I've got no comment on last nights result other than it was a terrible, terrible second half, probably not helped by rag talk approaching January over key players in our defence but hey ho. Not exactly how official this is, but heard noises coming out of Spurs, who at Spurs I have no idea, but apparently we expected a penalty against us, therefore prior to the match we got our groundsman to dig the penalty spot and "adjust" it so that Harry Kane missed. Seriously.

No idea.

How's this for a bet. I bet I'm a lot closer to the action than you are pretty boy.

I can tell you now..and whether you believe me or not, I don't care. But I can tell you right now, the only way Virgil will stay is if Fonte leaves the club, especially if any bid comes in from you know who. The club wants Virgil as Captain, I said it months ago and that goes back to the backend of Koeman.. Fonte is spitting the dummy out about it and has been for quite a while, the 2 barely see eye to eye. That's the issue that is giving other clubs leverage considering the guy has a 6 year contract.

The kit was designed specifically for this fixture.

Even better, email the club your seat number or approximate location as close to these people as possible if you don't want to disclose it.

Just supposing.... The £25M release clause does exist. But only takes effect after a certain period of time stipulated (which is what the rag(s) doesn't say). eg: "X year deal, we want X years from you, however, if a club comes in with a bid of £25M after that period you can go". That's likely the case and that's probably his contract. It's unlikely a player is going to commit to a contract of that sort of length without that type of clause in there, those types of clauses are pretty bog standard and any smart agent worth his salt would request that. Virgil signed a 6 year contract, that's a massive length of time where circumstances can change in that time. They are designed to protect the player and the club. It's common.

The bits I'm hearing is Black has already been suspended.

I don't have access to KL's diary to give you the when, where, who and why.

I've been linked this. Right at this moment in time, this is news to me, although I do not for one second disbelieve it. Although the Liebherr business is HUGE and it could be literally "anything", I wouldn't be at all surprised, in the slightest bit, if this was connected to any possible "takeover". I'm saying this extremely loosely at this point. It does make a lot of things add up for me. I can't speak for others. The comment a few posts up about being careful what you wish for and that under new ownership, it's possible to end up with somebody "detached", whilst the point is a valid one, our current owner is about as detached from the club in a football sense as it likely ever gets.

So I've gone from "Jack Schitt" to "Les Reed" now? Forget it, this is mission impossible and not worth my time.
-
This was down to Les Reed going out of his way completely and the integrity of Boufal's representives. It took close to 18 Months to get this guy (as I've said before) and we weren't the only club in for him (also as I've said before), there were one or 2 that came in late and nearly hijacked the entire deal, which was why I couldn't say any more than I was saying, as you never know who is reading and I took a lot of stick for that. I genuinely thought it was going to collapse at one point. We had a preliminary offer accepted which in itself was already a club record, other clubs showed their hand and Chelsea came in with a ridiculous bid early last week, but Les had invested so much into getting this guy and moved extremely quickly to get it done as I understand Sofiane really wanted to come here and we were the choice of his representatives as well.. (read into that what you like, personally to me that's a positive) As I confirmed here: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?56199-Summer-Transfer-Targets-Thread&p=2380695#post2380695 Whilst I don't know what the exact fee was, it would almost definitely be a lot more than £16M as quoted by sky as that was our first bid and I'm guessing that is the ONLY info they have. P.S I am expecting 1 more, this is probably going to be around @£10M if it get's done.

Just flicking through this thread, I'm pretty sure we didn't lose 5-0 today. Good grief. 3 games in. I thought it was ok today for 3 games in under a new manager and system.
-
Yes. Really.
-
You can take it as read, that Fonte is 99% staying. Cedric was delayed because of the Fonte situation.
-
Jack Stephens is one of the players who might go out on loan.
-
Jack Schitt is (and has) absolutely nothing to do with Southampton Football club, based on what he has posted in the past and what I have seen. He has, however, caused the club a LOT of problems, especially in the wake of Ronald Koemans exit, which by the way wasn't even close for the most part, bits were sort of close but not really pertinent, from what I know of the situation which is quite a lot.
-
It is. What I said yesterday is rock solid.
-
You sir are a moron.

There has been NO bid from Manchester United or any other club for Jose Fonte at this point in time and neither is there expected to be. I realise there are 2 threads running so I'll inlcude this one here and that is I'm led to believe that the club have virtually completed one signing and are in advanced stages on a 2nd, nothing I have seen suggests there will be 3 signings coming into the club. Keep in mind, the transfer window is coming to an end and the usual paper trash /agent spin will be heightened.
-
(highlighted) I have no idea whatsoever and would never be told that info either, I just know those are the numbers. The other questions, I have no idea to those either, that's literally the extent of what I know of it. I don't think a great many people would know the answer to those either but would love to, especially Liverpool.

It (specifically the club) analyses between 100-200 players every single season. In the last 3 seasons alone over 500 players have been through it, we certainly have not signed 500 players, so that is testimony to the accuracy of the system. It holds every single statistic that can be measured (probably including everything that can't aswell) and that is cross referenced against current players to find potential new ones. Literally every "in play" stat is stored and cross referenced against whoever it is we are looking to replace, hence, the calibre of players that have been brought in. 4 people have access to that room which has 4 screens inside it with a visual Database on each screen, nobody else gets in there, unless you happen to know someone well enough to authorise you to. When bringing in a player, the Black Box believe it or not, is just a rough starting point of a VERY long process, beyond just whether the player has the ability to kick a ball or not. The club takes a keen interest in the person aswell as the player, most importantly the representives of that player too, you can take it as read every player who gets into the club has been well and truly put through the mill.

Almost definitely a different player. Because the player I said we are trying to get over line, I know that the bid was ACCEPTED and the response from the player was a green light and but it's not done, likely wrangling over terms. Presumably. The poster above (Guan) could be talking about the 2nd player, as we are definitely in for 2, but I don't expect that to exceed the fee paid for Dani Osvaldo, but this is football and we are in the closing stages of the window and he may have different information.
