Taïder Joins on 1 year Loan & Osvaldo to Inter - Official

Plus I'd give some of our own talent a chance over an average winger as Schelotto seems to be. -
In not going to disagree that the communication has been poor, however were is the proof that Morgan was promised a move? How do you know that the only u turn here is the club playing hard ball with a player and has beaten Morgan and his agent to the punch. Saints make it public to the fans regarding both players - to me it's equally possible that Morgan hoped that the club would follow the same pattern as other transfers I.e let him go for the right fee. Instead the club has u turned and now he's frustrated that he not going to get away easily. This to me is arm equally viable scenario. As alpine says Krueger is no mug, and if rather we as fans support the club over any player.

So hang on, what are the board supposed to do? Both occasions they've been vilified either being silent and letting players go if they don't want to be here, not we have the reverse its the same reaction. I'd rather have the club be strong and have Krueger put the ball into Schneiderlins court - which it should be. If he throws the toys out of the pram let him look bad, not the club.

Do I really need to spell it out? Bigger clubs will get our players, no matter the nonsense fans spout about loyalty. Fact is Shaw, Lovern, Lallana and Chambers will all be at clubs vying or in the champions league, at big clubs. Saints fans aren't 'losers' , well at least the ones sensible and realistic enough to understand the very basics of the transfer market. It seems that a great deal of saints fans are absolutely deluded.
-
Did you complain as passionately when we bought Rodriguez from Burnley? Did you vent your fury at the unfairness of football when we pinched Wanyama from our feeder club Celtic? How about nicking Tadic, one of the better players in Holland from their league?
-
Well if people are upset, they should direct it to the players that didn't want to be here. I'm proud the club have at least got good deals for all who've left so far.
-
Once again I am bemused at what saints fans actually expect to happen when Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal start to make enquires into our players? I'm afraid the transfers that have taken place so far, and the seemingly imminent loss of Lovern and Chambers, are all inevitable. If people still don't want to understand that then go back and read the list of clubs involved. Added to this is the power players have now - ultimately if Shaw et al. see a huge opportunity in what could be a trustingly short career they'll do everything to ensure it'll happen. This criticising of the club is unfounded, and to me it's symptomatic of frustrated fans venting anger without a sense of reality of modern football and our position in it. We have bought many players from teams below us in the pyramid, the likes of Liverpool will do it to us, and in turn Barcalona will do it to them.

It's disappointing but let's not get dramatic. Lovern leaving is not a sudden shock, and even without his actions made publicly, what do you really expect we can do if a Club like Liverpool comes calling for our better players? Some fans need a reality check. This is the reality of modern football. If we played hard ball regarding the Shaw/Lallana/Lovern transfers what advantage would have been gained?

I trust Koemans authority on the matter. He obviously thinks he can make the step up, and Pelle knows it's a leap to play in the prem as he mentions in the interview. His positioning and finishing look good so if he has speed of mind he should do ok. I expect immediate comparisons to Rickie which is understandable
-
Totally agree about Davis, but only question would be if he would get enough games under Koeman - he might not be in his plans especially with signings coming in. I would prefer him over Morgan and Fonte though. He has good experience as captain already.
-
I like it, but tbf I'll not decide on getting on until I hear back from fans about the quality. Remember the famous in house effort with the ultra tight collar?

The reaction to the new home shirt is fascinating. On one hand I quite like the club trying out new designs. If I continue with that optimism you can say that this latest design is an attempt to explore something different, rather than the same boring red and white stripes year after year. If we did have the same 'template' for every new shirt i.e. red and white stripes, would fans be equally as unhappy for a lack of creativity? I think so. They'd complain about shelling out for a near identical home strip year after year. OK that's me playing devils advocate - personally I dislike this new direction. Sure we've had a sash, one red stripe and various variations before, but there is no doubt that the red and white design is part of the clubs' identity. How would Newcastle fans feel if the club had our Adidas template only black? It would be viewed as an absolutely shocking decision given their clubs' identity to the black and white stripes. Are saints any different? Why should we be? It's part of our identity. Just as it is for Sunderland and Stoke City. All in all, it's only a shirt. And yet we've lost a little part of our identity.

I think this new shirt looks even cheaper. At least umbro's design had something to it, albeit thin stripes.

I was actually more surprised by the feeling towards Fox after 2 games. Yes he had a mistake against City and wasn't brilliant vs Wigan but over 2 games its a little harsh. His setup and volley against wigan could have changed opinion if it wasnt well saved by the keeper. Do Prado or Fox its the same - if we aren't winning fans target certain players they 'think' are weak.
-
Ok WTF? Guly had a really decent game today 0/10
-
Wonder what the club's thinking was behind this friendly. 1. match against top quality opposition to bring the squad down to earth, really testing them. 2. quality opposition to try and promote the club and/or sell tickets for the game as a higher profile match. 3. Adkins got it wrong thinking the team could do ok against udinese and go into the season on a high.

Anyone have problems loading the website from outside the UK? On firefox and chrome it starts to load then jumps to a blank white page, no error message or anything, but with xpatshield it loads on both browsers fine.
-
Hang on didn't Richardson and Fox have an insane amount of assists last season? Yes i see on wiki Frazer has 10 and Fox 11. As full backs that's a very good stat.
-
4231? Yeah it looks more solid with 2 CDMs. The 433/451 system we are toying with is making me feel a little anxious if im honest. We desperately need a couple of quality signings.
-
Exactly. Dan Harding was a very good signing, and turned out to be a very valuable player for us. Yes the premiership may be above his ability, but why can't fans recognise his contribution and wish him well? Personally at the stage we were rebuilding he was my favourite player in his first season with us.

The "Why have we signed him" transfer that proved you wrong

Recent times Kelvin Davis, especially as he had a slow start with us. Also id say for me Paul Telfer, Chris Marsden and Gregorsz Rasiak is my wildcard. Didn't think hed do too well but i thought he was excellent. 33 goals in 84 games, most in that 06/07 season.
