MC and LM not making this plain to a much wider public audience? I think most fans still believe we will be bought and will carry on - but there's a real chance we could fold before that happens. Very worrying.
  7. Me too - and I hope I die before the club dies
