  1. Presumably, a minor altercation can no longer be described as "handbags"?
  2. KWP, with JWP at RB, given that he's not doing much in midfield at present. Romeu and Lavia shielding, Aribo and SA as the 10s and Mara and Adams up top.
  3. It would seem that Ralph wasn't trolling us about Romeu!
  4. On the money there, he has an attitude problem.
  5. Bravo, Matt.
  6. If Semmens did say that, I commend him for his honesty. A football club is a business and he is its CEO; as such, his responsibility is to ensure the ongoing security of the business and to act in the best interests of his bosses, the share-holders, who expect a return, otherwise they would not have invested. Admittedly, it's a pretty unusual business, one in which the interests of its customers (the fans) often are seen not to align with those of the share-holders (the owners). If they feel that the business is not giving them value for money, customers are free to select an alternative supplier, of course... Except it's not like that, at least in the minds of loyal supporters. Except it is like that, exactly like that, in the business that is modern football.
  7. That was a cracking performance from Everton. I don't think Saints are safe.
  8. Are you part of the problem, or part of the cure?
  9. I am a relatively new and infrequent poster on here. I had hoped that this would be a board on which one could share the highs and lows of being a Saints supporter; instead it is dominated by 3 or 4 posters, arguing constantly about insignificant shite, be it statistics or a player's "ceiling". Any chance we could get back to the football?
  10. I didn't see the game, but, from what I have read, Romeu was knackered. There's your problem, right there.
  11. Contractual?
  12. If you are going to scweam and scweam until you are sick, at least get your grammar correct.
  13. She's certainly taken a few jabs.
  14. Bugger, must be getting old, as I was there! (I also went to all 3 away games and was gutted that the run ended so appallingly).
  15. Puel was a pragmatist and did what he thought best with the mediocre squad at his disposal. Playing for a draw (and losing, thereby ending our European campaign) at home against Be'er Sheva was unforgivable, though.
  16. Moi always had the technical ability, but no pace. I was harsh on him when he arrived, for trying to skin full-backs, when he clearly didn't have the skill-set. That led to a loss of confidence and a subsequent shipping off to Scotland. He has returned as a more mature player, now used in a system that rewards intelligent play, into which he fits like a glove. He is not a winger, more of an inside attacking midfielder, perfect for the 4-2-2-2. Wonderful to see.
  17. That's because he's now got two proper number 10s in the middle 2 positions.
  18. I reckon he will have to get used to splinters in his arse, now that Gerrard has signed his mate, Coutinho.
  19. Any chance of that again, in English?
  20. What the fuck do you want from a keeper?
  21. He is certainly playing better when not being stuck at the back of the 4-2-2-2 with Romeu, where he looks ponderous and tends to play crab football. He is far better suited to playing further forward, as in the 4-1-4-1 against West Ham and whatever formation was used yesterday, evidenced by his goal (this is where he was played by Southgate too). Hopefully Ralph has finally ditched his belief in the 4-2-2-2 system, as clearly it doesn't work with the squad of players at his disposal, and we see the best of James Ward-Prowse. He's still not worth anything near £60m though...
  22. How are the likes of Southampton ever going to be able to compete with teams like that? Leagues apart.
  23. Utter, utter dogshit. Fuck him off back to the U23s / B team (or sell him for £60m...).
