It astonishes me how many of our 'fans' think we can stop VvD or whoever from leaving us and moving to Liverpool/Man Utd or whoever. The alternative is to never attract these type of players in the first place and to appoint Tony fûcking Pulis. There is a pecking order in football, it's been around for a while now, I don't like it but that's tough, I accept it as it is. I would suggest that anyone who can't accept this should either support a Chelsea/City/United or find another sport.

Aside from a spell last season, Long has never been prolific, he's always been one of those strikers that doesn't score many goals, I don't know why people are surprised..

So in summary so far : Higgins is sacked by Saints amid allegations. Goes to court but is acquitted after no evidence comes forward. Higgins gets himself further employment in football community. 2016 players name Higgins in fresh allegations. Hardly a culture of sexual abuse at Southampton as initial reports had us believe. I'm not trying to downplay what is a very serious business here, but am I right in thinking that basically, Saints sacked a wrongun when his alleged behaviour was reported and there endeth Saints involvement?

Exactly, unless he's been found guilty, what can you do? He's free to take work wherever he can obtain it. The real issue regarding Saints will be how much was known about his alleged misdemeanours and what did we (the club) do about it.... surely the whistle should have been blown if accusations were made?
