  1. I think an interesting choice would be Murat Yakin- we were linked with him pre-Koeman but he joined Spartak Moscow- didn't do so great there but he did an excellent job at Basel before that when they had a great run in Europe and played some really good football with Salah, Elneny, Schar etc. Although he's currently managing in the Swiss second division with Schauffhausen I'm pretty sure he went there to help out his brother (Hakan) with coaching, after he joined I think they went from bottom to 4th. Probably too much information but I think he'd be a good fit.
  2. Paulo Sousa would be a good fit- or Pellegrino. Either of the P's, the P's are good- apart from Puel.
  3. My streams stopped working....Thank god.
  4. They should have won that so happy with a point. Thought a major positive today was Stephens- looked really composed in possession and made some tidy passes. Romeu our best player again. Hopefully the clean sheet will do Forster some good cus he was all over the shop.
  5. There's a few good young players coming through at Toulouse atm. Would be surprised if they're not on our radar. Yann Bodiger- DM, Alexis Blin- CM, Issa Diop- CB (Highlight video) Imagine all would be around our usual 10-15m price bracket and I'm sure Puel will be aware of them.
  6. Good to see the generally positive reaction on here. Very proud to see the lads have a real go. Romeu, Gabbers & JWP were really great. There's no shame in being beaten by a player like Ibra. Continue to play like that for the rest of the season and we'll be top 10 again no problem.
  7. Went 2-1 down just when we looked like winning it. Redmond & Tadic are too frustrating- play Boufal all the time. Now's the time we have to stop rotating and just play are best team.
  8. Yeh agreed on the Reading game- Jason Roberts tore him a new one.
  9. He's a step up from one of the most consistent defenders in the premier league over the last few years?! Is he!??
  10. I don't think either are bad players, but I can't see our board going for them. There's too much risk, neither has played for aaaages.
  11. As poo as this news is for all of us- I don't think we can begrudge the fella a big move if it comes along- he's been absolutely outstanding for us over the years- one of the best centre backs in the premier league recently & in the history of the club. Good luck to him wherever he ends up- bloody legend.
  12. It was just nice to see us involved in an entertaining game- really proud of J-Rod today- get him confident and we won't need a striker in January. Boufal looks a real livewire, Davis & Bertrand were fantastic. Cedric seriously needs to sort out his crossing though.
  13. He's a great fit for the club- shares the same values & does his job in an understated manner. Much prefer him to RK. We just need to score some bloody goals!
  14. That was much needed after Thursday. Really good performance- just lacked that second goal but much more promising. Cedric got my MOTM but could of chose from 5-6. I would play Sims again Wednesday- keep the momentum going.
  15. Admittedly I didn't watch the Liverpool game however the Hull & Sparta games have been equally awful. We're crying out for a creative midfielder- someone who can make a forward pass- I was hoping Hojberg might be that when we signed him however feels like he needs a little more time. Unfortunately Clasie & JWP never offer anything- whilst Long & J-Rod are both shot of confidence up front. Having said that at least qualification is still in our hands- it will be crucial Hapoel don't score first however as I can see the nerves getting the better of us.
  16. Got what we deserved, nonchalant attitude, jogging round like it's a training match. Not impressed.
  17. You also have to consider he's playing for a pretty average championship side in Blackburn. If the standard of players around him improved he'd probably be scoring even more. Really good to see him getting game time and making the most of it. Hopefully he can continue then get his chance next season in our first team.
  18. Schneiderlin- loved that guy. And Lallana- I know we're supposed to hate him now but he's a bloody good player.
  19. Fair point- I'm by no means saying he's a bad player, I'm quite happy to see him on our team sheet, and to do all of the above shows he has a great attitude mentally, good leadership qualities etc. But I'm never going to be convinced until he starts putting away those chances he always blazes over the bar. He needs to be more clinical, both with passing and shooting, and he'll know that better than anyone.
  20. Yeh agree- I don't think JWP is ever going to be a star, but he's a good rotation option, someone who works hard and knocks the ball around a bit, almost like saints Mark Noble. The fact that he's already made so many appearances for the club suggest managers see his quality though. After last night I think the youngsters are going to have a tough time breaking through- Reed and McQueen were solid but Isgrove & Stephens were poor, and although Olomola looks lively his ball control wasn't great and he looks really heavy footed. I'm quite happy with the draw personally- gives us a chance to make up for that undeserved defeat at the Emirates earlier this season. (Obviously would of preferred Leeds at home though.)
  21. Great result.Completely agree with all points. I find Clattenburg infuriating- not just because he always seems to favour our opposition- but his general manner, A referee shouldn't revel in the drama and love being the centre of attention. They are there to observe and officiate when needed- not to be the star of the show which he clearly thinks he is. Thought captain Fonte was outstanding today- my MOM. Will be interesting to see when Bertrand and Targett are fit how much game time Mcqueen will get as he's shown this week he is a reliable option. Also hope Boufal gets the start on Wednesday.

  23. Such a shame we didn't get anything. But just shows how far we've come since league one days to be disappointed not to win at the San Siro!! Inter were durge until they took the lead. We have to be more clinical in the home tie. Thought Mcqueen did great again and Romeu too. Hope Fonte gets the chance to captain us against them in a couple of weeks- because he's earnt it.
