Yes, very clear that Les REED is the main issue at Saints. Now when did he become a football genius? Was it after he managed Charlton?
-
Song for the next game? He's bald, he's fat , he is a f*****g prat. Les Reed, Les Reed
-
Having read Exit2's conclusion, sadly it was what I deduced from the known facts the other day. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?24878-Is-Les-Reed-the-cause-of-AP-departure
-
Yes but Les Reed is deciding what players are scouted and then sits with Cortese on the transfer committee out voting Pardew on who is bought and sold. Nothing wrong with Reed running the Academy but Reed is acting as the DoF.
-
Yes but there is a logic to what he is saying that the prblem is how Cortese is structuring the Club and undermining the Team manager. It fits very well into the known facts and with the words Cortese used to justify the sackings.
-
Dave Merrington said on Solent that the main cause of Pardew departing is that the role of Team manager has been undermined by the Les Reed appointment and the Team manager is not having the final say on who is bought and sold. Merrington went on to say that Reed had the ear of Cortese. Now whoever is hired as the Team manager will have to cope with that problem. It will not go away. So we either get a timid Wigley type who fails or a more independent minded Manager who then later has a fall out and departs. The system with Cortese and Reed is inherently unstable. Read what Cortese says is his main priority. Someone who is co-operative with the Les Reed empire.
-
Well the crowd have now taken notice of Cortese and have let him know how much they appreciate him.
-
Is Cortese related to Rupert Lowe?
-
He is allowed to, but it goes down as a mistake. He wasted a chance.
-
How about shooting over the bar?
-
Yes but decisions are being taken for the main goal that "the First Team and the Football Development & Support Centre (are) integrated, co-operative units". It is a whole new philosophy to Business Management, lesson 2.1.1 arising from the Swiss School of Peace, Love and Understanding. (Lecturer Nick Lowe)
-
There are not many left in the ground to boo.
-
Why the surprise? The priority from Cortese is "the First Team and the Football Development & Support Centre as integrated, co-operative units." That is the justification he gave for firing AP+2. The main priority is co-operation between the First Team and Les Reed's empire, not team performance. Another defeat yes. But at least we can rest assured that there will be peace, harmony and co-operation at the training ground.... and Cortese gets the team performance he deserves.

Yeah what do I know having run a major sponsorship deal worth in today's money £20m pa..... I took the view we needed every piece of coverage we could get right down to the mentions in real cartoons.
-
buctootim is struggling to understand this. At least you grasp the meaning of the team captain's statement.
-
Big Bad Bob He was head of the "sports and entertainment desk" at various swiss banks providing services to sports and entertainment professionals.. Nothing there about managing a department (people) or managing a company. He was just an advisor to high net worth people.
-
Far too much sense in here. To reduce the value of our image to a future sponsor ranks amongst the dumbest act any company could do. Right up there with Ratner's "a sandwich is better value than what we sell" remark.
-
What it also does is suppress the promotion of the brand image with future fans, the real lifeblood of the Club. Even if we get into the Championship and then the Prem, the media are not going to do us any favours.
-
With the Hammond statement denying a player revolt ousting Pardew, we have to look at the facts and the sacking statement indicated a problem between the first team management and others at the Training Ground.... The others are all under Les Reed.
-
I agree with Victor, the last thing to do is walk without compensation and even then the best move is wait until I had another job to walk to. There are a lot of unemployed football coaches around, probably a higher ratio than most professions. Sacking the other 2 makes no sense. But then I am looking for how a professional manager would act and forget that Cortese is not that.
-
Are you saying that Hammond is misleading us by saying that it was nothing to do with the players? Or that the Team Captain is out of touch with most of his team mates?
-
Statement from Nicola Cortese essential now.....
Topcat replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
No, the Club is now owned by the Liebherr estate and (we are told) is free of debt. With crowds of 20K plus we are a very viable company. Cortese lacks the experience and ability to run a Company. -
Legod, would you fee comfortable running the Marketing under a CEO who had never managed anything in his previous career? I would not. If appointed I would dust the cv up and start arranging an exit. A banker is not a business manager. PS Saints future brand value partly depends upon its image. Upsetting every newspaper and some of the broadcast media is a very dumb act by someone who does not grasp brand value. Value is more than just the P/E.
-
After the statement from Dean Hammond that the players had nothing to do with the removal of AP and the other 2 coaches, what is the delay in making the appointment? The 2 coaches should have been left in place to at least ensure that the training was thorough.

Yes AP was replaceable at the right time and with some planning. Something Cortese clearly f**ked up big time. Cortese is also replaceable and the sooner he is gone the better.
